Meanwhile there are people like me, I have no clue who these people are XD 2013???, thinking back I think I know exactly why is it like this, everywhere dubstep was being spammed in DNB scenes and I was done with it. I have the same experience with everything else, I quit Radio and TV due to spams of ads, I quit many websites because of the same thing. Soon as you ruin my experience with spreading and mixing things where they don't belong, wasting my time, it's just poison, I am away from it. I think this is why I completely wiped off these people out of my mind. What I am trying to say that this is why many people do this too, not just me. I heard the song on some DNB sets but never knew who these are, didn't even understood the lyrics at all nor I had motivation to look it up, it sounds like everything else I heard and I had better things to do ... Now that I learned the background of it feels like I stepped into a different dimension. Fast forward to today any clown or child can make "music" or generate it with AI, same with art or video. We became zombies, give it 10 up to 20 years and these songs like Afterglow will actually have more meaning, because they come from the last age of humanity in music and is about human experience.
Afterglow is the only track I've ever heard on the radio that's made me actually stop the car and listen to it. I was on the A57 toward Manchester coming back from work in Warrington, stopped right by the canal and that moment is burnt into my mind's eye forever. I'm not up North any more, but every time I stick this tune on I'm transported right back to the warehouse project and the good old days. Thank you Becky, and thank you Wilkinson. What you have created together captures something that neither words nor music alone ever could.
What an inspiring story behind such an iconic track! Becky Hill's journey with Wilkinson on "Afterglow" is truly remarkable. It's incredible to hear how she instantly connected with the beat and created such memorable lyrics in just one session. Her decision to keep her name off the record shows her humility and dedication to the music itself. Thank you, Becky Hill and Wilkinson, for giving us a timeless dance anthem that continues to light up our lives. Grateful for the 18 weeks in the charts and the double platinum success!
Iv liked Becky since she brought this out. Amazing vocalist and writer and she really does like dance music. Her vocals are great to put over trance instrumentals from the early 00s
I 1st heard this song when I started doing clubbercise. Doesn't matter if I'm shattered doing the class generally the second this song comes on i find energy somewhere and I love it. I play it a lot in the car loud. I think if I saw it live I'd struggle not to do the clubbercise routine thankfully there wouldn't be any room for me to do it! I can't hear the song anymore without hearing the clubbercise leader saying instructions but it doesn't ruin it! Love it!
So when Becky HIll was 12 listening to Creeper outside her brothers door, I was nearly retired from raving I'd been going so long. Shit feeling old now. The Zinc tune we Junglists know him for is Super Sharp Shooter, my era.
I thought it was Adele on vocals when I first heard it, such as it’s an amazing vocal delivery. I feel sorry for Becky, that she didn’t feel that she could be credited due to being on The Voice, and worried about ruining Wilkinson’s street cred. Now, she is the headline name on releases. Vocalists are getting the respect they deserve.
I hope you'll do L'amour toujours at some point if you can get Gigi. Having him tell the story and what it's about would be lovely as a response to how it's been hijacked and used for the opposite of its meaning
I think it's cool when artists at any level of fame still get starstruck. One should hope to retain at least enough humility to still have profound admiration for at least a handful of musical royalty.
The problem with her story is, without Wilkinsons name and track, she'd have nothing. She is utterly replaceable. To take credit for everything is a reach at best
How did you arrive at that? Becky clearly says she chose to not put her name on the track, so even though she co wrote it, the song's success was attributed to Wilkinson. She was on the voice, and clearly on people's radars, hence Wilkinson contacting her. She got a record deal and her success a solo artist is all her own doing because her name wasn't even on Afterglow. She has ever right to take equal credit for it, she co wrote it, and the instrumental without vocals would never have chatted. She's super talented, she would be where she is anyway.
One for the sing along crew! What track should we dive into next? 👇
Ghosts n Stuff by Deadmau5 & Rob Swire? 👀
Any Martin garrix songs
Eva Simons needs to get interviewed (will.i.am - This Is Love ft. Eva Simons, Afrojack ft. Eva Simons - Take Over Control)
Ella Henderson - Alibi ft. Rudimental
The Source ft Candi Staton - You've got the love
Afterglow . . . still gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. A perfect vocal, a perfect piece of music, perfect lyrics
Meanwhile there are people like me, I have no clue who these people are XD

One of the biggest anthems of all time was made on this day ! 🙌🏼
Im 46, my daughter is 11, we both love this track and Becky Hill!!!! Follow your ears, follow your heart ❤
Me too - 46, daughter 11, and she found indestructible with Andy C for her aerial/gymnastic routine!
We had our wedding band play this as their final song of the night. Will be forever special!

One of my all time favourites! Been waiting for this 🥳🥳

Nice series, keep em coming!
Loads more incoming!
A good pop song. If I heard it in a club though I'd know I was in the wrong place!
What an amazing tune!
Wow another great song to cover!! Thank you DJ Mag
A classic ❤
I ♥her and her voice 😇
She my lovely girl😍❤
Becky, you're one of us Headz, God bless you!
It is a pretty iconic track, pretty much like a dnb hymn actually
Classic tune!
Wilkinson's also a Trance DJ/Producer 😉 Funnily enough, I eventually settled on my "artist" name based partly on the advice of Mickey Finn 👍😎
Queen of D&B
Lmao oh piss off. She’s naff man
Good stuff
Can you do one with Hardwell about Spaceman?
One of the music that turned dnb into an industry.
I hope you'll do L'amour toujours at some point if you can get Gigi. Having him tell the story and what it's about would be lovely as a response to how it's been hijacked and used for the opposite of its meaning
it's never happening, Gigi's sadly middly insane and doesnt do interviews (and doesnt talk a bit of english)
🔥🔥🔥
Magical
for me, her best track was "Piece of me" with MK
❤🌺❤️🌺
♥

❤
This song was in PES lol
Never heard of it.
I could see her on eastenders
You waited too long Bex, genuinely, you really did. Should go as soon as and catch that vibe soon as you can otherwise it is something you regret.
I remember thinking she sounded like a prepubescent Justin Bieber in this, lol.
nobody outside england heard of this
Marry me
🤣 groupie
