This is still the best version I have listened to. Flawless musicianship, great combination. I have great respect for all these jazz greats! If only world leaders stop fighting and start appreciating good music.... Lotsa love from Malaysia ❤️
I am very happy that there are people who love beautiful Music and let it speak to them but above all they understand it!!! The leaders of the states have no sensibilities and they have no idea about Music,,,,, they only have one idea and that is the big idea they have for themselves and a huge ''ego'' !!! Thank you very much my friend for your comment!!! Greetings from Greece and Thessaloniki!!!
I like to listen to jazz music since I was a teenager. And today I am 78 years old, but every day I discover new pieces like this. Just amazing. Nothing new when such good musicians meet. Another record to add to my playlist...
Learning that listening to one another while playing is as important as listening to one another while speaking, rather than merely formulating what you will play (or speak) next.
Il n'y aura plus jamais sur le a surface de la terre une interprétation de cette composition (Concerto de Aranjuez) aussi subliminale , grandiose , merveilleuse ,tendre , radieuse etc. que celle-ci. Bonne écoute...
I am very happy for the timelessness of this wonderful project !!! And here he is really deified !!! Thank you very much for your comment my friend !!!
I'm glad that a Music theme is automatically a source of inspiration !! I wish your novel to end and touch the world as this wonderful sound touched us !! Thank you very much for your comment !!!
What a soulful, touching, hauntingly moving rendition of one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written this is...Baker and Desmond were incredible artists, as are the backup...
I listen to this masterpiece of music..since i first heard it in 1975. My first son and I listened to him play over the radio. I never heard anything like this. We went out and bought the album! Almost 50 years later it still has that heavenly feeling about it. My feelings run deep. Congratulations....truly Beautiful!!!! Thanks... Sensational 😊
Jim Hall, Guitar. Paul Desmond, Alto Sax. Chet Baker, Trumpet. Roland Hannah, Piano. Ron Carter, Bass. Steve Gadd, Drums. They play together wonderfully, don't they?
I am an old guy but this music suddenly brings back to my memory a girl whom I loved when I was young. in the half-light, gently caressing her hair and feeling her breath on my neck, all so soft and so far away.We dance.
Definitely my favorite version (sorry Miles!). My favorite alto player ever. Miles said of Paul: "A horn just shouldn't be played like that". Yeah, not when it whoops your tail, huh! And yeah, Charlie Parker's favorite alto player (be sure to check out the interview Desmond did with Parker!).
The particular rhythms used in this extended piece are my favorite feature - they appeal specifically to me as does Baker and Desmond's musical genius. Thank you for sharing😊.
The meeting of two such great Musicians in such a classic piece can take off the listener's senses !!! Thank you very much for your comment !!! Music = I share
I love this version and also Monty Alexander's playing on his "Perception" album. Monty's bass player on that album was Paul Desmond's collaborator in the Dave Brubeck Quartet, Eugene Wright.
Actually it's a Jim Hall Album, with a brillant crew : Jim Hall ; guitar Roland Hanna ; piano Ron Carter ;double-bass Steve Gadd ;drum Chet Baker ;trumpet Paul Desmond ; saxophones
This is from the class album “Concerto” by Jim Hall. The gentle intro then....wow...what lovely solo work...so cool...better than the Miles version....
This particular performance was recommended by a friendly piano teacher ... I thank her through my heart for it !! Thank you very much for commenting on it !!
You might want to include the rest of the musicians in the description and maybe change the video title to Jim Hall instead of Chet Baker & Paul Desmond. Anyways, great track!
@@ArnaudSiemons You are right my friend and thank you very much for the information !!! I can not change anything though !!! But you and I will know that I was wrong !!!
