My home ❤ He said: Let's take a picture. Ok, you took a picture with the "baiano"! (that's how we call people from Bahia) And then he started to show you the food he was selling. Yea that's my people, so friendly and positive. I'm so proud to be born and raised here. Salvador is known as the "city of joy" for a reason. Thanks for your video 🙂
Mesmo aqui! Eu estive no estado de São Paulo. Campinas, São Paulo, Guarujá. Já estive em Minas Gerais (foi muito legal!) Mas NADA se compara a Salvador da Bahia!!!!
A very Welcome to Brazil my american brother! Salvador is the best city und the true history of Brazil and of all Americas. I love this city and the people!
man, i can't believe you didn't get to the beach to check the water. The northeast water in Brazil is warm all over the year. it's kinda like in Philippines, specially in the low tides when some natural pools come out. There are pretty beautiful beaches surrounding Salvador, like Praia do forte, Itacimirim, Boipeba, Morro de São Paulo, Barra Grande, Costa do Sauipe... pretty safe places, some beautiful villages, resorts, 'pousadas', nice vibe... Can't believe you missed that.
Salvador is amazing. We are doing real estate tours in Salvador and Bahia for those seeking to buy investment properties. Such a great place to have an Airbnb and a place to do Carnival every year!
You're in my second favorite city of Brazil, right behind São Paulo. I last visited Salvador last year in May and before that in 2019. I stayed in Barra, Rio Vermelho, and Amaralina. Salvador Shopping is a gigantic mall in Caminho das Arvores. You should definitely check it out. Don't forget to eat Afro-Brazilian food at Dona Suzana's restaurant and if you have time, spend a weekend in Morro de São Paulo, an amazing pedestrian village on an island three hours south of Salvador.
You need come to bahia interior there is nices beaches and cities for exemplo: Porto Seguro, camamu is a black citi, Nice beaches, Belmonte, ilhéus, itacaré, prado, cumuruxatiba Village, santo amaro da purificação is black citi with África religion preservation, morro de São Paulo. And other islands around salvador.
Thanks Sly! The walk didn't disappoint! haha...minute 9:38 next to the Van Gogh restaurant is a posada (small hotel) called Village Novo...it should still be owned by an American (Brian) from California. Nice spot to take in the views of Porto da Barra beach. I'd say new year celebrations was my favourite time in Salvador - Barra. Carnaval is extremely crowded, unless you join a Bloco...and dangerous. All the best!
Views are priceless. I'm already knowing the mamas are off the chain lovely out there. When I get back to Brasil Salvador is one of the cities top on my list to touchdown in.
what the actual f***! That was beautiful...and I've lived in Brazil a few times but never made it to Bahia. The number of PYTs, though...wow. Please do more while in Brazil!
Thanks for another great video Sly! I was just going over some of your older videos and was wondering why/how you decided to leave the U.S. and start this nomadic lifestyle through Central America. Would love for you to do a storytime telling us a little more about yourself and why you started doing this😊
So understand the difficulty with the Portuguese language, I started learning it now and it turns out it is harder than my Hebrew language ... Anyway, thanks for a wonderful breeze you are filming !!!
Really love your video! I've been there twice, my wife is from there, this city is unbelievable! It was out of my covid/financial reach the last 5 years - but 2023 we will come back there! Greetings from Sweden!
I forgot to mention these people, that´s what makes a place great! YES there is a big problem with criminality - but it is more than equalized with the mentality of the "normal" people. And I realy hope that the influence of US evangelicals will diminish. I find that disgusting!!!
@@norbertgraber1540 i'm surprised you noticed about those evangelicals traits they're from the average people side of the city on which the tourist don't really have so much contact with i'd say you had a very intimate and personal contact with the city
Thanks for the video displaying Salvador Bahia Brazil. Are you staying in a hotel or Airbnb? What do you recommend for a short stay traveler to Brazil?
@@DefiSpecialOps I'm not gonna lie, the info I'm hearing out of Ghana isn't the greatest 😅. However, I think you have a different taste as I rarely hear anyone talk about Belize nor Costa Rica much.
A little tip for you. The H is silent in the beginning of the words, Q/Qu sounds like a K, 2 Rs together sounds like H and one R in the beginning of the word also sounds like H. 😎😎😎
Hilarious! "I didn't understand anything......" Antes da pandemia Salvador era top. Ainda bem que esta voltando, mas era bem melhor, mais vivo, animada e tal. As praias eram lotadas, sem espaco para andar direito, tantas musicas tocando no mesmo tempo, gente p caralho. . It was great! Um r: como carol em ingles. RR como o r em espanhol. Ja comi o queijo coalho na praia? Deve experimentar.
Sup Sly! I'm planning my trip to Brazil. Thinking of Spending a month out there and making Bahia my first destination. Any extra advice not mentioned in your vids?
I always wanted to visit Salvador. I might consider moving there later this year. I just need to check it out first. Is it true that you cannot flush toilet paper?
Sly good video 📹 👍 QUESTION :what's the best way to have internet, WI fi, Travelling internationally. Will cell phones even work arriving at this foreign countries.? What to do prior, after help 🙏🙏🙏THANKS
Thanks and if you have an unlocked phone (meaning it's not tied to one carrier) then you can just buy a cheap sim card. Many people use a service called "Google Fi." You'll have coverage in the majority of countries in the world. You should look into that if you don't want to constantly change sim cards in a new country.
It depends a lot, for tourists both will be safe because you will go to tourist spots, now in general Salvador can be as dangerous as Rio if you go to places you don't know
Yeah, I think everyone who knows anything about Brazil knows that Salvador is Brazil's Atlanta or New Orleans. Man, I think the lack of Brazilian Portuguese skills is gonna have you down bad😅. Like dying of thirst while drowning bad!
Interesting, I did not know that but heard Bahia was dope. True, Spanish and Portuguese are very distinct languages with a few similarities it's funny how some people think if they know Spanish, they can get by in Brazil. Like, nah bruh.

So many that weren't on camera.. It's lovely here for that
What beach is that one i'm look for apartments now
How is the safety there? Reading stuff online that its a dangerous place to go.
Are you in Bahia currently, February 2022?
curious as if this city is safer than rio I have heard other cities besides rio are much safer thanks!
You're welcome and I'll be able to give you a better answer once I've spent more time here.
It depends a lot, for tourists both will be safe because you will go to tourist spots, now in general Salvador can be as dangerous as Rio if you go to places you don't know
Nice video, would you say that Brazil is expensive? I've head it's the 3rd expensive country in the Americas right behind Canada

A great video. A question how much is a domestic round trip airline ticket from Rio de Janeiro to Salvador Bahia Brazil 🇧🇷 🤔?
Thanks and from Sao Paolo it was around $250 (last minute). I haven't checked the Rio prices though.
Binging on your videos :) how do you get to move around so much? Do you teach English?
Thanks and I'll make a video about that
look like the place to be
Yeah..Barra is a cool neighborhood
have you had a chance to visit Mercado Modelo?
Yup.. I will edit the video soon
PRONOUNCED Baa-ee- uh means Bay
I thought it was more developed with big condos
It does have many condos, but unlike most cities in Brazil, not on the coast line.
Yea, I think in some areas in the interior.
it does has lot of this in the Orla side
Very interesting video 👏. What is the fastest place for a Gringo to stay? How is dating down there??
Where the Adriana Lima’s at
SOME LOVELY THINGS. 😂😂😂
When i say bad, I'm referring to good looking women.
The subway in Salvador is under construction, it is new, your opinion is wrong. Every city has its bad and good sides.
jezzzz if you speak the lingo you can clean up.....
