My Thoughts on the Results: First of all, thanks for checkin out the vlog today, guys :) Alright, so I seemed to have the edge with my 2017 in all the races. Obviously, HooliganR600 was handicapped with a broken tach, and ECU problems. His bike certainly wasn't running as optimally as it could be, especially since he's got such a high flow exhaust setup. As for weight, I mentioned in another comment that the weight was about even, here's why: 2017 R6 - 419 lb bike (wet) - 210 lb rider (6'2") 2012 R6 - 417 lb bike (wet) - 230 lb rider (5'11") - Cat delete and GP exhaust (~10-15lb weight savings) - Less gas (about 1 gallon less, so about 6 pounds weight savings) So, for TOTAL weight (completely guestimating), we're talking about 629 lb for me and my 2017 compared to 626-631 lb for Hooligan and his 2012. It's really nearly identical when it comes down to it for weight. I think the biggest difference in these races came down to the shifting. I was able to shift at pretty much redline with a quickshifter and he was shifting normally, just by feel, with no indication of RPMs. You can hear him bounce off the rev limiter several times, which makes a substantial difference in such an evenly matched race. I'd love to get another race in when his bike gets fixed up and swap bikes to see how things turn out. Hope y'all liked the vid!
When you have to make the choice to stay buff or quit the gym to make the bike faster hahaha that was some good stuff! I'm kicking myself in the but for not riding up to your area before I moved to Florida :p....
@@straightman8892 ye man thats what i was saying. i knew yammie had crashed in to a porsche but not yummi.i wish EVERY rider safety and i mean no disrespect but the way yammie was riding ides had it coming. i wish every inxperienced rider safety and good luck.IF YOUR NOT CONFIDENT IN YOUR RIDING DONT RIDE ON EGO. i mean no disrespect and i want no hate
2 big important things. weight from one and from the other and motonoxity is using quickshifter and the other guy isn't I think. But great video as usual!
Motonosity you should meet up with someone with an old (but still kinda new) R6 and just switch bikes with them for an hour or so. It would be interesting to hear from both people afterward about how each bike feels and what they like/dislike from a riders perspective. Good video!
Shift time and duration were the difference makers here 100%. But I still think the 2017 has the edge. 8% drag reduction and newer. I'd like to run it against a 2015 R6!
Motonosity True. I'll be waiting for that vid along with anything on the R6 or R1. Also wanna here more of the new gen R6s with exhaust. I was really surprised by the pull aways though.
the older r6 isn't riding in a full tuck. plus on a 600 you really feel the difference between maintenance. when i need oil, plugs, and a clutch, feels like a huge loss in power to the wheel. it probably isnt much but i feel it tho.
Like others have said, weight and the quick shifter make a huge difference. Also since he has a shorty pipe on it with a cat delete but no fuel management, his power may be less. Usually having a cat delete/slip-on combo will increase hp with some sort of fuel management. But since he said his ECU flash doesn't work and he has a shorty pipe on it vs having a good slip-on, his power may be less than your stock bike.
Also shift the same way, clutchless and roll off the throttle on yours to make that fair, the ecu remap will give him an advantage but the exaust without the map would not. I'm sure if there were problems with the ecu it would not run at all.
when the guy on the grean changin gears you can hear engine stuttering for a split second. Bacuse if anything the green bike has the edge until the first gear change then the gap increases on each gear change. watch closely. p.s. i just watched the rest of the vid and it says his tach is broken so its the bike hitting the rev limiter!
did I stumble onto 650Ib's channel? lol loving the smackdowns. obviously his bike was having issues, but it's still fun to watch haha. can't wait to see a good race!
If you want to see how the 2 generations of R6's compare, watch some of this year's World SuperSport races. They have both on the grid. Spoiler: they've very comparable in performance on the track.
They probably weigh somewhat close to the same weight since muscle is denser than fat. Motonosity probably has a bit of an aerodynamic advantage but the weight is not that much different I would think.
People stating that there's a huge weight difference are incorrect. Though Motonosity is "fit" he has larger muscle mass, and most people know muscle is denser than fat so they are probably similar in weight... Just though you should know.
Once you change the exhaust and remove the cat, you will lose back pressure, meaning, you will lose some pull in the higher RPMs. So, including the problems with the 2012 R6, I would call this race even.
I have a 2014. One day maybe I’ll be able to sell it and get a 2017 for a close price. The 2017 looks Soooo much cooler in my opinion. The fairings, headlights, and especially gas tank are all so nice 😍
most people can't understand the power delivery efficiency, Newer/modern bikes are efficient transferring power to the wheels. that's why the new R6 is more faster than the old one even though it has lower HP than the old one.
In my country, Indonesia, our road is so bad there is potholes everywhere which can make a big dent on your wheels if you accidently hit them, and we actually have speed limits but no one is getting any speed tickets for breaking them, which means no limitations HAHAHA
Just let the guy you're racing do the horn timing. In that way you will always be a tiny bit slower than him, and that benefits the filming process because the cam will either show him pulling away or you catching up.
They're putting out the same power? In Europe and Australia the new model has gone down from 101kw (135hp) to 87.1kw (117hp), does the US have their own version of the 2017 R6?
as luis mentioned rider weight is a major factor in racing take for example 650ibs race on his h2 vs a fellow riders h2 same bike diffrence being ecu flash exhaust and the major one being the diffrence in rider weight just like racing cars runnin a cars with 1000hp each but ones interior is fully stripped and the other is fully loaded meaning seats and interior peices intact the stripped car will always win
Nice bikes! How tall are you? I have seen a few more of your videos and I wonder what is the feeling on the R6 for a tall guy.. I am 6’3” and looking for an R6...
Only thing I don't like about the 17 is the one light in the front wished they still had the two lights on the side. Other than that sweet bike. I'll take one of the dog chews Chan's
In my opinion you should not really need a tachometer. You should be able to tell by noise and feel of the bike when to shift. Like all of those moto cross guys make due without one and yes I know that they have other factors that play into their races but shifting too late or too short would really mess you up.

