The low cut filters on these t.bone mics is generally good. Not too aggressive and it helps a lot in vocals outside of streaming and podcasting.

Glad that you did a lil portion of the sound comparison. Man i love the sound output of T Bone as well as the looks. Clearly the design took inspiration from Shure and I'm glad they did because it a good alternative for that ever so expensive brand. i agree with you the sound has more character than Shure.

@@ObscureMics Thank you for such a kind reply, sir! The pleasure is all on this end. That's what she said, but I think I need to bug you one more time about this mic...
Because I think I maybe just found a sort-of fix for that loose axis / jiggly mount issue (at least enough to share 🤷‍♂️)...
So, I'm using it on the Rode PSA-1 boom stand which already allows mics to spin. So on a stand like that, you really don't need the built-in mount on the T-Bone to spin, you know? So I just noticed that all you have to do is tighten the 5/8" to 3/8" adapter all the way. Just use the slot to twist it in, and once it's tight, the whole mount becomes totally solid and stable. Zero jiggling. And the slot still protrudes out, so it's totally easy to loosen it again if you want to mount it on a non-swivel stand.
Maybe I'm missing something and this was already obvious, but it totally cured the issue for me, so I thought it was worth sharing. Hope it at least made sense 🤔
      💥💥 T-Bone POWER!! 💥💥

Some expensive mics are expensive simply because of the brand. Though some of them do have exceptional build quality. A lot of the mics use the same kind of capsules. So often if you've got a fancy ass mic that you want... like a neumann. You can probably find something a little cheaper and maybe not even worse.
I tend to use an mb85 beta for online chatting and stuff. But I've been through quite a few mics for vocals and I'm now using an sc1100 from T.Bone. So far? Better than my Rode-NT1. Like actually genuinely pleasant.
Channels like this are partly to blame for me having developed a hoarder mentality with mics though XD

Wow! Your voice sounds incredible on this mic. We have a similar timbre, so I imagine mine would sound good as well. I haven't tried an SM7B (yet?) because it just seems way overhyped and EVERYONE seems to have one. It does sound decent for many people, but it's not a sure (Ha! Get it?) thing. This is one that I am definitely interested in trying. Thanks for the review!

Oh man... this is a bit brighter than SM7B, but the smoothness and as you said - character - is there, I really like it! The high-pass filter is also one of the best I've seen I think. The presence boost is a bit sharp to my ears though. But I imagine for very low voices it may suit. Eh, so many SM7B-like mics I'm considering, this one is available to me contrary to FDUCE SL40 - and I think the price for me considering FDUCE shipping if I'd really want to get it would be very close. I'm happy to see these on your channel, as an user of SC400 from T.Bone ;)
Great to hear also you've had a superb time at your vacation, hope you recharged your batteries for more discord shameless plugs, like this one. We're available in even more countries than Thomann, and we're free!

@@ObscureMics In the meantime I was able to compare the BC 500 with the SM57. The BC500 in the flat setting provides a slightly smoother low end than the SM57. The mids are similar but the high end of the BC500 is a bit more "tamed" compared to the SM57. I am really surprised by the sound quality the BC500 provides for spoken word. As you said in your video - you will not offend anyone with this sound. I still think that the SM7b is a bit superior, as it provides more clarity and sounds a bit smoother overall but at almost 4 times the price.

Hey Bark - It's been about seven months since this review and I was wondering if you ever go back to this mic and where it ranks among other similar competitors. Especially against ones like the SE DCM3/6, the Maono PD400X, and the legion of other Chinese "broadcast-style" MV7 clones and SM7B wannabes.
I have a certain affinity for this company. My last name is very close to the founder of this company's, and a few years ago my good friends got me a Thomann T-shirt because of it. It would be especially fitting to get one of their mics. I'm pretty set for podcast mics at the moment, so I'm looking at getting one of their SDC pairs first, but this one looks like a really attractive piece of kit.

i don’t know if it’s still true, but back in the 90s Shure supposedly made the capsules for 57s and 58s in the same assembly line and the difference between them was due to manufacturing tolerances in the diaphragms. they tested the capsules after assembly and the capsules with more of a hump at 10k went into 58s, the rest went into 57s. makes me wonder if that’s where the difference between these different mics come from…
