As a Nephrologist, the worst part of my job often is giving patients the “bad news” that they need Dialysis. There are misconceptions that Dialysis is the end of life. But, is dialysis a “bad” news? Kidney failure is bad news but Dialysis is good news. Dialysis is hope. With Dialysis, people can live for decades after their kidneys fail, and live Well and fully. Provided we inflict a few lifestyle adjustments, Dialysis can increase the quality and quantity of life for people with end stage renal disease. This video explains when and why do some patients need Dialysis, the types of dialysis and why is dialysis a life saver.

The cause of headache should be addressed. Like fluctuations in blood pressure.

Your session gives a better understanding of the need for dialysis for the patients whose kidneys fail and tries to convince them that, if it is absolutely necessary, they should undergo dialysis to lead a better life.

When will portable device or an implantable device that will take over the kidney function.(an artificial kidney) be made? Is someone developing one?

Although Hemodialysis isn’t a treatment that we should dread about. Having said that, the person undergo or endure Dialysis treatment needs to be strong both physically and mentally, because dialysis will take huge toll on our human body with every session. CKD or ESRD is a huge 🚩 and pretty much signals the end of our life. Despite Hemodialysis being life saver to CKD patients, the eventuality is DEATH 💀 affirmed. Dialysis help patients to defer or evade DEATH ☠️ week after week as long as the person continues with hemodialysis treatment

You are right there. It takes a lot to handle Dialysis both for the patient and care giver. That s why I always say look at Dialysis as a bridge to transplant.

Of all end organ failures, kidney failure can be managed with Dialysis which s very safe and widely available. Renal transplantation has been very successful and widely done than any other organ transplantation.

@@askdoctormadhu5523 Dear Doctor, Thank you 🙏 for the confession, ESRD OR CKD is a cruel condition, people in our country lack awareness including myself. KIDNEYS are the only organ in our human soul works 24/7 throughout our lifetime, other organs like 🧠 Liver, intestine gets to rest in our human soul whilst we fall asleep, whereas Kidneys perform the most crucial function on our human soul by cleansing and purifying our blood 🩸 stream whilst also keeping the electrolyte values in control for our human soul

@@askdoctormadhu5523 Dear doctor, although Hemodialysis is good stop gap solution for patient's suffering from CKD or ESRD. However it is not viable solution for many patients because of the cost or expenses involved in Hemodialysis every week is quite huge. It costs nearly 10000 INR for 3 Hemodialysis session including filters medicines and investigations 🔎. Renal transplantation ain't easy, because nephro surgeons advise patients to bring on live donor rather than cadaver donor. Since the chances of successful renal transplantation is massive with live donors, whereas with cadaver donors its a toss up or 50/50 only