Motonosity I got dibs on the next race! I want to see how your R6 goes against my ZX-6R with a quick shifter too.
When you have to make the choice to stay buff or quit the gym to make the bike faster hahaha that was some good stuff! I'm kicking myself in the but for not riding up to your area before I moved to Florida :p....
Yeah man, i think the biggest difference that led to you winning was the shifting. That quickshifter makes a massive difference
@motonosity lol what happened to your eye. you know how you get pink eye right.
not to mention a 600cc biggest killer is weight
6:50 gotta love that sound!
🔥🔥
Weight matters
+Fernando Vzz weight was even
Both riders weigh exactly the same with full gear on?
+SkyeHack motonosity is taller and has a lot of muscle so yea they probably do weigh about the same
I think he meant the riders. TOTAL weight matters too.
maybe trade bikes for a run or two to make it fair and square in order to come the final verdict. just a thought!
ride safe man, keep and eye out for them yellow porsche's!

One thing to note on racing with same caliber motorcycle class is the rider weight. It's a pretty significant variable with the two bikes
2 big important things. weight from one and from the other and motonoxity is using quickshifter and the other guy isn't I think. But great video as usual!
Weight aside, the other guy is less aerodynamic 😂
My 2016 is a dream come true, 4 years no problems, rides like new, pulls hard af stock.
Great video idea! Team Yamaha 👌
Motonosity you should meet up with someone with an old (but still kinda new) R6 and just switch bikes with them for an hour or so. It would be interesting to hear from both people afterward about how each bike feels and what they like/dislike from a riders perspective. Good video!
Weight and quick shifter is my guess. Makes a big difference. 650ib knows all about that.

Halfdead Rider Did you notice the power drop off on the green bike as soon as he shifted to what i think was 4th gear tho?
A baby is the absolute last thing in the world I could want but congratulations to you man. Love the bike!
He’s a Heavier dude . You guys should’ve switched bikes and see the outcome
Both those bikes sounded so good
Motonosity Junior on the way!!
I hear that 2012 popping baby. Mine does the same. It's a delightful surprise. Moto is an excellent rider too. Very nice.
hey dude. great news on your wife's pregnancy. hope you guys have a grrat life ahead. god bless you both.

