Is the average bottle of flavored water even particularly bad for you? Sure, some brands add a bunch of unnecessary chemicals and sugars to it but many brands simply use natural flavorings to give it a particular taste, and advertise no extra calories. If you can afford a special $40 water bottle and the single use plastic pods to make it work then you can probably afford to buy a brand of flavored water that uses no questionable additives.

"I feel like I do taste something, so I'm impressed about that... but I'm not impressed by the taste that I'm tasting", the way it was delivered, is perhaps the funniest product review I've ever heard 😂
I had the same same problem with bad flavour, but the pineapple flavour actually tastes almost identical to pineapple juice, just a bit more diluted. It is great!
I had a very similar experience. I was blown away that it did work and horribly underwhelmed that the taste was bad. I think these have the possibility of being really cool, but they'll need better flavors.
The funny thing is by entraining the flavor with the water, you are still getting flavored water, just with an extra step. You are still drinking whatever chemicals are in the pods. In order to taste it, it has to touch your taste buds.
I remember your reviews the scented cup and the tasty tabs and basically formed my thoughts on products like this from those old reviews and already know it wont work as they advertise. I am very glad you do these reviews because i appreciate your honesty.
I've actually been using the air up bottle for the past week in an attempt to reduce the amount of soda I drink and I'm enjoying it so far I started with peach currently on watermelon and while the flavor is subtle I find it more enjoyable than drinking plain water so I'm happy with it.
If you want some other options, when I was trying to stop drinking sweet teas every day, I liked diluting 100% fruit juice with sparkling water. It creates a really nice summery drink. At first it was mostly juice, but I gradually changed the ratio to be mostly water as I went. Also, a couple of leaves of fresh mint / lemongrass / lemon balm / salvia in your water do wonders with the taste. Keep at it, I'm now drinking pure water and I'm loving the clean taste far more than I did anything else.
Gotta say, I was skeptical trying it myself at first, and was initially disappointed ("tastes too chemically") but I'm happy to say the chemical taste went away very quickly, and while I don't love all the flavors, the Mixed Berry, Orangeade, and Watermelon definitely work and taste great! Honestly the orange-vanilla is one of my least favorite flavors, but to each their own.
@@NotLoule Don't expect it to be super strong/flavorful, but I quite like it, and it's *definitely* noticeable and has successfully encouraged me to drink water more often.
So I have a theory why you didn't enjoy two of them. After watching the video a few times, I noticed that the three flavors that you did enjoy to some degree, you smelt them before tasting them. The cherry and watermelon, you put them directly into the bottle without smelling them beforehand. Your brain is trying to pick up a a smell but is not 100% clear of what that smell is. By smelling them beforehand, you were giving your brain instructions on to what smell to look for. The cherry and watermelon you didn't smell so all your brain could pick up is the artificial scent. I don't know if I'm right...
yep this appears somewhat psychologically sound as this process of “priming” often helps people become more receptive of certain events or experiences since we know what we’re getting into better and attunes how we frame things or set expectations … or it could just be that the flavors aren’t as nice 😂
No, a lot of artificial cherry and watermelon flavors taste pretty chemically, they’re hard to replicate (and many medicines/cough drops are cherry/watermelon flavored which is why we relate those artificial tastes to chemicals)
Mine just arrived today, got the Wild Berry pods to try and I gotta say, it’s not what I was expecting. The flavour is sooo subtle to the point where I had to try water without the pod just to check that I was actually doing it right. Will keep using as it’s a good water bottle if nothing else, and perhaps I’ll get to a point where the flavour becomes more prominent (since I’ve now stopped drinking soft drinks completely).
Interested to hear if you still use it 2 months later, and what your favorite flavors are. Cirkul was interesting, but wasn't quite enough for me to drop soda. I think Stevia is a bit too sweet for me.
I've been using the airup for quite a long time now and I can suggest changing the placement of the pod to change the intensity of the bubbles and the taste! You can even push it completely down to get no bubbles and just get the smell through the nose!
