This is really interesting and something I want to try. The way I was thinking was to use the Novation software to program each strip (2 buttons, fader and 3 knobs) to a different channel. Think it’s get the same results as you have here.

I dont know that I'd ever use all 8 user banks like that, but it made sense. I normally use Factory bank (1) to map all Faders, mute/solo, pan, and sends.
If you do Factory for those, and then each user bank to control your effects, that'd offer a lot of options/control. Also fast to jump back & forth!
I also should mention I'm using Drambo nowadays, works great with Launch Control XL.
For one song, I rendered Drambo track, used file player in AUM and assigned Turnado, and then kept tweaking Turnado while track played. Sounded amazing (to me) - ua-cam.com/video/sslOJuoheH8/v-deo.html
I guess i could've used this method & assigned Factory 1 to Drambo mixer and a user bank to Turnado. Hmmmm... Gotta try that!

The main problem here, you use absolute encoders as macro's and you don't have any visual feedback on the device. So you will have to confirm your actions non stop and switch context. On top of that you will experience catch/jump behavior which is a huge pain. You either need to map 1 knob to 1 parameter or use endless encoders with feedback, which requires your plugins to communicate bidirectional. Or use touch osc and embrace the power of touch interaction. Which can be just as amazing as using dedicated analog hardware. A great midi controller setup allows you to do everything you need with your eyes closed. If not you might as well embrace the direct visual control with apps that benefit from touch. Like Animoog, Patterning, Samplr. Spacecraft etc.
Personally i would position your ipad side by side with your controller. Then map what you need in a single bank. What you see is what you control.
And use the touch interaction where its made for. So hybrid. 8 buttons , 8 ui screens. 8 plugins, 8 strips.
Or 6 instrument + 2 fx strips. You want creative control, quick context, to focus on what matters. Thats my 2 cents😁

@@krazywabbit yes i agree its not easy. You can also pick some auv3 midi apps. For Example KB1 is very versatile. Or Dive into Loopy Pro. Also a rabbithole😆
I'm using in my dawless set-up 2x lauch control xl. When i'm changing template on one of them, the other one also change template. I don't want that. I want them to stay independent.
