Watching the video bit by bit today 😅Tiny Marvels was a limited edition but when Mel passed, everyone asked SG to keep producing it. So they did a new agreement with Mel's family and now it's a permanent palette but every time it gets in stock sells out immediately 😊 I'm still subscribed to Mel's channel and every time I need inspo I go there ❤ Still miss her in every new launch 😢
Great declutter! I use the tiny decisions app which is like roulette to make sure I cycle through all of my makeup ^_^ I have about 230 beauty products total but 48 of those are eyeshadow palettes ❤
I've always had a large stash; used to "need" every shade in every formula but now, I'm not making up anyone but myself anymore and still have way more than enough. I do need to rotate through, but not gonna lie, there's always a couple shades or inspiring products I still lust after.
Yes, I wish I had less. I remember the days when I had 2 Lancome singles and that was it. That was 1993, my first year of college. Once I hit mid 30s, things started to get out of control. Now that I have this channel to blame, I continue to over purchase. 🤷♀️ I do have a weakness for eyeshadows. I really love them. Thanks for watching today.
wow I didn’t know SG was coming out with some new pallets, yes please. You did a good job getting rid of those, I used that Sultry😊 pallet today, so pretty, that’s the only Anastasia I kept, I got rid of the other ones I had.
I need to reach for the Sultry palette more. I'm always impressed when I pull it out, but forget to reach for it. It's definitely going in my monthly makeup bin so I can reacquaint myself with it. SG is launching a new eye and face palette (two separate palettes) on Monday. 9am PST.
Always fall in love with your declutters 🥰 Actually after you did all the declutters your makeup. Really want to see an updated makeup collection after the declutters 💗
Yet another super satisfying declutter from you 😊Gasped a bit when you decluttered CP's It's My Pleasure --- its prob. one my fave CP palettes due to my love of purple and those duochromes --- but I get it, if it doesn't give you joy, move onto things that do. As I get older, I now see what the fuss is over curating a smaller collection. Lipsticks and nail polishes I will forever buy ALL the colors cause #noselfcontrol 😆, but eyeshadows, face products, I need to keep it simple in colors/finishes that I like/suit me/are me. I finally got Huda's Rose Quartz and yeah, that's a "Me" palette and I wish it came along sooner in my makeup journey, but I love that new eye palette releases don't lure me in cause I have and know what I love/what works for me. Oh...I had that same PMG Mothership palette and I was so glad I sold it. When you swatched it, I was nodding my head going, "Yeah, she's was me, oooh and ahhhing at the swatches, wondering why we're not reaching for it..." I know why I wasn't reaching for it, it wasn't good outside of swatching, lol. You may have better success than me, but man, that palette (and PMG eyeshadow in general) was a real (expensive) letdown for me!
I'm still trying to hype myself up for PMcG shadows. I like them in swatches. I like the way other people's eye looks turn out, but I can never get a truly satisfying look with this Mothership palette. I wonder if it's the color story, or if it's the formula. I know if I was a makeup artist, I'd have more skills. I need stuff that works for the every day person. I'm not sure Pat's products are as easy to use as I'd like them to be. I still feel like I'm missing something. I never liked her lipstick formula. It was just OK, and I wasn't going to spend nearly $40 for a lipstick that was just OK. Because the brand has been hit or miss for me, I've never tried the foundation or concealer. I do love the undereye setting powder. I've purchased 3 of those tiny compacts. I like the lipgloss formula, but it's so expensive. I like the eyeliner, but I'm not going to spend the $$$ on mascara. I've heard too many mixed reviews. I've been keeping the It's My Pleasure palette for years. It was always an aspirational palette. I want to love purple shadows, but I don't feel confident in them, so I almost never reach for them. I do have a single of Mr. Sandman and I might try and see if I can get Earthshine. Those were the shades I reached for a lot. I love a sparkly duochrome! I want to have a smaller collection, but I've chosen to have this channel. I enjoy making videos and talking about makeup so much, and it's easier to create content when I have lots of stuff. It can be overwhelming at times. That's OK. Thanks so much for watching today, and enjoy the weekend!