@@TerraHv1 from my understanding of hearing it in ads, the air from the filter aerate the water and that's one way the smell gets to you; possibly one reason they call them "flavor" whatevers.
My sister bought these for my nephews (aged 6 and 10) to get them to drink more water and less soft drinks. They love most of the flavours. Personally, based on the few flavours I’ve tried, I completely agree with you. The water gets a very artificial and chemical ‘taste’ imo.
I dont get why american parents buy soda in the first place. Here soda is seen as a treat that parents buy for kid's birthday parties. In every day life kids here drink apple spritz ( sparkling water with a sip of unconcentrated, natural apple or orange juice in it)
I've seen this in a UA-cam video a time or two, and I'm really glad I saw an honest review of the product. Keep up the good work so I don't but stuff I think I might like!
This was great. I saw the Air up advertised a year ago, but hesitated after a few middling reviews. I'm ok with subtle flavours, and hearing an honest opinion that it does deliver flavour is definitely something I wanted to hear.
Love my cirkuls. I got 4 when they were originally on kickstarter. It’s awesome seeing them in stores now. Those original pods weren’t very good and didn’t last long but they have improved. Maybe that’s where Air up is now.
I recently purchased the Cirkul water bottle, and I really like it. I've gone from rarely drinking water to drinking 4-5 or more bottles a day. Before that I was drinking a lot of soda. Not to sound like an ad, but it's really helped me to be able to drink the amount of water that my body needs.
me 2 i got it i really like it, i like drinking water but sometimes i want something else but i dont want soda and carbonated water gets expensive so i save that for when im eating food. I wish that i had gotten it sooner.
I got one because I work at Walmart and half of the other associates have one and we sell them so it make sense. Got one for my dad and he really likes it. I like it enough but I actually really like plain water so I just got it out of curiosity but don’t really need it to get me to drink water. I think the plus side to cirkul is that they are adjustable to your own preferences. If you like strong taste then you can get strong taste, if you like weaker flavor you can get weaker flavor. The only downside for me is perhaps the price, but again, I’m not big on flavored water so in my head it just cheaper to drink regular water. But for someone who needs flavor, they are a great option. My dad even tried experimenting with the flavor cartridges. He’s taken them apparent and added some other brand of just liquid flavoring as you can get me liquid and used those to refill the cartridge. It apparently works but finding the a good flavor that gives you more Bank for your bunk can be tricky.
@@cookieridergirl i know people have used mio flavors along with some powders refilling the cartridge but I've never experimented with it, i really like them if you dont like the flavors you can get a filter instead of the flavors from their website. i was surprised by how much i liked thier bottles
Thank you! I've been very curious about this, but not quite ready to go go for it yet. I really appreciate the review. I was hoping to get off the artificial sweeteners with the powders I'm currently using, but every time I switch to plain water, I watch my water consumption go down, no matter how much I try. Thanks for saving me $40!
Whenever I get tired of plain water, I go old school. I add things like fruits (lemon slices, orange slices, strawberries, blackberries, razzberries, pineapple, whatever you like) both frozen and fresh work. I also like mint leaves and cucumbers. Mixing these also are great. i.e. lemon, strawberry and mint. mixed berries or any combination you can dream up. I hate artificial sweeteners and refuse to consume them so this makes a healthy alternative and you can eat the fruit after. 😄
My concern with the bubbles is that straws are already prone to causing trapped air issues in the intestinal tracks (Which can be painful). Which is totally different to the feeling when you have fizzy drinks. So the fact that they are creating a product that requires you to swallow large amounts of air concerns me quite a bit.
Or it can get trapped and cause pain, lead to colic or gout and a number of other things. They aren't *dangerous* as such. But they hurt like hell. And given how absolutely unnecessary it is to experience said pain, seems like a very flawed design.
