    We actually did make it longer to avoid hip-bottle problem:P We've noticed that on early samples like yours too. Great review, thanks!

      @@avenpace same issue for me. I believe it depends of the seat cage, but woho annonces that it fits all seats. I mean, it is great for the swang, but i cant use is with bottle cages (im 180cm for 70kg, not a big bum...)

    Bought it. It works extremely well with my large Ortlieb Large Seat Pack! Russ is right though, water bottles hit my tail. And I'm pretty sure I got one of the newer production models (received 05/26/18) -- guess I have a bubble butt :-)
    I'm considering taking a small piece of flat metal, drilling a couple holes, installing it on the top water bottle mount and then angling the top of the water bottle cage back. Even if I can't get the water bottle thing to work, I like it and keep it for a stabilizer.

    Great vid, per usual. I bought one of these a couple of months ago and needed it for the extra water bottle cages plus the anti-sway feature. I only have a 47cm frame. So, I don’t have room for 2 water bottle cages in the frame. I must say that it works so well I now prefer to grab my water bottles from behind the seat. So, yeah, I’m a little dude with a little butt.

    Russ take a look at the Topeak Versamounts - great cheap way of mounting extra bottle carriers on any frame or fork.

    • @wOhst
      @wOhst 4 роки тому +1

      Topeak also has an adapter to change the position of the bottle cage up or down. So they could be some centimeters closer to the ground this way and the ass problem is solved.

    Nice review, Russ. One thing that really puts me off is that the rails of the Woho are not indented/curved for the saddle rails to sit into. No way do I want to crush the rails of my spendy Brooks saddle with a flat fitting.

  • @nikveldkamp8630
    @nikveldkamp8630 4 роки тому +1

    Saw this too late - DIYed a similar thing from the Minoura SBH300. The minoura has a nice finish, brass bosses for the bottle cages (under the saddle less nice after bending it).
    Counterplate looks similar to the Woho/Brooks assemly works fine for several of my saddles.
    Though after bending the arms I had to re-cut the threading for the saddle plate, maybe i should have put in a greased steel screw before bending? Is still too narrow, since the bottles aren't mounted sideways - at least they don't interfere at all!
    PLUS, as I use no carbon rails, so I did use it succesfilly as a load stabilizer AND even strapped extra large rolltop bags tight against the SBH300.
    No Problems so far after 1600km.

    Do you think it would help if they “rotate” the bottle cage mounts back at some angle rather than perpendicular to the bag?

    • @adamghahate3323
      @adamghahate3323 6 років тому

      I agree!
      Maybe if they added a radial gusset on the outside of that last 90 degree bend with a slot(or holes) in it for the top bottle cage bolt to mount to?
      That way the user could select an angle for the cages and bottles by rotating it away from the butt or closer to it depending on the setup and riding position, without redesigning the position of the lowest part of the device and introducing minimal weight to the product? the problem of course is it might require an additional manufacturing step to weld on that gusset. Doing it this way would be more efficient loading wise as you wouldnt have to make the arms longer and increase the leverage that might lead to failure of the seat rail clamp just to get the bottles away from the butt.

    What is the width between woho rails? Meaning does this width prevent you from stuffing the bag too much?

  • @Seiti
    @Seiti 4 роки тому

    Can it be used as anti swag when using a carradice like saddle bike? As I'm a bit short, my saddle is low enough for my bag to touch the rear tire... :( Maybe making it swag less would help.

    Hi, I don’t have any issues with he seat post bag moving at all on my bike set up, however I am interested in the ability to have 2 mounted water bottles on either side. Do you know if the up-dated version is better & or if there is anything else on the market just to carry the water bottles while having the bag in place.

    Wondering if you have reviewed RailWing Seat Bag Stabilizer. They have 3 version of this Stabilizers. 2 for their seatbags and 1 for other brands seatbags. If have reviewed this it would be great if you point me to the link. If not I think it would make new review.

    Looks like you could mount the bottle cages on the *inside* of the device, but that turns it into an either/or situation (extra bottle holder OR bag sway fixer, but not both)

  • @Bikepacking
    @Bikepacking 6 років тому +1

    I got it not for the swaying part as my seatpost bags don't have that problem i got for carry extra water , it could be better design if the bar is more angled facing away from your butt it will work or using just 500 ml bottle ie short bottles. works fine

    If you really want to use the bottle mounts, get a Wolftooth B-Rad to lower the cages.

      21g per side, 42g total to comfortably carry extra bottles seems like a reasonable trade off.

    Great review Russ. I was going to buy this because I have some wag (although it's not that annoying...only when taking off), but the additional two water cages was a huge selling point for me. I think I'll wait for this to hit production and get feedback from other purchasers.

    Russ, You were right in last video about narrow tires on Cutthroat. I was compulsive and purchased WTB Nano 50mm, to put in some miles for Steamboat Spring, RambleRide.
    The Cutthroat is faster then the stock tires, but looks weird and I lost that “Supple Feeling” Lol
    Suggestions??? I know you’re riding/training on 50mm for DKZ, but would you recommend same for bike-packing on the RambleRide?
    Cheers,

  • @ZuBlah

    I had one and used it for several trips. I would remove it when not
    bikepacking and eventually had to throw it away due to the railing mount
    being warped and stressed. Would not recommend until they fix the
    mounting system along the rails.

    Hey Russ, here's one for you. I have an Ortleib saddle bag - which I love and have done many trips with but now due to my investment in ass comfort I have an issue. I've recently installed a Redshift Sports seatpost which is absolutely brilliant (recommend you review one) but when you have the post with the bag, because of the way the bag mounts to the post and the seat rails, there is a fail. Maybe something you could look into for a solution / future video?

    Hi. It's just aluminum, I just bent the 90 ° angle a little smaller. This increases the distance between the bottle and the saddle, so that even 1 liter drinking bottles are no longer a problem. MbG

    If the water bottle mount arms flared into more of a triangle at the bottom or had some other bracket added to them then the mounting holes could allow a bottle to point backwards instead of straight up and should avoid the booty block

So tried a Seatpost rack strong and stable and holds 20L bag. Woohoo, can even fit my sleeping bag now on the duelly😂🚵. Had racks for 40 yrs, the way to go...

    Bought 2x of these last year and used them on a moderate Gravel/Mountain bike route with bottle cages....
    My Sons lasted 4hrs ... mine a little longer .
    Would need to be re-designed to be reliable enough to carry water ( Steel maybe?)
    A bit disappointing really ....
