“Not everything can be your favourite!” - people who haven’t tasted THE PASSION
Yeah, it's called OPINION.
There's supposed to be quotations.
I love the fact that your house looks like people live in it and your kitchen looks like you use it. So many cooking channels are or look like they are filmed in a studio. It makes me feel like i could actually do this
i like how he basically has 1 large carving board and a tiny little bit of counter space to the side of it as his whole prep space instead of some 10 foot wide studio kitchen island with all the ingredients already prepped in 20 different bowls and containers taking up a space the size of a small parking space.
Same
he mixed smashed chick peas with ground poultry? Even if he had a studio I dont see how it can look severely difficult
@@codyjackh8051 No one said it looks difficult.

Hi Kenji. I made these tonight for my husband, but an Indian version - no cheese, pav bhaji spices, garlic and ginger, green onion and cilantro in the patty. Made a mint chutney mayo, added tamarind chutney as sauces. Lettuce, on a bolillo roll.
This is outstanding. I am adding this into the meal rotation. It's so versatile! Thank you!
That sounds delicious!
I love seeing Shabu, but I always get extra excited when Jamón decides to show up too.
Two Dog Bite. It gives me Joy.
It's always funny that a part Asian guy named his dogs after foods. Love Kenji's stuff though.
Garbonzo beans are pretty trendy these days. It's fashionable to put them in all sorts of recipes calling for legumes. They're pretty chic peas!
You, Sir, are amazing and you have won the internet!
What’s the difference between a garbonzo bean and a chickpea?
I’ve never had a garbonzo bean on my face
**angry like**
Nice.
@@karlastormborn5467 thats horrendous. I love it
"Don't ask me why this onion was cut this way. I don't know."
We know why, Kenji.
@@0fficialRatedR In an earlier video he was cutting an onion that had an odd slice taken out of it and mentioned that his wife cuts onions different than he does.
Underrated comment hahaha
My girlfriend is convinced I love Kenji more than I love her. And I do
Big gey
I've made it quite clear that I love Kenji more.
Sean Conner same. Difference being I don't have a girlfriend. It's just not possible to not love Kenji. Kenji ♥️ You have my heart. You've helped me and so many others with the quarantine. Every morning I used to watch your videos before "properly getting on with my day" and I don't know it almost became like a routine. And people need routine. Especially right now when the concept of routine is pretty much out the window.
Obviously she needs to learn to cook. Really well.
"no one's coming to take your burgers" wrong Kenji, I'm coming for them. I will eat them all.
You’re a real one for showing out to the protests Kenji. Respect
Yes ! Lots of cooking youtubers (like STCG) prefer to remain silent
Fcking bunch of hypocrites
Kenji is much more than a chef. He is a great person
This changed my view on chicken burgers forever. Made these this weekend, so unexpectedly easy and amazing juicy.
Production value went up tenfold with that 80s style outro
I swear, it was hilarious, especially that jamón freeze-frame at the end😂😂
That was shabu.
@@JKenjiLopezAlt im confused with your comment for a moment because in Filipino, "shabu" is another term for meth.
@@JKenjiLopezAlt oh snap, I didn't realize I'd gotten confused😂 I meant Shabu!
I love that it always takes 2-3 attempts to find the right drawer
11:20 As a salesperson, I absolutely love how Kenji just straight up addresses and wrecks objections... “‘WhY nOt JuSt eAt a hAmBurGeR iF yOu wAnT a HaMbUrGeR?!’ That’s not the point! _flushes the haters down the disposal_ ... *NO ONE IS COMING TO TAKE YOUR BURGERS* !!”😂
Please don’t ever stop doing these recipes it helps me out more than you know for just staying healthy fresh and experimental so many thanks 🙏🏼
Thanks Kenji, you are really teaching me how to improvise, be a better cook, and focus on what really matters when cooking!! Your series has really improved my quality of life!
Easily the best cooking program on UA-cam. I could listen to your voice for hours
Kenji going green? We all going green then boys!!
ill feel sad for shibu

I’m looking for a good tofu recipe
Kenji is the only man I trust to make a delicious one
@@JohnHausser As kenji recommends, look at chinese cooking demystified. They have a bunch of awesome tofu recipes.
these videos are such a blessing
Great recipe! Can't wait to try these with my family 4th of July weekend!
Also, thank you for participating in a protest. It's really nice to see people I already look up to / admire taking action and making me like them even more! Much respect, chef!