Apparently, the air up water bottle is made for people who breathe through their nose. I heard somewhere that when you are drinking out of the bottle, you are supposed to also breathe through your nose. This will also enhance the amount of flavor you can taste. I think this is true. My reason for this, is the fact that whenever you take a sip of any flavored drink, and cover your nose, you are not able to taste the flavor to the same degree compared to when you aren't covering your nose. This is also why covering your nose when having to take liquid medicine helps reduce the bad taste. I believe that based off of what I saw in the video, you were either inhaling before taking a sip, or you held your breath while taking a sip. Of course, you were breathing out afterwards, so that could be because you were inhaling through your nose or because of the bubbles that come when taking a sip, which contain oxygen, causing you to breathe out afterwards. I think you should try this again, however this time, try different methods. (holding your breath, inhaling through your nose, covering your nose. Those types of things)
I had a similar idea like 30 years ago. But for something to attach to a spoon for solid foods to simulate (stimulate?) something fatty, like butter. Good to see it could technically work.
With these types of products, a placebo effect needs to take place I believe. So you testing it knowing its not real may muddy the results. Have you ever tried telling someone it really is flavored water and asking what they think? I could be wrong, just a suggestion. You are awesome! And thanks for the content
Nah it does work, flavour is both smell and taste, so just the smell eill work, but it's very watery since you're only getting half of the signals to your brain.
I got my Air Up a year ago and from my experience I agree with you on those flavors. You started out with some bad ones. My opinion why I like it is in 2 factors: The flavor may be weak but it's there and is enough for me to taste it, and the fact it is just water I drink makes me feel gratification that I am drinking something healthy. The second is the price. Going from 2-3$ per cap means it's cheaper than most sodas for the amount you'll get. I personally recommend the citrus flavoured ones, and none of the odd combos like strawberry and balsamic.(Had to rinse my bottle with soap many times before getting the scent away)
So it is exactly as I expected. Like, when you put water in an old soda bottle, you get that slight hint of a tastier drink and get sad that that isn't what you are drinking. OR it is like drinking flavored mineral spring water, where they boldly claim you'll taste strawberry & kiwi or some shiz, and sure, somewhere far back in the aftertaste after you burp there is a slight fake-strawberry "taste" which make you frustrated and sad that you aren't drinking strawberry soda right then instead.
I drink regular old Kool-Aid, but without all the sugar. I put a tablespoon of sugar and a packet of unsweetened Kool-Aid to a 1/2 gallon of water (2 quarts). I drink it all day. I also will occasionally use the little bottles of water flavor that you put a squirt into a bottle of water and create a bottle of unsweetened flavored water. Both of these produce water that has lots of flavor without all the carbonation of soda or the sweetness of juice. The one problem with the Kool-Aid is you have to acclimate to it by slowly reducing the sugar over time. I started with 1/2 the recommended cup of sugar and used a little less sugar each day. But I'm the only person who can drink it because I went through the acclimation process.
Ooh. I do something like this. I take regular powdered juice and just use twice the amount of water on the packet. Now, drinking it the normal way is just too sweet for me.
Thank you for this! My son has been asking for this for months and it seemed so gimmicky to me. We got him a Cirkul (and 2 more for us) for xmas and after seeing this video I feel like we probably made the right decision. We'll know in just a couple more days. After digging for a bit and asking him questions on why he is so adamant on getting an Air Up I discovered that it's what his friends at school have. I should note that he's 10.
All this just to avoid drinking normal water, I'm impressed in a bad way that this exists. Also the air bubbles part is a deal breaker in general. Another flaw is how dirty/dusty those pods would get being exposed with no cover.
Not just that. If you wanna add flavor to your water, just cut up half a fresh fruit and dunk it in your water bottle for the day. It ain't even hard and is so much cheaper and healthier.
@@prisuv unless your absolutely morbidly obese I wouldn't be worrying about the small amount of sugar a fruit adds to water .. (or just get one of the endless selection of sugar free drinks)
For many places, even though water is clean, the chemicals used to clean it can leave a bad taste, especially if your trying to be more plastic conscious and not use plastic bottles. If this is coming from my sink at home, even through my filter it's going to have a weird metallic taste to it. I live in LA all my life and have never liked the taste of water, sink or bottled. Thankfully I do love a real milk tea, made at home with black tea, milk and depending on the tea, a hint of sugar. But straight up water is disgusting and when I was little could make me gag.