@@thelipstickgal That was my issue w/ the palette, every look I did looked like crap, lol. I thought it was me too, that I didn't have the right eye primer/setting spray, that I wasn't 'worthy' of this high-end palette, but I'd do looks w/ my pricey ND palettes to lovely results. I just think the shadows didn't work for me, and were too high-maintenance. So no, you're not missing anything and its not your skill :) I was thisclose to buying some PMG lipsticks a few years back. Her site had slashed prices for the holidays, but by the time I got the cart to my liking all of them were sold out! lol You're also not the first person I've heard that didn't like her lipsticks, and since I had such a bad experience w/ the eyeshadow, I was turned off by the brand in total. Oh, I feel you about a shiny duochrome! Always great to take a look to an effortless new level. That palette did have the some of the best duochromes and shimmers CP has put out, imo. Thanks for replying back and take care 😊
@@jen8778 I'm glad I have Mr. Sandman as a single. I'm almost about to check if they sell earthshine as a single. It would be worth it to me. ✨✨✨ I'm still trying to love PMcG as much as everyone else does. I'm planning on picking up the new bronzer later this month. I don't think it's going be let me down. I love the blush formula, I just have to get the correct shade. Thanks again for making time for my channel. Have a lovely week!
I'm 59 years old. I got into makeup in my forties. I have two eyeshadow palettes. I'm only using one. I hit pan on in all my palettes. I won't probably start using my second palette until all the shades that I like in the palette that I'm using are close to done.
I do have a large collection. Most of my insanity large eyeshadow collection is in play a few are for posterity. I have makeup moods I just use what is calling. I am extremely organized by brand and my collection has a small footprint and is all visible
I have moods too, and I like to have something to match my mood. It gets hard when I have so much I can't keep track of it. I'm very organized too. It helps so much to know exactly where everything is. Thanks for watching today
@@thelipstickgal it’s the visibility. I have open shelf and open trolley and all organizers are clear acrylic. I never got into the Alex drawer system mostly because I do construction and am not about to build storage. I just repurpose the things we are removing from the job site 😂 I’m ridiculous and I embrace it 😃👍🏻🪄
@@angeliarossett5934 I have a lot of clear storage, because out of sight, out of mind. The Alex drawers didn't work for me. They're not built to support a lot of weight, and palettes can get heavy. The bottom of the drawers were bulging out, and they get stuck. Especially when there are as many palettes as I have. 🤷♀️ At least we know what works for us.
Great declutter! I enjoyed watching this. I saw the new SG palette that is coming out, I think it's very nice but is likely too warm for me so I won't be picking it up. I don't know, for me their Enduring Love is tops, very glad I have it and initially I didn't think I even needed it. I like Tiny Marvels but feel the same, don't need it, maybe deep down I do? 😁😁
Only get what really calls to you. When I over purchase, they end up getting decluttered or I regret them everytime I see them. The only good part is that I have a beauty budget. My makeup purchases don't come from my household account. I have a separate account for my UA-cam channel, so I don't feel as bad as if I was spending my household budget on makeup.
Nice job editing your palette collection just a bit more! Always so interesting to see, I’m reminded of brands I don’t have in my collection that I’d like to try someday. 😊👍🎉
I don't know if they are still available but Makeup Revolution Courage palette is excellent , it's a neutral palette with pops of pinks and green , they feel so soft , smooth , pigmented and buttery especially compared to the other revolution eyeshadows i've tried, although those are pigmented too but they feel dry
I haven't tried Revolution Makeup in a long time because everything I purchased was just OK. (or not good) Thanks for recommending a specific palette. I struggle to trust brands when the products are inconsistent. I wish drugstore brands were better at turning out reliable quality with every palette or every lipstick. I get frustrated when it's hit and miss. I know Revolution isn't the only one that struggles with consistency, especially in the eyeshadow department. Thanks so much for watching today, and taking the time to recommend a specific palette. I'll take a look for it next time I'm at Ulta.
I speak passable Spanish. I'm not fluent like both my parents, but I do ok. I try and keep up my Spanish by watching shows or movies in Spanish and reading news in Spanish. No one in my house speaks Spanish, and I usually speak in English with my folks unless I'm trying to keep secrets from my kids. Thanks for watching today.
