loved seeing the transformation from dusty and neglected to restored and fresh with improvements! It really came alive again and pretty simple to do. time for me to clean up some stuff
OK, your cleaning up of your old kit has given me some ideas. I have a hand made house from occupied Germany after the war. It was sent by my late aunt to my mother, who was 10 at the time. The "doll house " has been through a lot over the years, and in desperate need cleaning and restoration. Thanks for the tips, now I might be able to do something about it.
Great job Doug! Just think 21 years ago if someone were to tell you about 3-D printing. 😉 I have some Athearn blue box rolling stock I need to give this treatment. They have a lot of sentimental value and will always have a place on the layout. A little weathering and the average Joe won’t see the difference between it and a Tangent car. LOL! Thanks for making these videos. We really appreciate it.
The Woodland Scenics Dust Dabber is another option for cleaning - just pinch out a 1/2" bead of the gel and roll it across the dusty surfaces. As the bead gets dirty, you can knead it to expose clean surfaces. When finished, just discard.
Excellent info and video! Question for you. In a couple of the scenes (9:52) during the video there's a rack with a bunch of, I believe, cups? What is that? Or what is it for?
It surprises me if you scratch build a building, especially one that becomes you first in your co venture,, and you didn't put it on the layout. I took art lessons for about two years and I framed every single painting I did . I was asked why since they were not particularly good. I said and felt that , since I painted them and I liked what I had accomplished, why not frame them and hang them. Their still hanging. 😂
So great seeing your first kit. Your kits just keep getting better and better. Your a true artist! Thanks for sharing the restoration tips!
Thanks Jason!
Thanks Doug.🐾🚂.
Old is new once again.. thanks for sharing Doug..

Another educational video - learned some new techniques - thanks again
Fantastic! Those 21 years added extra realistic weathering ;)
Such a great little kit. Glad you gave it some love.
Thanks Craig!
Cool diorama
Thanks, was fun working it way back when.
you did a great job there

3D printing?...that kind of thing only happens on Star Trek....dust off those Athearns.
Great idea for a video
Thanks for watching!
Great seeing you restore the first kit diorama Doug. Maybe you should put that one in a display case.
Nice refresh.
Thanks Jeff!

I’ve used it too. It’s great stuff
Thanks , will check it out.
Looks great! Amazing how much better the concrete sidewalks and street looked after an alcohol bath!
21 years of dust and dirt adds up!
Hi Fos Scale Models. That’s a really awesome module refresh!
It looks great!
New subscriber by the way! Just found your channel!

That’s Doug’s sorters for his detail castings. Been needing to build my own for a while now!
@Keep it Rusty Thanks Rusty!
Keep it Rusty is correct; behind me is where we cast metal parts.
@@FosScaleModels Thank you

Their still hanging. 😂
Always good to keep track of our progress; only way to learn anything. Never put it on a layout, but I do need to get a plexi case for it.
Do you have N scale kits?
Sorry we don't have any N scale kits
