    Quick note, you can plug the cameras into the Cigarette lighter / accessory port, or USB port on newer cars. You can leave the battery out completely. everything else works great, and you never have to replace the battery. the only flaw is, the Gopro turns off when you turn the car off.

    • @travelpockets
      @travelpockets Рік тому +1

      My GoPro would still overheat or act weird when I leaved it plugged in, so I stopped doing this. I'm not sure if I have a defective GoPro or not, but if it works for a long period of time for you, I'm guessing I have a bad product.

      @@travelpockets My GoPro still overheats as well, I usually redirect a vent to blow air on the GoPro. You can try hooking up the cable to a USB power source in your car and that way you won't have to switch batteries. And if you forget to adjust the settings, you can also use an effect in Premiere Pro to get rid of most of it OR if you shoot in 4K and edit in a HD sequence, you can zoom into the footage and get rid of the fisheye edges. That might be a little too technical, so the easiest option would be to change the settings :)

    I have a GoPro hero 7 mounted on my dash. Problem is it over heats and shuts down. Have you had any problems like that?

    • @travelpockets
      @travelpockets Рік тому

      My GoPro 9 and 10 overheats if I have it recording for more than 20 minutes. If I record on timelapse, it seems to be fine.

    So the million dollar question, how steady are your videos when going over dips and bumps. I have never seen a gimbal for inside of cars where can easily install.

    • @travelpockets
      @travelpockets 2 роки тому

      The newer GoPros handle bumps nicely. Especially if you have Hyper Smooth on. It has the same effects as a gimbal.

    can you record and charge it at the same time with a cars usb port?

    • @travelpockets
      @travelpockets 3 роки тому

      You can, but sometimes the GoPro would stop recording or get a little funky, so I stopped doing that. Might be totally different in your experience, so I would give it a try.

    One question. Does the image come out stable when the car vibrates or moves a lot on the road?

    • @travelpockets
      @travelpockets 2 роки тому +1

      Yup, the image comes out very clear because the newer GoPros have a Hypersmooth feature that does an incredible job stabilizing the footage.

    did you know you can use the usb cable with no battery and record till the sd card is out?

    • @travelpockets
      @travelpockets 3 роки тому

      Yeah, but in my experience, this seemed to overheat the GoPro and it would stop recording or act funky after awhile. Not sure if I had a faulty cable?

      I would make sure you're really pressing it in there. It can be a little tricky at times, but once you lock it in, it should stay put.

    How do you keep the GoPros charged while vlogging

    • @travelpockets
      @travelpockets 3 роки тому

      I just used the batteries and changed them out as needed (that's why I use the case to take out the GoPro easily). You can also charge your GoPro through it's cable, but I found that it overheated my GoPro and it would start acting finicky, so I stopped doing that. I'ver heard others say it works for them.

    hows your gopro? isnt it that it gets hot after 15-20mins of filming?

    • @travelpockets
      @travelpockets Рік тому

      Yes, if I record for about 20 minutes, it overheats and stops filming. If I record timelapses, it seems to be fine tho.

  • @FedSher

    As I can see here... it seems that there's no case needed at all to mount GoPro 9 right? At least to shoot dashcam footage of course, and as long as you don't really need those audio cases shown here. I just bought it and I can see that there isn't any case included like the previous versions.

    • @travelpockets
      @travelpockets 3 роки тому +1

      Yup, you are correct. You don't need a case to mount the GoPro 9. I just use it to take out the GoPro more easily without having to unscrew anything.

    • @FedSher
      @FedSher 3 роки тому +1

      @@travelpockets 👌 I was thinking of that as well, it might be a problem unless you can take out the batteries and plug the camera to any device without removing it...otherwise I'll need to buy a case of course

    Why don't you just run a cable from a usb charger into the gopro..? No need to replace the battery then as it will continually charge. In England we have a cigarette lighter slot in our cars. You can just plug a dual usb charger into that and away you go.

    • @travelpockets
      @travelpockets 2 роки тому

      I get asked this question a lot and I did try to charge with a cable while the GoPro was powered on several times, but my GoPro kept on overheating and started acting weird like recording footage upside down or not recording at all.