I wasn't into makeup when ABH sultry was released, but I actually purchased it through ipsy 1 1/2 years ago for $20. I'm so glad I got my hands on it. I don't use it very often because my eyeshadow collection is around 150 palettes. I definitely need to do a declutter. I have a lot of indie palettes but I'm 45 and am starting to notice that they don't flatter my eyelids except for Sydney Grace.
I love the SG formula. It's so flattering on my mature eye lids. I need to make sure I use what I have, so I'm always thinking about what I actually reach for. There's a lot of stuff I've kept for sentimental reasons, but I'm trying not to do that any more. Thanks for watching.
One thing I did recently with my Natasha Denona palettes was take out all the pans and reorganize them, which immediately made them seem less random and more usable. So for the Pastel and Retro Glam palettes, I grouped the colors according to tone and then organized them from lightest to darkest. For the Retro and Glam palettes, which I just wasn't reaching for, I took ALL of the pans out and combined them into 1 "best of" palette and put the rest of the pans in the remaining palette -- yes, this was a bit hard at first with my OCD, but now I actually have a palette that has all my favorite colors. I don't have Metropolis because I agree that the color story is distracting -- that's definitely one where I'd group all the colors according to tone and depth, so that the random greens, oranges, and blues wouldn't distract from the colors that are more usable.
I struggle with Pam's not going back exactly where they're supposed to. Especially if the shadows are named on the packaging. Sometimes I'll take the pans out, write the names on the back, and then rearrange them. That gives me more freedom to play with what I have and not feel bad about putting pans in "the wrong place." I'm going to rearrange my metropolis palette. You've just made the perfect case for me. I'll do the same with the Zendo! Thanks for taking me what you do. I want to get good use out of them, but I'm not the way they're currently arranged.
The Anastasia Norvina palette! That's one of my favorites. Glad you were able to whittle down to what you truly love. Prior to the pandemic, I only had a few large palettes. Then I started getting more into beauty youtube and started purchasing more 😭 I look forward to your looks and review of the new Sydney Grace palette. I'll practice restraint on that one as the warm tones are a bit too warm for me. But curious how the shadows look in an eye look. Have a nice weekend!
There are very few Sydney Grace palettes that I don't pick up. The Tropic Color was too colorful for me, and I don't have all the Temptalia palettes. (Also too colorful) I love the formula so much, i always keep an eye out for color stories that interest me. I used the Norvina palette for years! I can't remember the last time I hit pan in a palette. Or any eyeshadow for that matter. 🤯 I really loved that palette and got lots of great use from it. Thanks so much for watching today. Have a lovely weekend.
I moved my mothership pallettes to my vanity table so I use them every week. I reach into those when I need a shimmer shade. I wasn't using mine either and I didn't know why because her formula is beautiful!
Great job downsizing!! Like you, I tend to gravitate towards a smaller palette! I need to make more of an effort to use my larger ones. You have reminded me to pull out tiny marvels again! I want to love enduring love but I can’t seem to get the look I want from it 😰
I can easily get overwhelmed from a larger palette. That's why I prefer smaller ones. I don't use Tiny Marvels as much as Enduring Love, but then again I love my neutral eyeshadows. 🤷♀️ I'm very happy having cut my makeup collection down. 🤞 It doesn't grow too big again.
Oh btw are you going to get the new new Sydney Grace eyeshadow and face palettes ? I also saw the new multichromes but - with all the love and respect for SG - they look a bit like just duochromes and too similar to shades they already have (like Dive, The Greatest Gift, Tempest, etc.).
I'm planning on getting the eye palette. I'm not sure about the face palette. I feel like when I've tried blush and highlight in the past, I've never been in love. 🤷♀️ I haven't made up my mind yet, but . . . I didn't know about the new multichromes. I have one of the pressed multichromes but I never reach for it.
I have every Pat McGrath Mothership. I am just a huge fan of the formulas and finishes. I laughed when you started swatching Sublime. Swatching is not the way to convince yourself to get rid of a Pat McGrath palette. (Not that I’d ever want to get rid of one) Swatching one will always make you swoon. 😂😂 I hope you get some good use out of yours. I will frequently pull out of a Mothership to put a few sprinkles here or there. My favorite Mothership is Subliminal (Mothership I) the cool one you talked about. I think you’d actually love it. I know this is a declutter and not a “buy more shadow” video, but it’s one you’d get so much use out of. I never used any blues before that palette. The tones of all the shades in that palette are just divine! I could use it every day for a month, come up with varied looks, and never be tired of it.
