Thanks for sharing. Probably should have mentioned that Flightstream 210 is needed in order for this to work for those who are new to this. Thanks for your time to make this video.
Just installed a flight stream 210 last night. Looking forward to extending the life of my 530W. Hopefully ADS-B data from Stratus still overlays with the FS210 Connext device. Thanks for posting!
@@davidrussell2239 3 wires pinned to 210 and 430/530 per wire diagram. I used RS232 input. Decent mount behind panel and it was done. Probably had 3 hours install time.
Does flightstream 210 work with the non-waas units? GNS-430? My transponder is adsb compliant and has waas. Transponder is linked to ipad for location, traffic, & weather. My GNS-430 is a non-waas unit though and I'd heard the flight stream only worked with waas units. Thanks
The title and content of this video are misleading. First, the title and content fail to mention that the Garmin Flight Stream 210 device is a required accessory. The device costs about $1,000 plus A&P time to install. Chris did add a comment explaining this, but he didn't edit the title or update the description. Second, in this video the bezel on his GPS navigator says GNS-430, but the Garmin Flight Stream 210 is NOT supported on the GNS 430 (non-WAAS). It only works with the GNS 430W (WAAS enabled). Garmin offers a $4,500 WAAS upgrade for non-WAAS 430 units (plus A&P time), but that return-to-Garmin process does not update the bezel - it will still say GNS 430 even though it is a 430W internally. If you have a GNS 430 (non-WAAS) this solution will cost you about $6k. There are better upgrade options available now. If you have a Garmin 430W, the Flight Stream 210 is still a practical add-on, but consider other upgrades as well. A more accurate title for this video would be "Pairing iPad to Garmin 430W using Garmin Flight Stream 210 for uploading flight plans". Of course, Chris did categorize this video as "Comedy" so perhaps he's just having some fun with us rubes! :)

Can you share what was involved to install the FS210? Cost time complexity?

What buttons did you push? That would've been really helpful to say out loud.
It can send both ways! On a flight this evening I made a change on the Garmin and it automatically updated my iPad.. pretty cool
I am not a professional! Just helping my GA friends, but thanks for the criticism.
Thanka
Cool vid, I never knew this was a possibility. I will check and see if we have the flightstream on our F33. Thanks for posting.
Amazing feature - thanks for posting!

Will this work with Garmin pilot?
Hi Cris...thanks for posting that video...very simple and concise..very helpful...what else ya got ????
Will the Garmin 430 send GPS data to your iPad? Or is the only function to send flight plants to the unit?
Do you have to go to that page in the 430 every time and find your device or just once?
Thank You!!!
Thanks man. Really appreciate it
DO you have to manually pair it each time you start the garmin? Or your ipad or smart phone will automatically pair when you turn it on?
No, just the one time. I’ve moved on to Avidyne nowadays.. and loving it!!!!
Will this work with Garmin 400W
thank you, Sir
Awesome! Thanks for this video.
Can you share how you got to that page in setup?
It looked like last page of AUX page
I called garmin. They said i have to have flight stream to get the Bluetooth capability. I don’t so I’ll keep typing.

Doug W just tiring to help my GA friends. Lighten up dude, life is too short.
Lighten up is right. This helped me configure my FS210. I already knew the pre requisites. Thanks Chris.

I need to see if this can be done with the 530WAAS
What device you need this to work except iPad and Garmin 430?
You need the Flightstream 210
Beware, expect to spend $500 to $ 1100 for a $2 device. Garmin is a horrible greedy monster.
