Great video. You found some real interesting places. And the unreal beauty there just makes you want to hike. Another place I wanted to check out was the multi billion dollar lab they used to learn about survival on mars. Somewhere between Tucson and Phoenix

Nice, PeeWee! Happy Thanksgiving to you as well. You're really close to that Titan II Missile Museum and silo in Green Valley, go check that out while you're there. It's very, very worthwhile.

Have you been to Ajo? Near Organ Pipe. Revitalized recently, check out the converted school. Mining history, indigenous history, border history, and generally a neat small town.

Really interesting video! I kept getting interrupted but finally got to finish it. I was surprised at the black bear! Loved the museum and awed at the size of the missile! Great video! Wish I could go directly to #145 but I've got to get a turkey in the oven. Thanks Grand Adventure! Happy Thanksgiving!

That Gilbert Ray campground looked awesome. Love the scenery around there.
The initial part of the Brown loop looked like a real ankle breaker.
I noticed you walking with two hiking poles. I do not recall you ever doing that before. Is there a specific reason that you are using them?
    Nice museum.
I think we would like to go to the places in this video. I’ll have to put it on our list.
    Thanks Marc.

Hey Ram! I've had trekking poles (and in particular, those carbon fiber ones from Black Diamond) for many years. Whether or not I bring them depends on the nature of the trail. This was a good one to have them on.
The Tucson Mountains are a wonderful place to visit. Highly recommended.

Great information! We are traveling out West in May from NC and Tucson is one of our stops on the return trip. I have been to the museum twice but that was 30 and 40 years ago, looks like it has really grown, we will definitely visit. Also looking for a great Tostada and Margarita. We are staying at the Catalina State Park. Like you we have limited time and are really looking forward to being in the desert again.

Well done Marc! You’ve captured Tucson perfectly. We’ve traveled from our home in Southern California to Tucson annually (sometimes twice each year) for the past 30 years. We don’t have family here…we just love the place. Nearly all of that time we’ve been members of the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum (you excellently covered this gem). The past 8 years, since retirement and since purchasing our RV, we’ve stayed and enjoyed our week at Gilbert Ray, and other camping for a month or more in the greater Tucson area. We will be at Gilbert Ray as soon as we pry ourselves out of Southern New Mexico. Happy Thanksgiving Marc (and Mrs. Grand Adventure)…and safe travels.