Now you've piqued my interest. I nearly ordered heutopian dream since Pat is having a sale right. I think about that one all the time. I'm trying to remind myself not to replace, but only to declutter. I need to reach for the one I have more often and decide if the price is worth it for another one for my collection and maker aesthetic. Thanks so much for watching today.
I decluttered my Tati palette this year too. I always struggled with the mattes, I was never really happy with my looks. I also decluttered my VV Holy Grail. I wasn’t using them and I have a friend just getting into makeup. I actually decluttered several Violet Voss, they were just not good enough to stay. I’m so sad about BH. I love love love my BH palettes. They are going nowhere. I think I’m at around 50 palettes, including small palettes and quads. My collection definitely brings me joy! Your collection is the stuff of dreams!
Thank you so much for watching today. I think it's great to hold on to what brings you joy, and I wish I had more BH cosmetics. 😭 I feel like the Tati Beauty was passed its prime. Not a bad palette, but not a favorite by any stretch of the imagination. Same with my VV HG. Good, but now where I'm at any more. 🤷♀️ I'm glad to know I'm not the only one with a large collection, and I hope you enjoy yours when you dip into it daily. Thanks for watching!
I'd love to see if you do rearrange the ND Metropolis palette light to dark! I do see why companies "scatter" and mix shades to create quads within a palette, but I do agree that it is distracting!
Not me having most of the sydney grace palettes and now im wishing I had more eyes to use them more. 😂 right now im trying to do 100 uses on my norvina palette before it goes bad so most of my collection getting neglected, and I only have like 20 palettes total.
I LOVE SG, but wouldn't have this many palettes if I didn't have this channel. There are times I wish I didn't have such a large collection. It gets overwhelming. It's also amazingly wasteful. I keep so much of it for comparison. 🤷♀️ Use what you have, and don't give in to FOMO. I'd need 1000 pairs of eyes to even attempt to use what I already have.
oh was I waiting for this! 😄 I enjoyed this declutter a lot! I do not own a large collection and I prefer to use a 9-12 eyeshadow palette, I start to be overwhelmed with 15... I must be the only one who does not like ND formula, the metallics show texture that I did not even know I have and the mats (with the same primer I use for all my shadows) crease on me very fast. I do not know if I do something wrong but I just apply them like the others I have. Well it doesn´t matter, there are many brands. Hey, you have beautiful palettes, enjoy them 😊
Thanks for watching today. I really enjoy eyeshadow palettes, but wish I had gotten rid of a few more. I got rid of what I think I wouldn't miss. I only have 3 ND palettes. The two seen here, and one of the 5 pan palettes from many years ago. I'm not a fan of her cream to powder formula, and in not always in love with her color stories. 🤷♀️ Same with PMcG. I know so many people are gaga for those two formulas, but to me they're just ok. Not worth the high price tag. I've got my eye on a new palette coming out at the end of this month from Sydney Grace. In excited about that.
I have not tried ND, her shadows are not vegan and I cannot use carmine. But I was in an Ulta recently and swatched some of her shadows from a tester palette that was sitting out. I was not impressed at all! Thinking, I have BH baked shimmers that are more vibrant. And I thought, people pay $70 for this? I don't get it. I will stick with my SG but that's the beauty about so many brands, something for everyone I suppose. And while I haven't swatched any PM, my impression is the same, I cannot imagine spending that much for a palette. It's not in my budget so I will let others pay that price.
@@taramisu9978 I prefer SG to both PMcG and ND. I think the formula is easier for me to use, lasts all day, and has the shimmers I want. That's why I don't have more from those other brands. ,🤷♀️
Well done declutter ! Thinking of a great drugstore e/s palette... aint easy ! I usually dont buy premade palettes be it drugstore or high end or whatever but I did try a few over the last years and I think Catrice 5 in a box little e/s palette in 020 Soft Rosy Look (only this number, dont care for others) is really nice indeed ! Soft but pigmented, stunning shimmers (better work with fingers), it is what is says soft. You wont get bam in your face look with it but its so lovely, I even got a backup lol. (I know!:)) Another palette would be Colourpop Thats Taupe - its one of peoples faves for a reason, neutral to cool colors, foiled shimmers, I like it a lot.
