Even though jewfish are protected I do my share at thinning them out I do keep them they are great eating n I also will never catch one bigger than the one I caught by Marco Island estimated to weigh 738lbs h was 7ft 6in long n 6ft 9in around he was released but it took 5hrs on a penn 9 ought with a 130lb class rod I have pics to prove it
