The stock market finances new businesses and expansion of existing businesses. People that lost a significant amount of money in the 08-09 banking crisis when the stock market crashed were reluctant to get back into the market and now we have another crash because of the shutdown. It will take years for these people to get back into the market after getting kicked in the nuts twice in a ten year period. The only reason many people are in the market is because of the dismal interest rate they can receive in a bank. If all this deficit spending creates rampant inflation the national debt will explode, interest rates will have to rise to combat inflation and people will leave the market in droves. I am watching this on 24th May, about one month after the video was posted. At this time the deaths in the USA are around 100k. That seems to conflict with what the guest speaker is saying abut the deaths in the USA. That aside, I agree with almost all, perhaps everything, of his comments. We can't respond to every crisis in the future as we did this time. There is already talk about the feared "second wave." How will that one be handled, I wonder? This virus scare was not handled intelligently, in my opinion. We SHOULD have protected the vulnerable (we know who they are), wear PPE or work from home if you can, if you work or leave your home, distance intelligently and be aware of who you are in contact with and what you are touching, and wash hand frequently. Now that a month has passed since this was first posted, can we have an update with the same guest and a different interviewer.
