As most of you already know, I'm both a huge fan of Hiroyuki Sawano and AoT! That's why I keep making these, and why I don't have any plans to stop :)
"omake-pfadlib" is perhaps the most well known piano solo from the series, it plays during several important moments in the first season, as well as the end of the "No Regrets" OVA series. The latter is of course where the nickname for the piece came from, that's what it's mostly known as on UA-cam. Not dissimilar to how many people know "ThanksAT" as "Levi's Choice", though the reasons for the naming might not be the same (the soundtrack hadn't come out yet so I had to make up a title).
The piece itself as most piano solos by Sawano is easy to play, but keeps a dynamic tempo and was not recorded with a metronome, so it's not easy to recreate perfectly in a recording. I think I got all the notes correctly, but I knowingly played it in my own tempo as it's impossible to replicate another player's "free" tempo perfectly while having it sound natural. At least that's my opinion on it! But I made sure the tempo range used is almost identical. It mostly keeps between 60-70 bpm, but goes higher towards the end. Please let me know what you think! Of course I can't play as well as Sawano-san, but I hope I did the piece justice.

Ever since I started listening to the AOT soundtracks in 2014 I just fell in love with all the ost, I'm not sure why but they're so calming to me. I am still trying to learn most of the pieces on piano and some of my favorite pieces to play are : Omake pfadlib, Levi's choice, Vogel im Kafig, YouSeeBIGGIRL/T:T, Red Swan, and Liberio at night.
The same thing happens to me, since I met SNK, their songs are the best I've heard, they give a good feeling

You are the best composer ever, I love every single composition that you make, the fingering isn't crazily complicated like Animenz/Fonzi but is still beautiful and I think even in par with their complicated composition because you always gets the 'feeling' and the 'important melody' of the piece. Of course, the important thing about composition is that normal people can actually play them, that's what I love from your music...AND IT'S FREE TOO!! Love u, thanks a bunch and stay gold :DD

You say that it's impossible to replicate the tempo of the original song, but I think it's possible. If you don't mind, I would really like to hear what you think of the tempo of my version :)

Indeed, impossible is a strong word. You can make it line up perfectly but for me personally I prefer going with my gut on the free tempos, as long as it’s within the same tempo scope. Because that’s how most people who plays the sheet music will also do, at least in my mind. Anyhow, your version sounds great too ☺️ and thanks!
@@TorbyBrand I totally agree that you have to play with your instinct on the free tempos, that's what I do most of the time (all the time actually, except maybe for my omake-pfadlib cover) and that's also how others will play :)

The beginning wasn’t really accurate. If you listen to the real track you’ll notice that your timings are a bit rushed.
But everything else was actually good, sorry for the hate, should have watched the entire video.
