you should add the numbers while you are talking about it, now it just are a lot of large numbers without reference how big they are compared to each other. Great video though!

There are 3 causes of the national debt: spending, tax cut, and recession.

Terrifying. Who is going to pay for all this? Many people are barely making it, including the ones paying income tax.

So, here's a question. It seems good to ask what the role of government actually is since iy spends on so many different things. So, what is the government's legitimate role?
I say it's simply to protect the people's rights to their own person and properymty and to punish criminals who infrunge upon those rights of others. So, don't murder, rape, steal, commit fraud, burglarize, vandalize, commit arson, etc. Other than that, government should stay out of our business and let the people decide things for themselves.
Government should provide these basisc protections through a military, law enforcement, and justice system. Everythibg else should be left to the people (or at least state governments).
If I had my way, I would reduce the entire federal budget to about $500 billion. Use about $400 billion for defense and the rest on federal law enforcement and a justice system.
I find it interesting how liberals seem to want less government in social issues but more in economic ones. While conservatives tend ti want the reverse. I just say less government all around. While I tend to be more socially conservative I don't think the government should be doing things like telling people what drugs they can put in their own body. I like a free market and see government doing more harm than good in the economy.
Overall, I think we should all be free to live our own lives the way we choose, so long as we don't harm others or infringe on their right to the same. I think most Americans could relate to that.

This is not difficult to sort out. When the cost of the military complex is all added together it comprises about 75% of the budget. The mandatory part of the budget has run an enormous surplus for many years and should have stayed a stand alone budget. Your Social Security taxes and Medicare taxes you have paid in have been spent to finance the military complex so the people who benefit from a secure nation can pay less in taxes