Wouldn't mind if you could review any future pods they may release. If the company actually listens to feedback, they may start making better flavours.
Remember the last time when you had a cold with a stuffy nose and couldn't taste anything? This works on this same principle as sense of taste relies a lot on a sense of smell. It would be interesting if they could come out with a beer scent pod that is used with soda water.
The problem is they can't reproduce the natural scents and it ends up smelling like a chemical. Furthermore, we do have taste buds and they do work to some extent.
Yeah the sound from it is definitely a deal breaker! You'd think the company could come up with a way to remove that sound all together? I'd have to pass on this one.
Thanks for the upload. A coworker showed one to me and I'm mostly confused by the whole concept. Looking at pricing and how long a pod lasts it looks like carbonation at home is cheaper and I'd personally prefer it over.. air fresheners right under a drinking nozzle. Matter of taste 😅
It's funny how many of these products exist to make water better when it's great by itself if you can get used to it. I was the same way until around the time I turned 40. I decided to cut out all soda and other drinks and did almost exclusively water for almost 3 years. For the first month or two it was tough, especially getting past the caffeine withdrawals, but then once I found a good stainless steel bottle that keeps water ice cold all day, I finally got over my hatred of plain water and now I love it. Room temp is fine now, but give me some ice cold and I'll chug it! Adding flavor ruins it for me now.
I still drink sodas and love southern sweet tea, but ice cold water is amazing. I also have a favorite stainless steel cup and this, coupled with having an apartment with a fridge that has an ice maker, has meant I drink more water than ever before. Still not as much as I probably should, but it's an improvement. Also, I used to get those Mio flavors to add to my water but got tired of the aftertaste. It also made cleaning out the bottles hard (I used them at my call center job and to protect the computer and everything else, we had to use a spill-proof bottle. I couldn't just use a cup). My family also would get the Hawaiian Punch pouches you pour in water. They never tasted as good as actual Hawaiian Punch, but I don't drink either now.
@@edgarnello9165 then you’ve never met someone whose water is fed from an aquifer. You know how water is a colourless, flavourless, odourless liquid? What comes out of my taps has all three, and this is absolutely normal when your water is supplied from that deep underground!
Exactly. It's supposed to be "healthier" than flavored water, because of chemicals/additives/etc., but now you're potentially sniffing in chemicals instead of drinking them.
@@floyd2386 Since it is from a German start up where regulations are much harsher I wouldn’t be afraid. Probably one reason why it is so mild is because they had to oblige different regulations.
I feel like this is still in early development but has so much potential! Imagine it in a few years! This could replace soda and sugary drinks entirely. Imagine going to grab an Orange Fanta pod or a Pepsi pod and your only drinking water! Way healthier too!
I came into a review of the air up and it reminded me of your review. Lol, you were awfully kind in your review so I've always been curious to what these tasted like. The reviews that have recently been surfacing have been quite negative and many expressing the chemical smell and flavor it produced. Also when tilting the bottle it seems to leak profusely because of how the bottle was designed for bubbles and to incorporate flavor. So that's probably why it isnt reccomended to be drank tilted. Was just nice to be able to come back and compare after awhile. And I agree that people have varying senses of smell. For example I work in a factory setting 3rd shift, so when I come in on a sunday night when everything is warming up and ventilation starts up after the weekend. I always smell engine oil, gas & possibly traces of gasoline. Which 90% of my coworkers always say they do not smell. Which leaves me very perplexed until my supervisor asked me, "do you smell like... Gasoline in here or is it just me??" Which I reply. I sure do and apparently nobody else on our team can smell that. Everyone swears they can't and i'm here getting a headache from how strong that smells. Jeez, i told everyone that it might be engine grease or machine oil because if it was Gasoline. We'd have been dead and that if it was, everybody besides me and the supervisor needs to go see an olfactory doctor. Lol
THIS is the review I was waiting for. I bought one and I’m waiting for it in the mail. And very anxious to try it so I think you gave me some hope for it.
