Hey Jake love the content. The stories bring back memories of my army experience. Reg army 05-09. Two tours in iraq. Many parallels to his stories of wtf is going on here.😂
Hey what's going on great video as as always. July 18th 2011 what's my ship date to Great lakes Illinois. The first couple days we got our medical done, and all the required checkups. After that... The ass beating began. I remember a RDC asked me if I was crazy, and I f***** around n said yeah. Blew my ass up. 8 count bodybuilders for a long time, mountain climbers the works. I was pissed off when August came I was medically discharged for pigment syndrome....
Jake I would love to hear your thoughts about how soft our military has become and also how this will end up effecting our next war in the future (if you haven't already).
Even in a light infantry unit you hump some weight. I was an AG (Assistant Gunner) with the 25th Infantry Division. My ruck with the spare barrel, T&E, Tripod plus I carried 600rds of linked 7.62 and the rest of your gear was over 100lbs. You hump for days.
I love how the military seem to name the bad ass hills you have to ruck and run up all day. I was in the British army and we had 7 hills surrounding the regiment camp, they were called the 7 sisters and the worst one was named heartbreak hill because it has a false summit. if you had never been up it you would run as fast as possible thinking it's not too bad you would reach what you thought was the summit only to look up and see you were only halfway up it, another one was infamous as recruits had died on it because it was basically a massive sand dune, but every Friday morning we would do p.t before we finished at 12 and it was always either a ruck around the 7 sisters or a webbing, boots, and weapon run we earned our weekend off 😂
Hey Jake, love your content and it's so revealing to what nobody (me) realizes about special operations and I've read so much about each branch. One of your Ranger Bat interviews talked about FNGs having to fight their squad mates constantly. Is that isolated or kind of everywhere? What happens if you get your nose broken or something? Don't you become medically unfit or something? Anyways, rock on. 💪
So I’m the dork in the video. In my experience initially the senior dudes in your platoon/squad set a hierarchy through violence or the threat of violence. Then sometime in your first couple weeks you will be told to go fight/grapple someone in a different squat or platoon. Usually the person they pick is a big dude that has a fighting background. You will lose but they want to see how aggressive you are even when you know winning isn’t an option. From here fighting only happens when you are bored or people have beef. We would have squad brawls every month or so grappling and body shots only. We would all just be bored hanging around then someone would be like “let’s go ball up 2nd squad”. Fighting and hazing are just the culture.
@jmc2282 thanks for elaborating on that! What an experience that must be though. You were awesome in the interview and I loved every minute of it. There are some things that I really don't know if I could put up with, and make it through, in those RASP or pre RASP sessions. I really commend you for being so tough and having that much courage and determination. It really is incredible.

Anyone remember the RIP days when cadre smoked you for hours the day before the course begins and on day 1 you had to pass the PT test to ranger standard, swim test on day 2, and 5 mile standard on day 3? Seemed like 75% of the class would be dropped in the first week before they took you to the woods to try and make you quit with all sorts of shenanigans.
Robbkeele, my dad built me too SF dude he locked out a Sub into Grenada on ODA, was to lias w Seal team 4 but they get caught in storm so they split in 2 went on,crazy story
Again I’m the dork in the video. I can’t answer your question but I can say. I think I was the 2nd or 3rd smallest guy out of my platoon (40 dudes) and one of the 10 smallest in the company (160 dudes). So any smaller than 5’6” and 150lbs you are definitely going to struggle in multiple ways.