This looks absolutely delicious and so simple! Your videos have become such a great source of joy and inspiration for me during quarantine. Thank you for sharing yourself with the world!
Made these tonight and they were amazing - many thanks, Kenji!
Never made a Chicken burger in my life...and these are awesome! My hubs has some medical issues so we eat low-fat, these fit the plan AND have great flavor. Thank you Kenji
This was such a great burger - have seriously made it twice this week and every family member loved it!! Small kids, medium kids, big kids, wife.. everyone ! Thank you so much for this!
I love how over the course of the show Hamon started coming for a snack too ^^
That there's real character development.
So I made these last night and they are INCREDIBLE. Lots of flavor, super moist inside, smelled amazing on the grill.
10/10 absolutely will make again.
We made these today and they were delicious!!! Thanks for sharing this recipe!
I was waiting for this!!! Thank you!!
Looks phenomenal - I can't wait to try it!
If you've never tried green chile, I highly recommend it. Anaheim is the California variety, but the crop was originally developed in New Mexico (and New Mexico green chile is still the best!). It's got an earthiness that you don't get from many other chiles, but it's also floral and smoky. As far as peppers go, it's usually pretty mild, but there are some cultivars that will leave you sweating and sniffling for hours. Green chile is also an amazing pizza topping; plenty of restaurants here in New Mexico serve it with pine nuts (piñons) and chicken! Green chile is also the same plant as red chile, but the red chile has been allowed to mature. Red chile is a lot smokier and usually more spicy, but you lose some of the floral qualities in a good green chile!
This made me sooo hungry will definitely give this a try, as always great video Kenji :)
Kenji is the champion of making food unpretentious.
Always nice when an earwax removal kit ad comes up in the middle of these delicious videos.
In the words of Chef John, "wet hands make smooth balls."
Love your vibe so much!!! Greez from Germany 🤗
Absolutely love the outro Kenji
Love this cook show!! ❤️❤️❤️🤗
Amazing how He kneeds the "dough", real chef
I have made these burgers so many times and they are incredible. We have them with a lettuce wrap and they hit the spot every time! Top 5 for me
New record for hand washes in a single video
The beautifully natural light
I made these based on the Chop Chop recipe. They were absolutely delicious. I’ve also discovered that the cilantro and garlic mayo from your Elote recipe is fantastic on a burger so I used that too. Thank you for the wonderful recipes!
Cilantro and garlic mayo? That sounds amazing!! And absolutely yes on a burger!!
Amazing recipes Kenji, i'm new in your channel and you seem like a nice and simple guy with a lot of talent... thanks for sharing
this is great, excited to try these out.
Average person: indent the middle of the patty. Science nerd: make it look like a red blood cell. Yes!
You are, after all, the hemoglobin of your burger lovin’. Captain Stubens of your bilirubins. Don’t be anemic to your chickpea scheming :🤓
@@jonathannagel7427 easy there chef jo(h)n
Aaah this is finally here! Thanks.
I love it how Kenji brings the finished dish to his sliding door to the deck as if the lighting makes a difference. It doesn't, but the food still looks great!
The lighting is better by the door, and better-looking food tastes better.
Awesome recipe! Looks so good I’ll have to try it
I love when you feed the pups ;)
Chop Chop is wonderful.
King Kenji
Kenji, when are you going to hit us with that lactofermented pickle video you teased a few weeks ago? Thanks for all the great content. Best channel on UA-cam!
YES I BEEN WAITINGFOR THIS ONE
Question: why did you put the onion back already sliced? Is that alright to leave it out? How long? Thank you for your awesome videos and incredible information.
Yes!!!! Been looking forwRd to this since the start
made this today for lunch, friggin awesome.
Alright! Been waiting for this! Gonna make it this weekend and havent even finished the video.
I’m from New Mexico and the local store roasts green chili every year. The best stuff ever! Also, I can’t wait to try this burger! I’m for sure subscribing to this food magazine.
This looks excellent. Been eating a fair amount of chicken and chickpeas, this will be a nice twist. Will be making this this weekend.
I’ve made this type of burger and it’s soooo good!
Would not usually be interesting to me, but to your credit of talent and demeanor, you make everything you cook sound good. Love after the first bite, you said: "Oh boy!"
This looks really good! One day I’ll cook some of the stuff on your channel.
Made these with Turkey for dinner tonight, they were great! Thanks Kenji
I've never seen that outro, it is amazing :D
oh my god this looks delicious 😩
Your buns look good, where can I find those?
Right at the top of my legs, thanks for the compliment I’ve been working out.

