This was the BEST video I have seen for the Scarlet Lady and it helped a lot. Your warmth and down to earth delivery of everything was great. Your B roll footage was edited so well into your live clips. So great! Thank you!!
Thank you so much, I really appreciate the kind words! We are on Valiant Lady again right now so there will be more Virgin Voyages videos in a few weeks. Happy cruising! 🚢
I always recommend virgin for first time adult cruisers. I’ve been cursing since 2001 and it’s amazing to see all the things that I wish the cruise industry was like successfully done in virgin. Great review🎉
Thank you! We’ve got one booked on Royal Caribbean next year so we’ll see how they compare, but we keep telling everyone how much we love cruising with Virgin.
Tell your wife to start a regiment of meclizine about 4 days before the cruise and stick to it through the cruise and about 4 days after, and it will help with the seasickness
I am so excited. We are first time cruisers period, and have just booked a Southeaster Carribean 7 day on the Valiant Lady in January, 2024. Hoping I don't get sea sick, though.
Amazing, you’ll love it! We’ve done a couple more in the Mediterranean since this one and Amanda didn’t get seasick (I have videos on those as well) and she did bonine, wrist bands, and the herbal patches.
Thanks for the video. We r sailing on Scarlet Lady in November, looks like fun. We have sailed on few other lines and wanted to try Virgin because it looks very interesting.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! You're going to really love it - we actually just did our third Virgin cruise last week! What has been your favorite cruise so far?
@@HDjeff it's pretty unique stuff. We tried one at El Gallo Ecolodge about an hour away from Puerto Plata and then another in the heart of downtown and they were QUITE different. I've come to understand that no two are quite alike!
Looks like so much fun. I've been on Carnival and Norwegian. Do you think that this cruise would be good for a solo traveler? Ive seen other videos about the Scarlet Lady. It looks like you could have a lot of fun there
These cruises are great for solo travelers, they have solo traveler meetups all throughout starting with shortly after you get on board. I think you’d have a great time, I’m actually thinking about doing one solo for a video at some point to see what it’s like. You can also book a solo insider room real cheap, it’s small but a great option if you want a cheap cruise. We managed to book the 2 we did after this one for free with points, and then bid to upgrade to a suite which went through and that was amazing! Cruising is our new favorite thing to do, and Amanda has not gotten seasick since so we booked one on Royal Caribbean for next summer already!
I just did a solo Mediterranean cruise, and it was amazing! They do solo only meet and greet with never ending champagne! Dining alone was not an issue, in fact, some couples I met, often needed down-time from their partners….😂😂. So many activities on board that do not require a partner: bingo, paint n sip, gambling… doing the tours solo was not an issue, cause you’re with so many other folks😊. I will definitely do another drama-free solo cruise😊
I know frequent cruisers who still get sick occasionally. It sounds like you had a smoother ride than we did on your cruise 10 years ago, I don’t suffer from motion sickness but it wasn’t the smoothest ride. ✌️
Yes apparently some of the rooms with the “limited view” have this chair instead. I was not aware of that either but we still liked the hanging chair. Next time we’ll definitely have a hammock.
There were many complaints about the balcony rooms that did not have hammocks, but the hammocks could not be installed due to the ship location,,,,the swinging chair was VV's answer. All the rooms that originally had hammocks still have them; the balcony rooms that were without hammocks got the swing chair.
Yes, you can see most of the itinerary in the app before your cruise. We were much better prepared for Scarlet Night on the Mediterranean cruise we did in May.
Still researching and reading about going on a cruise I know they say the chance of sinking is low and falling off the ship is rare … I want to maybe get the nerve to go on a 3-4 day cruise
Unless you’re like 7’ tall you’re not going to fall off the ship by accident! My sister was nervous about being in the middle of the ocean and she loved it, she’s already looking at another one a couple weeks later.
Me and my girlfriend been looking at cruises she has been on 2 with carnival but this will be my first one and I feel virgin just fits my personality more than others plus NO KIDS!!!! can't stand crotch goblins so them not being there will make the cruise so much better
Yes we lost that gamble, it was like $800 more to guarantee a center room. My mother-in-law just booked the basic balcony option for our next cruise and they put her right in the middle of the ship.
Some of your comments made me laugh. "Razzle Dazzle is considered the signature restaurant." Considered by whom? That's not a designation from VV; they call it the "vegetarian forward" restaurant, and in no way designate any of their restaurants over any other except in terms of the type of food served. There were a couple other strange comments, but overall good review. I did have to laugh about your queue comments. Before my first sailing on VV, a travel agent described VV as a cruise for people who don't want to stand in line or be told what to do. Oh, you thought cruise food would be crummy.....VV has the best food on any line we've cruised. That, and the absence of children made it our "new favorite cruise line." We got off our first cruise with 3 more booked!
I am full of strange comments, please don’t take me too seriously! 😆 I have heard more than one person refer to it as their signature restaurant online but was wondering why because others were much better. I’m afraid if we try another type of cruise like Royal Caribbean or whatever we won’t like it as much as this one, but we’ll find out soon enough. Happy travels! ✌️

Thank you for the super informative vlog! I actually like the size and the hammock more in the limited sea terrace room!
Thank you so much, I’m glad you enjoyed it! We did enjoy the hanging chair, but as we found on our next cruise lying in the hammock is the best!
Great video! I leave for my voyage in 12 days too excited
Thank you, you’re going to love it! We’ve booked 4 more with Virgin since this one.
I've been watching all the videos on UA-cam on VV, I'm booked for July 2023! Thank you !!!
That’s awesome, I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

That’s amazing, Alaska is one of my two remaining states to visit and we will definitely plan a cruise there. Happy travels! ✌️
Great video
Thank you! 🙏
What a great video!!!! I'm so excited for my upcoming VV cruise in July!
You are going to have such a great time Gina, we are going again in May and I am beyond excited. Happy cruising!
Going in May can’t wait
Amazing, which ports are you visiting? We are sailing from Barcelona on the Valiant Lady on 5/14 and I am so excited!
10:53 - I see you tried the Mamajuana!!
Yes, I sure did! That’s good stuff, I wish I brought a bottle home.

The sea sickness is odd...when I went on a cruise 10 years ago with Celebrity cruises, it didn't even feel like I was on a cruise.

@@HDjeff I heard it depends where you are on the ship and time of year you are at sea. Some months the waters are more rough.
Hi I see a different kind of hammock. Is this new?

@@HDjeff really? The rails are that tall? Don’t look like it watching the vids
@@RenoTae yes I am 6'1" or 185cm and the railing is halfway up my chest. I would have to hurl myself over the side on purpose.
Don’t bother going on any other cruise line. Virgin is the best vaca I have ever had!
You’ll be happy to know we are on our third one right now on Valiant Lady and we’ve already got the fourth one pre-booked. 😂 Happy travels! ✌️

🤣 That was a big reason we chose this cruise too, can’t say I missed the children!
You will love it
Booking a cabin at the front of the ship doesn’t help sea sickness unfortunately