For me, definitely, cirkul is better. I've been using them since you put out your review, and I absolutely love them. But I don't have a good sense of smell, so this would probably be pretty useless for me.
I’ve never used this before, but I’m assuming it’s a similar experience to sparklingly water or other flavored water where it doesn’t taste bad necessarily, but you just wish you had either a completely flavored drink or just plain water instead lol
Yes. Too too many bubbles. You get your water but ache from gas. And the noise would drive me a bit nutty if a coworker was using it. And what if your nose was stuffy 😄 I wondered how it compared to cirkul.
I feel like the flavors that would lend themselves better are flavors that are normally already light yet refreshing not as punchy . So I was thinking apple , peach and anything that when in candy form isn't as sour
Yeah I once had the winter special with cinnamon, kardemom and other spices and it was honestly kinda nasty. Air up works best with light fruity flavours.
I'm hoping that eventually they come out with scented pods that send out a stronger sensation of flavor. I've only used one pod but I might cycle through and see if there are ones that work better for me
I’m still looking for a good water flavor additive but all of the liquid ones have the same horrible aftertaste! Perhaps we need a head to head of the different brands including the powdered ones to see which one you like best.
I tried this and I actually liked the flavour but by the end of a day using it I ended up in intense pain and uncomfortable bloating from swallowing all that air. I haven't been able to find anyone else mentioning it but it was unusable for me for that reason. I gave it to someone else who liked it fine
Interesting concept, at least. I do drink essentially bad diet drinks made from stuff I would rather not consume in order to have some sort of flavor rather than just water. I can see this possibly having an issue where the concept works and is good, then the manufacturing cheapens the product. Hopefully they get it refined and working right, if thats the case. This will of course never work right if you have a poor sense of smell.
Have no fear, I'm sure within the next few years we'll be seeing one of those "if you have used - insert product here-, you may be entitled to compensation" ads on TV
I got these a few years back, back when they started expanding in Europe. There were some flavors I liked, but never loved cuz they were just a bit too watery for my taste. Ended up really loving their limited coffee flavor tho, it tasted like s good coffee drink and was a lot more powerful than the others. Unfortunately, a bit too powerful cuz the aroma lingered and just had a faint taste of coffee. My niece and nephew loved the air up tho, literally saw their minds being blown as they had it, so I ended up giving mine to my nephew. I think the main problem is that they do work but are a little overhyped. If you go in not knowing too much about them and with little expectations, its mindblowing. When you go in with high expecations, its a little dissapointing.
I use the Cirkul water bottle, I've been using it for a couple of weeks, so far I'm not disappointed at all. I love the flavors I have tried, the coffees, some of the teas, but definitely I love the fruit cartridges. Thank you for the review, but I'll stick with my Cirkul water bottle. 😊
Cirkul is a different product. Cirkul uses flavoring to enhance water. Air Up uses a smell cartridge to trick you into thinking you're tasting something instead of just smelling it.
I’ve tried both the Cirkul and the Air Up. I much prefer the Cirkul. You can dial in the flavor to exactly what you want. They FINALLY started selling the sips at Walmart so you don’t have to wait to get more shipped. I do like the concept of the Air Up though. I have a friend who really likes it so I gave her my bottle and pods I had left.
I got one and it's pretty mellow "taste" for me. I learned that if I breathe in while sucking in and breath out while swallowing it makes the flavor more noticeable. I also notice that the pods have a chemical-ish smell and taste the first day of use and it mostly goes away after.
Actually I got mine today - I got peach. I actually really impressed but it. It's strong enough to still flavor my water even when pushed down. It's perfect for me because I hate Culligan water here at work. It occurs to me that I have a very very accurate ense of smell though. To me it's stupid powerful but to others it might be more mild\ineffective.
I wouldn't buy this just for the funny noises it makes when drinking the bottle lol. Imagine drinking water in the middle of a meeting while making that noise 😂
I had to high of expectations. I just bought a $70 water bottle that has a hint of taste. I got the lemon raspberry and it does kinda taste like the flavor but very mild. I also don’t like how much air I suck in. It makes me burp like crazy after
Actually, the mildness of the flavor wouldn't bother me since I heavily dilute water flavoring anyway. I only need a hint of peach. If I want an actual peach, I'll eat one. Unfortunately, my sense of smell isn't that great, but worth a shot if it's cheap enough.