I've tried the Taupe palette from CP. My daughter bought it and let me try it. It's nice. I haven't seen any Catrice in stores. Ulta stopped carrying the brand over a year ago, and none of my local drugstore carry the brand. 🤷♀️ I wish it was easier to get Catrice products where I live. Thanks for the recommendation. I'll keep an eye out for Catrice.
I know they're your favorites. I nearly purchases the Huetopian Dreams palette when get current sale started, but i reminded myself for frequently I reach for the one I already have. 🤦♀️ Thanks for watching!
I know! I can't choose between my kids, and sometimes I feel like that with eyeshadow and lipstick too. I've left the lipstick declutter for last because it's the hardest for me. 🫣
Ugh you got rid of your Tati Beauty antique 😧 I have a large collection and I manage it by rotating things. I’ve been using the UD Moondust palette as toppers and love them. So glad I didn’t declutter. I really don’t think the majority of powder eyeshadow palettes go off in a matter of 5 or more years so I’m still using some oldies but goodies. Can’t wait for the new SG palettes to release!! Hope you can start using some of your neglected palettes now that you’ve declutter end some and you rediscover some real winners. 😉
Thanks for watching! I hope that getting rid of what's just hanging around collecting dust helps me better enjoy what I have. I enjoy having a palette for every mood, but it was getting to be a bit much. 😫 I probably could've pushed myself to clear out more, but it's hard since I buy them all myself. 💸💸💸 I never got into the UD moon dust formula. I've heard really good things, but . . . I after with you. I don't think that powder shadows are bad after 12-24 months listed on the package. I use mine until I don't love them anymore, or the formula changes.
@@thelipstickgal I totally hear ya! I hope your decluttering will awaken your interest in your collection since you have less to “manage.” I’ve enjoyed watching your videos in the wee early morning hours while getting ready for work and doing my makeup. I love this video! It's so fun to see someone's collection and compare it to my own. We have very similar declutters. The only Two Faced product that I currently own, period, is the original Gingerbread. I use it at least monthly, in fact I used one shade out of it yesterday. Every time I try to declutter it, I keep it. Ah, the memories of all the great chocolate bars!! I have an affordable recommendation, it's drugstore price, but you do have to order it. I follow a great woman named Jan Phelps, and she talks about Moira Cosmetics a lot. I watched one particular video of hers over and over again, where she talked about her favorite products from the brand. I just received my nice sized order including a palette called I'm Falling For You. This particular color story is not up your alley (lots of pinks and purples), there are several other color stories that I think you'd love! Jan recommended this type/size of palette from Moira as being the BEST and excellent quality. I am bowled over by the creamy richness of the formula!!! Packaging reminds me of Pat McGrath Holiday. $17.50 per palette, and Jan has a discount code, JEN15 for 15% off. I have the BH Holiday palette of I think 2018, and it is hands down, the best eye shadow palette that I own for versatility and formula. I won't order from BH anymore though, since they were acquired through Makeup Revolution. Another fantastic job here, thanks!
Thanks so much for watching. I've been thinking about trying Moira Cosmetics for the past year. They've been on my radar, but I haven't gotten to the point of ordering yet. I've been watching lots of swatch videos and reviews so I know what's worth it when I finally place an order. I never picked up the Gingerbread palettes. They're too warm for my personal taste. I don't know if it's because they're very orange leaning, or if I'm not remembering correctly. I don't mind a soft, warm color, but an entire palette of them really makes me pause. It's not where I'm at right now. I nearly picked up a PMcG palette because they're on sale right now. I'm trying not to over purchase. I did too much of that while I was sick in bed during the month of February. I have too much new stuff. (especially new lip products) Thanks again for watching, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
@@thelipstickgal I have only one PMGr palette; I was able to get one of the Holiday 5 pans at TJMaxx. It's got one dark brown and amazing metallic shiny neutrals. I wore t today with a brown and leopard look. All I can say is everything everybody says is true. The shadows literally melt onto the lids, blending and shiny all day long. No fall out, no creasing. I did get the big Holiday palette too, but the formula was not the same. It was trash. After trying 5 different looks worn to work and many other tries at night, nothing worked. I gave it away. With the Motherships, I never like the color story, but I'd pick up another 5 pan in a heart beat.

