- Today's update brings us the release of Chapter 15 in the main story. The main SR drop from 15-4 is Houston II. There is also a mini Tempesta event with a new equipment gear.

The nature of the new mechanics seems to strongly favor having a 3rd surface fleet to join in the action. IF ONLY THEY WOULD LET US.
Ikr. Things would play out so much differently if we were allowed a third fleet esp. To pick off that enemy air support generator specifically
or even a 4th one with a second uboat group to assist. otherwise you will need deep oil reserves to attack this chapter.
Man if we had 3 fleets, imagine all the cross fleet barrages...

ngl, the lack of drops and a lackluster new ship really saps the motivation to chase down W15 right away. :\
That’s the point though, if it’s that difficult then there’s nothing players need when they play it.

The new mechanics for W15 make me kind of glad that I still haven't bothered pushing into W13 and W14. Those new mechanics just do not seem fun.

Same, I'm here for a good time, not a long time. Sexy ship ladies in skimpy outfits I get to ogle at that I can also sometimes use to play the game.
Imma do the same thing I've been doing for the last 5 years; wait for the game to power creep the content to the point of it being trivial while focusing all my efforts challenging myself with time limited events. Currently means the extreme challenge mode that happens monthly, and the higher end opsci stages.
W15 is just going to be a chore, so I'll put it on hold for a long time, but I'm happy for people who want a challenge.
Well outside the free gems and the 100% collection with Houston II there isn't a whole lot forcing you to do it if you dont want to.
Finally beating 14-4 yesterday and i was barely making it through let alone 3 starring it and then Chap 15 comes out lol

of course but all tempesta (aka wood and pre industrial revolution with exception of the steam ships etc.) have no AA on them and will be sitting ducks for planes. unless backed up with other ships that have AA batteries on them. also the gunnery on them same with the cast iron round shot would be so underpowered it would just bounce off the hulls of the enemy and since the stuff operates at close range. that's not going to help them much.
again they have the cube upgrade to turn them in to weapon frame systems to compensate for the otherwise discrepancy across the board. but still those tempesta girls are going to get clapped hard.
Thanks for the review! I'm definitely not ready for Chapter 15 yet. I need to do more Gear enhancements and spend the oil to clear Chapter 14.

yeah the level cap increase is what we need right now. especally for warsprite and others who are already at the cap will do better here.

I'm still in 12-4. I just want to get all my shipgirls to 120 so i can try to overkill in stats alone with the meta ships for ch 13+
Hm... w15 looks like a pain in the ass. But i would like to get much more old ships. I like the style and history of them. Even when i think that big boys... pardon, girls, like Queen Annes Revenge (Blackbeards Ship) would probably be handled as a big trump card like Yamato.
of course edward thatch would be pleased with this. also barthamew robberts and his personal ship will be useful on top of the ones that never made it to build but were designed and even USS consitution will show up in there some day along with HMS victory. (that girl will have beef with the one french ship who's marine killed her admeral at trafulger.) (and yes my spelling sucks. )

Does that mean that the iron blood fighters without bombs will be worth using for the carrier supporting fleet if you want to prioritize anti-air? Like the Fw 190 A-5.
Ya those AA focused planes will now have a purpose.
@@AzurLaneMeta there are other planes of the luffafe that will work when converted to the knighsmre that works to. hell even the itialian planes, and even the russian planes could work. though the old faithful US planes etc will be called up for this task.
I Honestly Can't Wait to try. Ch13 hard is being quite fun, my USS girls really are doing Great in it, but I'm starting to feel the need for more heal again, hahahahaha. Not gonna lie, I Love this harder content, and they Finally added a third fleet mechanic with support, I've Always wanted that feature for CVs, can't wait to try it later today. Just wish we could get a few of their skills from it, being heals or an early strike from them, I'm sure that will make the next UR event Very interesting with this new feature, I'm sure we will see a variation of that.
When Houston II's character sheet was first shown off, there was an error. She was classed as a heavy cruiser & I thought I was going mad, but it seems it was just a typo.
Also, the new Tempesta ship is the Golden Hind. AKA, Sir Francis Drake's ship that, while on a 'voyage of discovery' from 1577 to 1580 authorized by Queen Elizabeth I, was the second ship to successfully circumnavigate the globe.

At this point, instead of Houston II, they should drop SSR-Selector or outright drop GEMS (with a cap of x-amount per month or something). 15-4 require so much top-tier dedication to grind, a weak collection-ship feels like a middle finger.
Alternatively, they should've done these challenges with W13 Hard mode instead of normal mode. Hard mode that's actually hard makes more sense. "Normal" mode is more like required grinding to collect all the ships... making normal mode this complicated makes no sense.

Just tried 15-1 and stopped right there, need to lvl 125 some AA cruisers and +13 12 Anti air radar first before proceeding.

Damn, i guess ill stick to farming w13 to level all my ships to 120 before i even think about starting w15. Too much of a chore and annoyance for my liking.
If she is an SR, she's already collection only, right? How many non SSR ships are worthwhile in anything other than pvp niche?
I mean Unicorn (retrofit) and Perseus are top tier generic PvE options. Obviously as more URs come into play less SRs get used. But there is a wide range of usefulness for SRs.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but Unicorn retrofits to an SSR and Perseus is an SSR herself. Is Houston 2 a purple ship? Grey - common, blue - rare, purple - super rare, gold - super super rare, rainbow - ultra rare.@@AzurLaneMeta
@@willchurch8376Houston II is yellow. EN has SR (Super Rare) as the second highest tier (yellow) and E (Elite) as the third (purple) vs JP (and probably CN, idk for sure tho) have SSR as yellow and SR as purple. It's a mis-match of terminology across servers.

Cleveland class disrespect continues, battle of Bougainville is a clear fact of how strong Cleveland class cruisers were yet in game they get no in game representation of that, why does a SSR have a worse heal than Phoenix, why not give her the same % amount as Phoenix, why do they make these Heals appear at the worst times and then not have it be useless because 1 torp wipes 15% HP easy. they go all out for making the blueprint ships so damn strong but neglect this ships that actually existed and proved their worth.

W15 is absolutely insane for how absolutely trashy\ the rewards are. Not to mention they still refused to increase level cap to deal with this trash content.

Well that can be solved fairly easy.
This is a game design failure. Too much damage for too long of a time. The game, characters, and gear are not setup for this. Houston II is not going to even be worth using.
