Stevie Nicks kept me going in the roughest part of my life, mainly through “Edge of Seventeen” on replay. Now that I’m mentally and emotionally doing much better I’m happily branching out in more of her music. All of her words have so many meaning on so many different levels. I am an amateur author attempting to pen a series, studying literature and poetry and I am amazed at how deep her music is. Definitely my favorite musician of all time.

Many people's songs relate to today and Duran have done this many times too. I might add Nicks could not have known about how this song could relate to today, but actually this song of hers is about the ups & downs of Fleetwood Mac-" no one walks away from this battle, for power, keep the fury deep inside you, wish it to end." I suppose all members were just fighting to stay together and let's face it has her and Lindsey's relationship ever been healthy?

The "Dragon" is the band, and the "Battle" is their constant fight to get on and not split up!
In my opinion this song is about the dark time she had when she was in recovery during rehab. The battle she fought within herself to survive. The times when she was a recluse and wouldn’t even see her friends. How in order to survive she had to fight…No one walks away from this battle not from the power…. But now in today’s age, the song means so much more. What this world is coming to and the chaos we live in.
