Ik vind het prachtig gezongen mooie stemmen combinatie. Ik vind het alleen spijtig dat ik geen idee heb wat de inhoud is van het lied. Ik zou het wel fijn vinden dat sommige liedjes zouden vertaald worden naar blijkbaar doet Andre Rieu dat nooit
Sie dürfen sehr stolz sein, auf die Kultur ihres Vaterlandes und die daraus entstandenen vielen Lieder ! Emotionen die sich in den Melodien finden,lassen jedes Lied zu einem Erlebnis werden. Kulturen sind für jedes Land ein ganz besonderes Stück an Identifikation und Verbundenheit ,mögen sie uns allen noch lange erhalten bleiben. Alles Gute !

Russian choral singing has very interesting historical outlines. A large number of works are written for bass parts. This song was written for a soloist - bass profundo. This is due to the fact that in Russian churches, the clerk with the lowest voice was selected to sing the main church hymns and psalms. The very plot of such songs often tells a tragic or sad story. The traditions of bass parts have also passed into the classical music of Russian composers. Without them, the world genius of Fyodor Chaliapin would not have been revealed at the beginning of the 20th century.

At a time when most young people listen to rap, it’s already great. If his orchestra had not performed this ballad, most foreigners would never have heard this work. So categorical thanks to the maestro for his work.

Music, older than any of us, performed just like this by generations, enjoyed by audiences just like this for generations. The assurance that long after we're all gone, there will be an Andre Rieu transmitting the energy of God and love and creation to a choral group that will absorb it, comprehend it, download it into their beings and give it back to grateful ears to hear, to open hearts to receive, is as welcome as that old wool felt coat against the cold uncertainty of the future. This is a song about a repentant robber, to the based on poems of Russian poet Nikolai Nekrasov "The Legend of the twelve Robbers", music by N.A. Manykin-Nevstruev.

My daughter & I saw the orchestra in Boston 2 years ago, it was a true dream of a lifetime for me. My daughter was 27 at the time and didn’t know his music but replaced my husband because he had to work. She was so happy she took her Dad’s place, she absolutely loved it✝️❤️
Your daughter has good taste. You should look into Ivan Rebroff. He did this song the best, and made it famous.
You should visit his concert in Maastricht; it is not comparable with any other concert. Just went there again this year; to see the choir live was absolutely breath-taking.

On Sunday mornings, to rally the family to church, my father would often play Gregorian chants but sometimes he would slip this into the morning's playlist (the same choir here-Mastreechter Staar) . This song really touches my soul and brings back wonderful memories of family life way back then. Miss you papa! Miss you mama! Heel erg bedankt, Andre for your music-my parents were big fans, too. Any chance of your incredible orchestra coming to New Zealand? If you get in quick-the Sky Sports Stadium in Wellington might be available.
