words you never want to hear: "my mother is dead because of you..." Great scene. The end of the 1795 storyline had tons of great scenes like this, with Barnabas kicking ass.
I just found this info. about Jonathan Frid from a large Official Facebook Grp and from an official website as well. >>>>> "" Mr. Frid was a proud Canadian. When he retired he moved back to Ontario Canada where he had family and many friends. Jonathan Frid never married ( obviously ) and he never had any children. However, he was survived by his beloved cousins and his brother's children, and by his Grand niece and nephews who loved and adored him. They called him 'Uncle John'. He was dearly loved. Mr. Frid was not a religious man so there was no ceremony after he died. He never liked to be fussed over and he did not want a funeral nor a memorial. He preferred to be remembered alive and enjoying life. Mr. Frid did not want a final resting place in fear of the many obsessive fans he had who would seek out the grave of 'Barnabas Collins' and set up memorials and write graffiti about his character. He didn't want fans to put him up on a pedestal like a movie idol. He never wanted that kind of attention. Jonathan Frid said that many fans had trouble separating him, the actor from the character he had played. Fans would address him as Barnabas instead of his real name and they'd ask him a lot of 'vampire' related questions. He did not want those kinds of obsessive fans to bother his relatives . Mr. Frid would often say that he was nothing like his Barnabas character. He also stated several times that he would like to be remembered for more than just his work on Dark Shadows. He had twenty years of acting experience before he even appeared on the TV show and several years of doing dramatic readings in his reader's theater and in his one-man shows and his tour with the play, Arsenic and Old Lace with actors Marion Ross, Jean Stapleton and Larry Storch. Mr. Frid was so much more than just his Barnabas character. R I P ."" He is missed by his relatives, friends, fans and by his community.
@@harperstacey9604 yes that was very sad news, as Joel was such a kind, sweet, gracious guy. He loved his fans and he loved life. Sadly, there were three other actors from the show who also died from AIDS related illnesses, they got sick before doctors knew all the details about the illness, and not medicines back then to treat it. Terrible losses.
I'm just finishing the 1975 storyline, and Nathan has been one of the most interesting villains yet. At first, he was a scoundrel, but then he earned my respect in genuinely trying to help Victoria. Then he gradually became a villain who I loved to hate, but towards the end he crossed the line into merely being a loathsome character, and I couldn't wait for his comeuppance. His character arc was one of the wildest ones yet, and you can tell Joel Crothers enjoyed playing a character so despicable!
Forbes started out as an interesting character. He was a womanizer and a fortune hunter but he helped Barnabas hide Victoria Winters. He was flawed but not a bad guy. Then overnight they turned him into a one dimensional cardboard villain who would have killed Millicent and Daniel.
I saw something but look again. Those sure look like track lights above the window at 3:36 when Barnabas breaks the glasses. I have never noticed those because Im always looking at the glass flying everywhere.
@@andrew.dallas yeah, they resemble mugs too, but they're facing all different directions, but if they were mugs, wouldn't they all be more or less facing the same direction?
I love the transformation of Cyrus Longworth into John Yeager, drinking that foaming Pepto-Bismol and transforming himself into the evil man with a black wig and mustache, and wreaking havoc.
I remember the same thing about the series. Willie kept warning Jason not to do it, so his death was a foregone conclusion. It was difficult enough for people to accept the change that had happened to Willie, Jason behaving in a similar fashion would raise a lot of unnecessary questions. And the lesson against greed had already been played out by Willie's obsession with finding the Collins "hidden treasure".
@@tenhirankei The funny thing about Jason McGuire was that the actor who portrayed him (the late Dennis Patrick) was so popular with the cast that they eventually brought him back to play McGuire's friend Paul Stoddard.
Barnabas bricking Trask up in the wall....that's the 1795 time 2✌️😺😵💫😵💫😽...I remember that scene so well....then when they found him 150 yrs(?) later❤️❤️❤️🖖✌️😽

My number 1 favorite Barnabus scene of the entire show.

One of the BEST scenes!
Ohhhh this is SWEET revenge. The most bad-ass killing in the entire series!
I can't stand Lt. Forbes! Get him Barnabus!
"I can not die, because I am already dead". "Do I frighten, you Forbes?"
❤
GREAT acting by both gentlemen. It was so satisfying to see Forbes wetting his pants in fear.
I remember this scene as a child. This is classic Dark Shadows scene.. Hell, everybody remembers this scene.
Oscar winning daytime acting
This show was great.
Joel Crothers was as talented as he was handsome...so sad he died so young.
It was extremely rare when he flubbed a line. Crothers, Selby, Thayer David, Barrett, Edmonds among the most consistent of the Dark Shadows actors.
Joel crothers was on a soap opera called, the edge of night for many years. I was shocked to learn that he died of aids.

@@thejupiter2574 joel crothers did a good job of playing Nathan Forbes on Dark shadows.
I so agree! ! May he rest in peace
One of my favourite scenes from the entire show. Frid was great in this scene.
Don't mess with a vampire's "Mama"!
Out of Barnabas family he was closest to his mother Naomi and little sister Sarah so he would of course taken their deaths very badly.
Joel Corothers is perfect as Forbes! Reminding me of a guy I fell for who was also a cad and a scoundrel and handsome and charming!

One of my favorite scenes
subtle but chilling scene.
the weather was always bad in collinsport
There was thunder and lightning almost every night except for a full moon.
Doppler weather forecast for Collinsport, dark and stormy with a 101% chance of fangs.
Absolutely loved this scene. Forbes was evil. Needed to be put in his place.
Forbes started out as an interesting character. He was a womanizer and a fortune hunter but he helped Barnabas hide Victoria Winters. He was flawed but not a bad guy. Then overnight they turned him into a one dimensional cardboard villain who would have killed Millicent and Daniel.
Barnabas was so cool! Jonathan Frid was perfect as Barnabas!,
Jonathan spoke with aditude. He made Barnabas memorable.
Joel Crothers was very handsome. Bananas is Not happy with LT Forbes.
I loved it when Forbes tries to shoot Barnabus Collins... With Barnabus telling Forbes with his then "Just Bring It!" attitude!😈😈😈😈😈😈😈
I was an infant when Dark shadows aired in the mid sixties. I recently discovered the reruns on the decades channel and I am hooked.
I would get seriously drunk. At 9:00, Barnabas would find me out cold.
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
I'm just now getting to this point in the 1895 storyline and it's pretty dang dark. So far the darkest story in the series so far.
Forbes had it coming that's for sure.
2 handsome men
"There can be only 1."
Well I see two-
Lt. Forbes getting his just reward!
As per his promise, Barnabas exacts his revenge!
I may be mistaken, but are those lights hanging from the ceiling at the end?

when Barnabas comes back Forbes tries to kill him with a crossbow arrow but doesn't hit his heart, adios Forbes
Barnabas is Gangster in this.
This and john Yeager were most satisfying

why they didn't also show about Barnabas Collins in strangling Jason McGuire and killing him after opening the coffin of Barnabas Collins?

I can am pretty sure that it was 1969.
after that, not only am i leaving the tavern, i'm leaving the town, the state and possibly the country!!
Barnabas will still find you. He has supernatural powers. No where to Forbes to hide.
I cannot die, because I am already dead. Do I frighten you Forbes? Yes Barnabas, I just dumped a load in my shorts.
Lovely.
Barnabas should have killed Forbes right away he almost got killed himself if Forbes had not been so nervous holding the Crossbow..
