Fantastic pickups! Always wanted that Doom Patrol issue as well, such a great cover where most of them actually meet their end which was so unusual for DC at that time.
That wrestling book. Outstanding just outstanding. I have a copy of comic chronicles. I have the war issue. They do a wonderful job. Just found your channel. I like it. Jess
Nice Hauls! I have some theories about "key " comic prices, particularly at cons, being a little stubborn coming down. I think we would all be surprised at the number of new dealers who got into the business during this last boom period. They acquired a taste for high prices that so many were willing to accept and now they are very reluctant to come down in fear of losing those dollars. Maybe they have too much in the books, maybe they don't want to leave potential dollars on the table, whatever, but I think it's going to take some more time. A couple hot Marvel or DC movies in the interim may slow down things even further but I would expect things to move back to "normal" or historical prices/values/etc. once the memory of those 2021/2022 record prices fades. I try to find dealers who are into comics as a business, not a hobby, side hack, or whatever. Ones who want to move books and not just show off the wonder wall. If the wall books look the same from month-to-month, their prices in general are too high. If they have a "PC", I already know their prices are probably on the high end. Anyway, sorry for the long post. I can go on and on about the subject.
Great pick ups Schoon! Bummed that the Captain and I missed you out there! It was a madhouse nonetheless! Love how you found a wrestling book and then a comic featuring Rocca vs. Superman! Did you know that DC reprinted Mohammad Ali vs. Superman and it is coming out this week! Anyways, great pick ups and that Doom Patrol #121 final book is fascinating- learning something new and I love it!
Nice books. Is your wife also a collector? And when you are in the learning stage, budget stage or cannot leave those 10 cent books behind stage, introduce yourself to the owner of your three or four closest LCSs. Strike up a conversation, let them get to know you. Then ask if he or she has a box for the low grade golden and silver age books that are TOO low grade for his serious money collectors. You will be surprised what will be in that $1, $2, $3, $4 dollar box, and what can be made to present much better with a cleaning and pressing. The defects will likely keep them low grade - but you will have a book in your collection. Then you might swap it out with a higher grade in the future. You can pass those low grade golden age books on to a future collector as they are starting and learning.
I can fill you in on where the omnibus books and other graphic novels from Ollies are going, by the cartload. We frequent the same Ollies. The proprietor of the superhero museum in the town east of us, E_____t, is stocking his business with them for resale. When he had a convention of sorts, he really wiped out the Ollies stock. He will especially go after the mainstream hero titles. I never did see the Phoenix omnibus you found, no doubt he beat me to that one...! I collect mostly Golden Age omnis however, and thankfully he is less interested in those.

@@michaelmayrend313 Thanks! I’ll have to try that with the local shops. My wife collects but on a much smaller scale.

Great haul 👍 is that power of shazam an original GN or collected power of shazam comics?
@@thecomiccollector2020 Thanks. Original work that led to the ongoing series.
@@SchoonsComics thank you, I thought I had all the power of Shazam stuff so I appreciate the info 👍
