No Indian culture was very open, liberal and sexually liberated but things started to go downhill sometime after the Muslim invasion started in the early 8th or 9th century because to face the invaders people needed a more radical approach than a liberal one. It became about survival The British just added salt to the wound.
Akash needs to update himself on Indian history... Lots of false facts in this discussion. Also, no understanding of Hinduism. Kama of Hinduism has nothing to do with sexual excesses of the Romans. Kama is a deep and beautiful concept. Kamasutra is also a very deep and beautiful book. Sexual positions is just one chapter. Other chapters deal more with relationships/desire/seduction and it is more empowing to woman.
These guys have zero knowledge about Indian history! Alexander lost to poros and different Indian kingdoms alot of time that led to his death! How come he died just after the battle with porus!
Please get indians who actually know indian history.. the real traumatic invasions started with the arabs, then the ottoman turks, then the islamic mongols, the extremely regressive Portuguese and finally the Victorian british
A Google search shows that Alexander won against Porus and was winning before he fell Ill and left. Sure his army got weak, but he still won that battle.
@@AnjelLee-f8c It's one thing to fight and win against a local ruler. It's another to fight against the Nandas when they were at their peak. There were more than enough reasons for his soldiers to get tired of the idea of continuing the campaign, especially when they were already halfway across the continent and could potentially lose everything if they lost against a powerful empire.
True Akash, 1. Invasion from west and Central Asia changed culture and conversation 2. Any NRI remembers or percieve India from the year he left India. India as global as any other country.
And about Alexander the so called great Western people try to glorify him but story in my part of the world is that he wanted to fight Dhana nand but after realising that Dhana nanda possessed 10 times the power of his army and after facing the fierce opposition of a very small king Puru his army mutinied against his decision and he was poisoned and killed. People often don't believe that Puru was defeated too since the campaign of Alexander kind of halted with Puru and that was very unlike the nature of Alexander and could have only happened if he faced defeat.

Mainlanders are misinformed as per usual. Alexander was winning and won against Porus. He reinstated him as ruler because he fought a brave fight but Porus LOST.

Alexander didn't conquer India.. he attacked Indai but was not able to get a victory...
I thought the same as you but when I googled it, he seemed to be actually winning. He left because he fell Ill. Pretty weak kingdoms he beat though.

Alexander died after his campaign in India. He died on his return from India. He was either poisoned by his men or injured in battle.
Malaria, we nepalese got the scoop.. But these indian nationalists and supremacists😂 will tell u otherwise.
I can be sure that they haven’t even read ‘the sutra’ 🤦🏻♂️ only one chapter is about that subject, it is much more than that.
There was 800 years of Islam before the 200 years of British. So, both of them did us in.
Islam in itself is 600 yrs😂🤡

He did not. Why would his soldiers want to leave if they were winning.

There was an Indi-Greek empire. The Greeks did not rule India.