J. Kenji López-Alt absolute madman
Those look like delicious brioche buns. Yummy.
The recipe sounds good, but I gotta compliment the construction of that burger. The diameter of the patty really is perfect for that bun size. Excited to try this
Please please please PLEASE make a video on that vegan mayo you're talking about!! I don't eat eggs and I miss mayo so much!
Made this for dinner tonight- delicious. Everyone thought it tasted like chicken, not chicken+chickpeas, and the texture was very pleasant.
As someone who just started learning how to use chickpeas in their cooking, this video is perfectly timed. Looks dank
The ground chicken I usually get is more of a coarser, chili grind. Does it need to be finely ground to stay together?
I put pesto on mine, complimented it very well.
Made these burgers for dinner tonight. Freaking delicious!!
Hey man loving this channel since I recently subscribed. I was wondering if you could provide your thoughts on the flavors/textures behind the dishes you make as you eat them. I don’t mean to tell you how to run your videos, I just wish I had the in the moment thoughts/reactions to your dishes. It’s also possible that you already do this in other videos I haven’t seen.
Whirley Pop! Would love a video of how you make your popcorn, I’m still perfecting my Whirley Pop method and need tips!!
hi, what to do with dry chickpeas? how long should i cook it for this and should i soak it over night? love your videos
as a vegetarian I really appreciate this Kenji!
turkey is not vegetarian but okay
@@isaaccook2877 it was more the idea of using chickpeas as a component for a veggie patty. And the use of aquafaba for vegan mayo!
Have you seen his recipe for black bean burgers? They do contain cheese and egg, but you said vegetarian rather than vegan. And they're amazing. You can find it on Serious Eats.
holy crap this is genius. Thanks, Kenji. Definitely taking a stab at it this weekend.
does my onion need to be the same shape as yours?
Underrated comment
Yes.
Could you also do these smash burger style or is this better with a larger patty?
You once wrote that eggplant really adds a depth of flavor to turkey/chicken burgers (along with other umami boosters), and I tried it and completely agree. How do these compare to using eggplant. Also, do you recommend adding the soy sauce, etc. to this as well?
Really cool idea for the magazine. I was surprised after mom mom had a heart attack they didn’t give her cook books or much nutritional advice at all. That’s a great idea to have the news letters
Yummm . Still thinking about making the cast iron maintenance video you alluded to in a previous video?
Made these on Saturday and they were absolutely delicious, I had to use pecorino instead of parmigiano though! Only tricky thing is to see when they're done.
Beef isn’t my child’s first choice in meat at all and she loved these! Watched the falafel vid and wondered if using rehydrated chickpeas do anything in this application like falafel?
Hey Kenji, ever thought about making Käsesplätzle? To embrace the carbs and cheese meme 😁
As a Swabian I am offended that you miswrote Käsespätzle :C but yeah it's a great dish and comparably easy to make
He did: ua-cam.com/video/ntwZfErKJEg/v-deo.html
@@suzannel1226 thats right :) but Käsespätzle is a Variation with cheese, a bit like mac n cheese
Looks so good! might make with an Asian / Thai flavor profile as well?
Hi Kenji. Is it the chickpeas in here that allow you to put salt in the burger, or is that something that would work with an all chicken burger without toughening it? Thanks so much for these awesome videos!
I can't wait to try this with turkey, looks delicious!!!!
I tried this today but instead made a burger and gravy dish with the one you made on your swedish meatballs recipe and it turned out fire🔥🔥🔥
I'd be very interested/grateful for a full on veggie burger vid. Tried a few mixes, none of which have been particularly nice.
PS. Really great channel, bud
I'm definitely excited about this recipe!! I was a vegan and I loved it, healthiest I've ever been. I want to slowly start eating a more plant based diet, so I feel like this is a good stepping stone recipe!! I think I am going to grind up my dark meat turkey though and leave my white meat to the smoker!
loving that outro
What's a good chickpea replacement, corn+ cornstarch slurry?
Mixing in silken tofu with beef for a lighter hamburg steak works, so definitely going to try chickpeas with meat.
Hey Kenji
Would you also recommend using pork mince?
That outro is 👌
Hell yeah protesting Kenji u love to hear it
I like to mix in lemongrass, garlic, ginger, and then top it with hoisin and some quick pickle vegetables. Also mix in a bit of pork if I have it
Hi! I was thinking of turning these into meatballs - do you think it may work and how would you recommend I cook it (still in a pan or in the oven instead)?
I love you Kenji