I have an off brand version (because we can't get air up in canada) and it's really good! When used correctly the water was bubbly and tasted like the flavors I used (I got cola and peach) It's actually wild how it worked, I was so skeptical because I hate water lol I bought mine off temu it's the 0% sugar one, it's just hard to find pods for
I ordered one of these last week, amusing enough. Yet another attempt to get myself to drink more water and less soda pop (this time in a way that doesn't still lead to my dentist scolding me for drinking acidic beverages). I feel like I'm drinking more water, but in the attempt to make it work rather than because it works. I can smell the pod by all means, but I don't really "taste" it like you're supposed to. I also tend to not get phased by illusions and things that warp your senses too much though, so maybe it's just a me thing. Either way, it'll keep me distracted and hopefully drinking more water until I either run out of the fancy pods or I get annoyed at the air bubbles (reminds me of being in sports at school and having that one water bottle that never seemed to fully open right so you end up getting a lot of air when you drink lol)
It’s not really fooling your brain that’s just how taste works for some reason. Possible you might just have a weaker sense of smell, my brother has no sense of smell but completely functional taste buds. So despite the fact you’d think he should be able to taste relatively fine he can’t taste much of anything.
I would absolutely lose my mind hanging out with somebody who uses that bottle. My misophonia would not allow said hypothetical person and I to be friends.
Been waiting for air up to release special scent pods such as the Kola Pod for example to the US. I'm not sure if I can order from the UK site, and have it shipped to the US to bypass the wait time for the release if they even do release them.
If not, I have a Cirkul that truthfully I would rather spend a bit more for airup... Really have to suck the scent in first then take in the water is how Cirkul kinda works...
I've suffered though all manner of 'mint' flavored medical crap seeing as I am a disabled war vet and they so love to test me with the most ridiculous hats. So at the dentist the gal that does the polishing (she even understands my super dry sense of humor) I asked if she had anything other than effing mint and she took out orange vanilla polish. It's great in that it's pleasant tasting while polishing and has no after taste.
best thing about Cirkul not only can it add to the water. you can use different bottle and keep the lid. walmart has a brand called "simple modern" they all seem to work with Cirkul lids too. ( also theirs way more lids with Cirkul and most taste great)
By having bubbles happen, they have limited their audience. Those of us that have had surgery for gastric issues shouldn’t drink beverages with bubbles as it causes air in your stomach…
So I have now tried both Cirkul and the Air Up and here is my review, with some context. I don't have much of a sense of taste and a poor sense of smell. The actual flavor that comes with the Cirkul is able to be adjusted to my needs with the dial on the bottle. The Air Up didn't taste like much to me. It reminded me of a drink I had that as my fiance put it 'tasted like it had been in a room with the fruit at some point'.
It's so weird, isn't it? And there's a lot of research to back it up. You can actually give someone a placebo pain medication, TELL them it's a placebo pain medication, and it will still relieve some pain. Like...why? It's fake and you know it's fake!
This reminds me of Hint water with "just a hint of flavor". I discovered with that how a little flavor can taste worse than no flavor at all.

Try sparkling water it go crazi with a little lime
If you want some other options, when I was trying to stop drinking sweet teas every day, I liked diluting 100% fruit juice with sparkling water. It creates a really nice summery drink. At first it was mostly juice, but I gradually changed the ratio to be mostly water as I went.
Also, a couple of leaves of fresh mint / lemongrass / lemon balm / salvia in your water do wonders with the taste.
Keep at it, I'm now drinking pure water and I'm loving the clean taste far more than I did anything else.
@@coryaw95 something for your english class 👍
Hows the noise does it bother you? I'd have to leave the room if anyone was drinking from that by me.

I don't know if I'm right...
this sounds perhaps likely, or he was expecting a stronger flavor.
