That helicopter was a Bell 212, not built by Boeing. You know, the same as the Hueys in Vietnam. Old-ass and with sanctions without spare parts for years. No need for conspiracy theories, he died because of poor maintenance and incompetence.

It was a 40+ year old Bell 212 helicopter. First built in 1968. Sanctions on Iran has kept them from procuring spare parts for decades. Guess they were hoping the twist ties and duct tape would hold one more flight. Then go ahead and try to fly through low cloud in the mountains. Stupid is as stupid does.