@@jen8778 I'm glad I have Mr. Sandman as a single. I'm almost about to check if they sell earthshine as a single. It would be worth it to me. ✨✨✨
I'm still trying to love PMcG as much as everyone else does.
Congrats on not over spending on eyeshadow. That's awesome that you're able to pan all your palettes. Thanks so much for watching today.
Yes I tend to rotate through my large makeup collection. But there are a few things that I always go back to!🥰
I've been trying to rotate through my collection, but like you, there's always a free products I always come back to. 🤷♀️
Nice job editing your palette collection just a bit more! Always so interesting to see, I’m reminded of brands I don’t have in my collection that I’d like to try someday. 😊👍🎉
I should have cut a few more, but it's hard to do. I do love eyeshadow so much. Thanks for watching today.
Another great declutter, love the mini reviews ❤
Thanks for making time to watch! 😉
I love listening to you talk, you remind me of my late mom.
I had no idea you used to live in Spain, that's so cool! do you speak any Spanish?
That gives me more freedom to play with what I have and not feel bad about putting pans in "the wrong place."
I'm going to rearrange my metropolis palette.
(Also too colorful)
I love the formula so much, i always keep an eye out for color stories that interest me.
I used the Norvina palette for years! I can't remember the last time I hit pan in a palette. Or any eyeshadow for that matter. 🤯 I really loved that palette and got lots of great use from it.
Thanks so much for watching today. Have a lovely weekend.
I do rotate through my really big collection. Did you keep Metropolis? Have a great holiday ❌️⭕️
I moved my mothership pallettes to my vanity table so I use them every week. I reach into those when I need a shimmer shade. I wasn't using mine either and I didn't know why because her formula is beautiful!
Yes, that's a great idea. I've had this one for years, and it needs to get more use! I'll leave mine in plain sight. 😉
I'm very happy having cut my makeup collection down.
I hope you get some good use out of yours.
I feel like the Tati Beauty was passed its prime. Not a bad palette, but not a favorite by any stretch of the imagination. Same with my VV HG. Good, but now where I'm at any more. 🤷♀️
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one with a large collection, and I hope you enjoy yours when you dip into it daily. Thanks for watching!
I'd love to see if you do rearrange the ND Metropolis palette light to dark! I do see why companies "scatter" and mix shades to create quads within a palette, but I do agree that it is distracting!
I need to make my collection work for me. I've been thinking about doing that this evening.
Nice declutter! i have the tati palette but haven’t let it go just cuz I know it’s gone for purchase! lol
I understand that. I'm trying to only keep what I'm actually using. I haven't reached for that palette in 2 years. I'm obviously not in love with it.
@@thelipstickgal yes! True 🙂
@@thelipstickgal I don't need it but I'm so tempted to get their newest palette. I'm trying to at least hold out till July at least
@@alishacuddy2473 July will come quickly. Wait for the discount. It's worth it especially when palettes are 40% off.
I love PM blushes but I never go for my palettes. ❌️⭕️
I love my single blushes and I'm glad I never picked up a palette. I don't regularly reach for a palette.
oh was I waiting for this!
@@thelipstickgal well, I think that is exactly the point for you. If you do not use it for yourself or for YT videos then....out.
I have all the PMG palettes and you had to kill me 1st to throw them away 😅
I know they're your favorites. I nearly purchases the Huetopian Dreams palette when get current sale started, but i reminded myself for frequently I reach for the one I already have. 🤦♀️
Thanks for watching!
You did amazing this is like choosing children ahahaha ❤
I know! I can't choose between my kids, and sometimes I feel like that with eyeshadow and lipstick too. I've left the lipstick declutter for last because it's the hardest for me. 🫣
@@thelipstickgal Ohh cant wait, thats gonna be a challenge indeed, good luck to you :)
Ugh you got rid of your Tati Beauty antique 😧
I have a large collection and I manage it by rotating things.
I never got into the UD moon dust formula.
You do share a lot of insight and thoughtful information 😊 Have a restful weekend!
@@tanhome7 thanks so much! 🥰
(especially new lip products)
Thanks again for watching, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
I’m probably like you; I’d rearrange that ND palette by color 🤣
If I do that, I'll probably use it more.
