Just received a notice that this video is age-restricted in spite of my really making an effort not to include any nudity in the video. I should have just gone for the hard R rating from the word go. Next time we'll get crazy!

Great list James! Surprised you didn't note that Against All Odds is a remake of Out of the Past though. Like you said, the DNA of noir is there in the erotic thrillers... just add actual sex rather than smoldering sensuality and flirting! Keep up the great work
@@geekinwithJamesHancock oh my god between Against All Odds and Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid I had such a thing for her growing up. And to see her on the complete other end of the spectrum as far as level of glamor, she's got a trashily sexy thing going in the great neo noir After Dark My Sweet

I'm a shameless and picked up some smokes for the thumbnail, but I did love my Camel Lights back in high school (91-95). Those magazine ads in the Eighties really worked, lol.
Oh man you had to say Angel Heart! PLEASE do a deep dive into that twisted masterpiece! Only surprise omission from your list, I thought, was The Big Easy with Dennis Quaid and Ellen Barkin. They have smoldering chemistry
Good call on the Big Easy. Definitely deserved an honorable mention. And as far as Angel Heart goes, one of these days I just need to do a full blown Alan Parker video and give that flick the credit it deserves.
Hell yeah! My lady and I have been watching a ton of stuff you could categorize as erotic thrillers recently. This helps me pad out the watchlist with a couple we haven’t watched. Also unrelated, have you seen the trailer for Doom: The Dark Ages? Looks like it could be the next great dark adult fantasy gaming experience, post-Erdtree of course.
What an awesome years those 80s for all kind of cinema. Wonderful list, including those that not make the list too, but these 10 are really great. I haven't seen "Fear City" and "Tightrope" yet, sure I'll do. The top three are perfect. 😎👌
Tough to beat the top 3 but Fear City and Tightrope will absolutely keep you entertained. Scandalous stuff. And as always, thanks for checking out my video!

@@geekinwithJamesHancock yeah solid selection, funny how such movies are almost impossible to make nowadays have you watched - bedroom window with isabelle hupper? it's also pretty decent erotic thriller from that time period
Great list. Body Heat is definitely a fave of mine. Kathleen Turner was jaw droppingly hot, and yep, a willdy sexy smoker. I saw it in the theater with my girlfriend, who broke my heart and dumped me later that night, but not before some wild breakup sex - I think we were both too damn worked up over the movie to just go our separate ways without first getting it on 😂
well, this was brilliant video, analysis, I've never confronted the erotic thrillers I've loved, BOdy double was amazing on hbo, Angel Heart I think of neonior, but it's the hottest movie of the eighties, Fatal Attraction, I saw in theaters and later relived through several times, so a warning unheard. BOdy heat was hot, and NEar Dark I find extremely romantic, hot and thrilling...too supernatual for ya I guess
Message received and I'm definitely already brainstorming about future top 10 lists. Lots of movie reviews and House of the Dragon coverage over the next few weeks.
Crimes of Passion, Blue Velvet, and Body Double definitely made an impact on me. All three very different films in tone but still fit the bill. And for fun, the ear worm that never gets old: ua-cam.com/video/Ukv9vpdxFk0/v-deo.html
Since the writers strike, the overall quality of film has the sex appeal of hospital socks dipped in 6 train rain/flood water, wrapped in bacon. Erotic thriller genre is such a lost art it’s like calculus for a 3rd grader.
It is a total mystery to me why this genre has gone away. The movies are cheap to make and every once in a while a good one would come along and generate dump trucks full of cash for the filmmakers.
Good list. For me, Body Double is number one. It feels like a lost Hitchcock film, the same way Basic Instinct, does, and it takes place in Hollywood, where I live, and I love seeing all the locations I know. Any movie with L.A. as the setting automatically jumps up higher on any list for me (plus I really love the Frankie Goes To Hollywood "Relax" video in the middle. Great song. Great band!). Dressed To Kill would be number two. In many ways, it feels like it hits many of the same beats as Body Double, especially the following scenes and the twist when the killer is revealed. Body Heat is good. Blue Velvet is fantastic... but I think I, The Jury would be my number three, which you didn't include. Armand Assante as Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer and a fully nude Barbara Carrera... ya can't beat it!