Are we going to get a in-depth baby review?
haha you wanna know the specs and performance?
Motonosity YES!!!
I really want to see you and your son in like 3 years just hanging around with pit bikes 😍

Quick shifter I think had a lot to do with it. Stoked for your budding family 👍🏻

congrats for newborn nice video
for some reason i dont like kawasaki green. But the suzuki blue and this R6 blue look so damn good.
Wow, that was crazy fast. Great Vid. Life is about to change big-time for you. I have a feeling you will be a great Dad. Happy pushing Abby!
When ur ur baby is being born in 3 days but you still decide to race on a motorcycle at 150
lol
You shouldn't joke about fat guys
Christof Verhoog being fat is irresponsible tho unless there is some serious issues... but 90% there no reason to justify it.
I am From germany and love ur Videos ! how u pronounce Autobahn is really funny ! Keep in doing what u do its perfect!
Running that motor in nice 😩
Next vid: Abby uses the quick pusher for 6 pushes. and we have 'babynosity'!! ☮️

Anyone else notice the lime green Prius at the gas station
I think this is the most anticipated video where’s the redo and I agree you guys should switch bikes for 2 runs.
congrats @Motonosity!
That was great to watch. Chill video
OMG, The baby is COMING!! How nervous, scared or anxious are you?
When he was ahead it looked like the shifting is what helped the reel in
Congrats on your blessing man and sweet bike
I love your video's. keep it up 🏍🏁💨
They probably weigh somewhat close to the same weight since muscle is denser than fat. Motonosity probably has a bit of an aerodynamic advantage but the weight is not that much different I would think.
From Philippines here
I ride a new R6 too with the cold start issue LOL
Would love to get one of those keytags
3:01 eerrmm no. If you don't "receive" information from the ECU besides start, then the bike would not idle or accelerate or work.
Nice vid but what about The top speed compare with the older Version?
Nice runs bro!! Perhaps on next vid you guys can do one from a stop
People stating that there's a huge weight difference are incorrect. Though Motonosity is "fit" he has larger muscle mass, and most people know muscle is denser than fat so they are probably similar in weight... Just though you should know.
Anyone else like the 2006-2016 R6's more then the new ones? Also a quickshifter makes ALL the difference.
The weight of the drivers makes a lot of difference, but i love the video ;)
A dog chewed key tag could be an awesome thing!
Its the quick shift watch when he passes him the 2012 r6s front end moves and you can see him going for the clutch
First street bike I'm gonna get is an 08 R6. looking forward to getting it soon. just need to buy the bike lol
in new Zealand speed limit is 100mph
Congrats bro
I-130 is a beautiful road. Do motorcycles have to pay toll? I could never figure it out.
Man really nice race good luck keep it on 👍
these guys are balling
power to weight ratio. I suggest match up with similarly weighted/sized riders..every pound matters and so does the tuck at speed.
Hey,Brent!! Make a video about your dogs like DIWD made about his dog Jax, would like to see that.
Once you change the exhaust and remove the cat, you will lose back pressure, meaning, you will lose some pull in the higher RPMs. So, including the problems with the 2012 R6, I would call this race even.
Vasilis Manaras back pressure is bad for the motor and you don't want it. It's the scavenger effect that you can lose which will cause loss of power.
did you guys here the engine sound when both bikes launches..
the new r6 very fast...
MOTONOSITY, I can't wait till you start adding mods. Hope you guys are doing well with the baby almost there though!
I have a 2014. One day maybe I’ll be able to sell it and get a 2017 for a close price. The 2017 looks Soooo much cooler in my opinion. The fairings, headlights, and especially gas tank are all so nice 😍
All about personal opinion. I went with 2016 over 2017 cause I feel the headlights on 2016 are way cooler!
I agree, wrong color for a Yamaha haha
It is the Ninja R6 :)
Really nice battle guys!
most people can't understand the power delivery efficiency, Newer/modern bikes are efficient transferring power to the wheels. that's why the new R6 is more faster than the old one even though it has lower HP than the old one.

Such a great video! Thanks man! I have a question... Is it posible to put the 2017 r6 front face fairing to an older r6 ? Lets say 2008-2012? Thanks.
Just let the guy you're racing do the horn timing. In that way you will always be a tiny bit slower than him, and that benefits the filming process because the cam will either show him pulling away or you catching up.

the quick shifter really does the difference
You have to switch riders to really see how the bikes perform.
His bike is probably running lean since it does not have an ecu flash with that high flow exhaust.
Do a rematch once its fixed, results should be about even. Nice video and good luck on your wife's delivery!
Just reading some of these comments, ya'll have no chill 😂😂😂😂
come to South Africa you will think that your roads are amazing
I'm pretty sure its the quick shifter for the most part of lead with very little aero advantage. God damn no one talk about it.
It's literally the quick shifter making the difference
Nice bikes! How tall are you? I have seen a few more of your videos and I wonder what is the feeling on the R6 for a tall guy.. I am 6’3” and looking for an R6...
Beautiful bikes regardless.
