This is not about Beyonce, this is about the fact that many other artists like Justin Timberlake and Ariana Grande have been at the CMA. People had a problem with her because she's black. I think she should make a country album and it will pay the way for other Black Country artists. How many country artist do we know of? And don't be mistaken The CMA doesn't have an African American audience, they don't care about retaining you or any other race other than white. Beyonce doesn't care about The CMA, she did this to get people talking and possibly to shine a light about the fact that even for artists we are still not equal.
I think those that have a problem need to pick up a history book. Most all music genres born out of the united states were invented by African American's with perhaps the exception of bluegrass and even some of that was influenced by the blues. Seriously google american music. We started this ish... That being said we abandoned a few genres like country and rock and roll. Trust if we decided we were on that again we would run it!
apparently you don't live in the south, saying African Americans don't don't listen to country music, sorry to burst your bubble but many blacks in have come across be bumping some country music and it's not just a southern thing either where black people listen to country music, so before trying to say African Americans don't listen to country learn some facts, as for African American country artists there are many

If Taylor sung/recorded an R&B or Hip Hop song and performed it with as humph as Beyoncé performs hers them there would be no shade thrown. Props would be given. Look up the BET awards with other white artist who performed in the past, they got standing ovations.
They clearly won't come out! They would be going up against the CMA's. The very award show that caters to their type of music. Most artist aren't Bold or Big enough to ruffle any feathers.

Nevermind the /actual/ roots of country music, the fact that a good chunk of present-day country is quite pop-esque anyway, the tons of collabs with other genres with few comments on that, that some of the country ladies show just as much skin/suggestive attire, or that a lot of their precious country songs aren't exactly pure in nature either....yup, nevermind.

One of the ladies on The View ( I think it was Whoopi) had an interesting take on Kenny Chesney's blank stare. She thought it looked like more of a lustful stare. Beyonce did look amazing in that dress. He also could have been surprised to see the Dixie Chicks. After giving Country music fans the finger with their single Not Ready To Make Nice I don't think many people expected to see them.