It literally says in the manual to smell each flavor pod first
yep this appears somewhat psychologically sound as this process of “priming” often helps people become more receptive of certain events or experiences since we know what we’re getting into better and attunes how we frame things or set expectations
… or it could just be that the flavors aren’t as nice 😂
I just got this and the cherry tastes like I'm drinking cleaning chemicals.
Try different flavors. Some are stronger and better than others. What you like, what you can taste might be unique to you.
You can even push it completely down to get no bubbles and just get the smell through the nose!
how should i change the placement
@@gary2184 Just push the pod completely down to stop the bubbles or pull it up a little bit to have a bit of bubbles
What's the point of the bubbles? Does it change the taste or is it supposed to mimic carbonation?

Awesome review of this interesting bottle/drink. I liked you showing you comparing plain water to the drink. Good job!
Love my cirkuls. I got 4 when they were originally on kickstarter. It’s awesome seeing them in stores now. Those original pods weren’t very good and didn’t last long but they have improved. Maybe that’s where Air up is now.
I’ve had mine for a while and actually quite enjoy many of the flavors.
The drinking noises are hilarious, idk y though 😂🤣
I recently purchased the Cirkul water bottle, and I really like it. I've gone from rarely drinking water to drinking 4-5 or more bottles a day. Before that I was drinking a lot of soda. Not to sound like an ad, but it's really helped me to be able to drink the amount of water that my body needs.
me 2 i got it i really like it, i like drinking water but sometimes i want something else but i dont want soda and carbonated water gets expensive so i save that for when im eating food. I wish that i had gotten it sooner.
You drink that much water u gonna die dumass
have you ever tried tru lemon? As someone who hates plain water, it's a game changer and has no artificial sweeteners or preservatives.
It should just go out your mouth or farts. Should be completely safe right?

God damn thats a lot of writing
Mouth breather discrimination lmao
I probably should’ve watched these videos before purchasing
I had a similar idea like 30 years ago. But for something to attach to a spoon for solid foods to simulate (stimulate?) something fatty, like butter. Good to see it could technically work.
you could still do it :)
Of course it works. Smell is responsible for 50% of the taste.
I really enjoyed your review! Great hearing your opinions, and entertaining to watch! Thanks!!
It’s not really a placebo effect since smell is actually a significant amount of flavor
your taste buds and nose are one chamber that is connected. its the same reason you cant taste things when you have a stuffed nose
I really appreciate the honest advice this was a big help. You can tell its honest and true.

For real, i got my Air Up yesterday and i used the vanilla combo, after changing it to peach i can still smell it.
I love the strawberry balsamic but the citrus like lemon and lime are definitely some of the best ones
Thanks for another great video James. Have you heard about the liquid IV ? I’ve been seeing it a lot lately
Yes liquid iv is the real deal for only 16oz of water per packet it definitely hydrates. Lemon lime to me is the best.
It tastes terrible
@@annjfk Yeah, the recommended amounts of sugar are always too high.

You can use these with soda water as well as still. But no beer scent, lol
They should do a beer scent and use it to wean alcoholics off drinking beer
No cause beer is horrible
The problem is they can't reproduce the natural scents and it ends up smelling like a chemical.
Furthermore, we do have taste buds and they do work to some extent.
Who likes the taste of beer???
The bubbles are a dealbreaker for me. Thank you for this video. Didn’t know you needed bubbles.
Yeah the sound from it is definitely a deal breaker! You'd think the company could come up with a way to remove that sound all together? I'd have to pass on this one.
yeah it drives me nuts that sound
I can honestly say ive never met anyone that doesnt like water. I just dont understand it 🤷🏽♂️
I still drink sodas and love southern sweet tea, but ice cold water is amazing.
@edgarnello9165 well today is your lucky day....I can't stand it.

always wanted to try this but it is a bit expensive for me :x thanks for the review
Lol
I would have hiccups and gas from ingesting all those air bubbles. It's a pass from me.
