Good stuff. Been looking to get into a scope and have yet to pull the trigger on a PC based multichannel scope. This could be what I need to maintain my fleet!!
I understand the use of the waveform generator to substitute a load for the ECM to see a signal from the wheel that you’re testing. Does the Texa not have live data that you can graph on a road test!? Once you see a signal drop, then you would know which wheel and circuit to deal with first. Then use your wave form generator to test integrity of the circuit. I could see that being used more on a trailer rather than a tractor for initial testing. If say, you had the tractor ABS light come on on the dash, with the trailer only being dropped a shop.
Yes Texa can graph wheel speed data. I'm just showing how to do this test after you verify a loss of signal with the software. This would be the next test you would do to verify wiring and the the computer.
Yes that is correct! The waveform generator is duplicating a signal similar to the sensor. This would test the circuit as well as the ecu's response to that signal

Great are great additions to any skilled shop or tech.
Excellent
Great explanation, and great video. Can this method be applied to other similar sensors on the engine? Def? Ect? If so please show us. Thanks 👍
Yes you could use this technique on any kind of speed sensor whether it's square wave or ac sine wave.

Hi Michael, do you still have a Instagram account?
Oh ok so for the first portion all you’re pretty much performing is a circuit response test?

Hey, this is jaltest Diogenes tool
