If many people have had bad enough experiences in a location that they could not account for, even if there is not a rational explanation for this phenomenon, there is trust in the universality of the phenomenon, and its human nature to trust that. The origin of the phenomena does not need to be known, understood, or believed to believe in the collective intuition of the people before whom have come to fear it. This is part of a negativity bias that humans share to keep us alive and alert because the one time you decide not to consider the seemingly innocuous sound in the basement, it might be an intruder coming to kill you.
Richard recently came under fire because he admitted to liking Christmas festivities. I also get nostalgic for Christmas because of leftover feelings from Childhood. I would also get the creeps while staying in a "haunted" building because my imagination would get the better of me. I still don't rationally believe in God's, spirits, spirituality or the supernatural in general.😊❤❤
No spirits, no ghosts, no demons just like there’s no Santa Claus or fairy’s
What about the Easter bunny?
I remember when Brian Greene was an interesting, objective scientist.
Praying to God for help is just an escape from facing your fear
Perhaps? It could also be a way to cope with fear or a variety of other emotions.
I don't pray. I don't believe in ghosts. 🤔
That's odd, I wouldn't care less about spending the night in a notoriously haunted house.
Better than being homeless or locked up
Hypocrites
So Dawkins is a self-proclaimed atheist, and yet he believes in haunted houses. How does that work? He's actually more of an agnostic.
He did not say he believed in haunted houses. I don't believe in ghosts or any kind of supernatural creature, i would still not be very confident with the idea of sleeping in a graveyard for instance.
"Haunted" is the best word we have. A "haunted" house may actually have something going on that isn't supernatural. It could be aliens or a gateway to another dimension. Or a prankster. Just being hesitant about staying in a "haunted" house doesn't necessarily mean you believe in the supernatural.
@@sebastien5048 I get you. But a graveyard is definitely creepier than a haunted house. Bit, what is to fear in a haunted house, ghosts?
@@jcv71 well, same question with graveyards, what is to fear ? ghosts ?
When i think about a haunted house i think about an old, abandoned building, probably not clean at all, remote from everything (maybe in the middle of a forest). Not the kind of building i would sleep in without good incentives, even if i don't believe in ghosts.
we can't help but be victimized by our mind