Surprisingly, I haven’t had it all despite daily and consistent use for over 8 months. Would HIGHLY recommend one personally.

And what if your nose was stuffy 😄
I wondered how it compared to cirkul.
Air up works best with light fruity flavours.
mint
that drinking sound though ... i wanna rip my ears off my head
It’s much louder in the video thanks to the mic on his chest compared to in person.
Have you added some lemon juice
I really hate how stevia tastes which is common as a sugar replacement in drink flavors so I’d check for that
I appreciate your honest review bc I see a lot of ads for it
I tried this and I actually liked the flavour but by the end of a day using it I ended up in intense pain and uncomfortable bloating from swallowing all that air. I haven't been able to find anyone else mentioning it but it was unusable for me for that reason. I gave it to someone else who liked it fine
oop that's a nope from me then
yeah hearing all the bubbles as he sips definitely gives red flags. I alr have a sensitive stomach and this would set me off 💀
Very good review, very informative and straight to the point with no bias.
I just ordered mine and got tangerine pods but i wanted to know if when you get one for the first time it comes with the favorite 5

Some flavors suck but wild berry actually taste good
I got these a few years back, back when they started expanding in Europe. When you go in with high expecations, its a little dissapointing.
no shit it tasted watery its water

My OCD was going crazy with that slurping
I was thinking that if I had to sit next to that at work or on an airplane I'd probably say something that would get me in trouble. Obnoxious.
I had to high of expectations. I just bought a $70 water bottle that has a hint of taste. I got the lemon raspberry and it does kinda taste like the flavor but very mild. I also don’t like how much air I suck in. It makes me burp like crazy after
Is it really that hard for people to just drink water?
Apparently. So I guess it's good that AirUp is trying to prevent humanity from going extinct 😅
When used correctly the water was bubbly and tasted like the flavors I used (I got cola and peach)
It's actually wild how it worked, I was so skeptical because I hate water lol I bought mine off temu it's the 0% sugar one, it's just hard to find pods for

I got mine over 8 months ago and have used it everyday. No regrets. I love the thing and I think it works great 🤷♂️.
My brain is fooled by lots of stuff, but I cant seem to get it to be fooled by these various scent products.
It’s not really fooling your brain that’s just how taste works for some reason. Been waiting for air up to release special scent pods such as the Kola Pod for example to the US. I'm not sure if I can order from the UK site, and have it shipped to the US to bypass the wait time for the release if they even do release them.
By the way, pulling it up only lines the holes up. Really doesn't "activate" it. Possibly didn't have the holes lined up on the first pod.
If not, I have a Cirkul that truthfully I would rather spend a bit more for airup... Really have to suck the scent in first then take in the water is how Cirkul kinda works...

So at the dentist the gal that does the polishing (she even understands my super dry sense of humor) I asked if she had anything other than effing mint and she took out orange vanilla polish. It's great in that it's pleasant tasting while polishing and has no after taste.
If they can get it pina Coloda and strawberry are good
@@ayajade6683 It's like a buffet!
best thing about Cirkul not only can it add to the water. you can use different bottle and keep the lid. walmart has a brand called "simple modern" they all seem to work with Cirkul lids too. ( also theirs way more lids with Cirkul and most taste great)
Great review as always!!! Misophinia sufferers, don't listen with headphones, airpods, etc 😂
i want that poster in the background. where did you get that from?.... please tell me
By having bubbles happen, they have limited their audience. Those of us that have had surgery for gastric issues shouldn’t drink beverages with bubbles as it causes air in your stomach…
Even people who don't have that restriction will burp all day long.
I've always wondered how we can trick our brains even though they know they are being tricked
It's so weird, isn't it? And there's a lot of research to back it up. You can actually give someone a placebo pain medication, TELL them it's a placebo pain medication, and it will still relieve some pain. Like...why? It's fake and you know it's fake!
I love this bottle! But there are definitely flavors I like better than others. Cucumber and basil lemon are my favorites!!
Update: I also hate the cherry. Has the same harsh chemical note as the lime. But I *really* liked the Orange Vanilla Swirl.
