Quick tip: anything with oil (oil based or straight up oil) should be applied LAST. It’s harder for products to penetrate oil, so they should be last to seal everything in :)

Annie Bergquist i like adding oils after serums, but before heavier creams!

i want the benefits of the oil on my skin before moisturiser so i'll stick to that thanks. basic carrier oils are fine for over creams but special ones should go first.

Interesting, I agree with partially both of what your saying. Having combo / oily skin and over 35 I really don’t have the need for creams after 1st always ( my serum ) then an oil. However at times I will certainly add an eye cream after the oil has been on at least 30 mins or so. TY

Annie Bergquist face oils placed on skin seek out sebum from the dermis, it’s going to trick ur skin into accepting other ingredients put on after for example retinols and glycolic acid should be applied after if you want to get the most benefit from them

WAter based - gel based - cream based - oil based (oil always come last)

Would love to see a routine for the pregnant ladies! While I enjoy skincare I have had to stop using my normal products because of the chemicals they contain, but I still want to take good care of my skin, especially during this time in my life.

    I would do
    1-Water
    2-Gel/Oil-Free Cream
    3-Oil
    4-Cream that contains oils
Basically water based formulas first, then oil based formulas

In winter I use foundations with SPF and in summer I put transparent sunscreen on top of my skin care and make up. Neck and cleavage too. 100% Natural products for skin care and big brands products for serum and make up.
This is advice I got from all my doctors. (I had a surgery for a breast issue)

Hi Dr. Mona! I recently subscribed to your channel and love the videos I've seen so far. Question: is it sufficient to wear a foundation or tinted moisturizer with SPF? Or do we need to layer a separate SPF cream as well? Thanks!

Rose AndCore the amount of SPF in makeup isn't significant enough to provide good protection, I would definitely recommend putting a separate SPF on under makeup!

The downside to a setting spray with SPF is that there is absolutely no way to be sure how much of the product was actually applied to the face. Plenty of the SPF will be sprayed into the air (along with your money!). If you are truly interested in getting the full benefits of an SPF, do not use spray on products.

Better put the sunscreen on top of everything. Make up often contains seemingly harmless ingredients that however change molecular structure under heat. They then become carcinogenic.
One of these ingredients existed in my drugstore moisturizer and since Ive had surgery for a breast issue at a young age my products underwent scrutiny.

My sister doesn't believe in serums, moisturizers, creams etc. she only uses glycerin (99.5%). What should I tell her that will make her change her mind? She says all lotions and creams have glycerine in it and it keeps her skin hydrated (yet oily looking lol). She's still young so I don't want her to make a mistake she'll regret later on. Thank you!!!

    • @abic67
      @abic67 6 років тому +1

Ro Ha Well she right, glycerin is usually the main ingredient in lotion, if she finds it hydrating it enough it should be good. Just tell her to at least use sunscreen in addition. In the future she may have to change her skincare because she might find glycerin is no longer enough to keep her skin looking the best.
