Vandal Hearts is a fantastic game. Not overly complicated like Final Fantasy Tactics, but not shallow by any means. DOOM on the PS1 had my friend and I up all night playing it when it came out. The atmosphere is smothering in that version. I realized we needed to take a break when I started leaning around the tv to try to see around corners 😂
sick line up. i have all of these games if you count emulation of course...but i do have a disc of ehrgeiz. so glad i got that randomly at some gamestop in florida in 2005 lawl
I definitely need to checkout clock tower and God bless the ring. Your right when you said the selling point was FF7 characters because I was scrolling through eBay last week and got excited because I saw cloud 😂and realized I'd never seen this game before. Anyway, great info and video boss, keep up the good work 💪🤙
That's a very nice list, you just introduced me to a new game I've never seen before, Rival Schools, I'm looking forward to playing it soon and add it to my collection! oh and I absolutely love Vandal Hearts, a true hidden gem for sure.
Great pix. I played and really enjoyed the first VANDEL HEARTS. RIVAL SCHOOLS is very good. The sequel on Dreamcast PROJECT JUSTICE is even better. One of my favorites.
There's a mod somewhere for the PC version of Doom that tries to recreate Doom PS1 and its atmosphere, it even uses assets from it and music that you have to supply yourself from your copy, just like how DOOM 64 had a recreation too before id made an official port. The advantages of course are that you can play on modern systems with unlocked framerates and resolution.
The PlayStation port of Doom had an advantage because of the CD-Audio chip inside the console. On early models, it was the best Sony CD Player on the market.
I reccomend threads of fate to you. An underrated square arpg with massive amounts of charm. The plot is simple but the gameplay is what really hooks you. And itll most likely never be rereleased. Unless its happened and I dont know about it
Yes also have that, and is very different from the PS1 version. Every version ported to all the consoles throughout the 90s are different, the PS1 version happens to be my personal favorite and has a cult following for a reason.
@@RetroMediaRoom It's a port of the PlayStation version which is based on the Atari Jaguar version. You should have listed Final Doom if you wanted console exclusive version listed.
I meant to include Final Doom because it is absolutely exclusive, but forgot by the time I was editing. Yes the Jaguar version DNA is in these and yes the Saturn version is similar, but not the same, so the "Custom Playstation Edition" is a single unique version from all the rest. I explained the nuance in the video, the only way you can play this EXACT version of Doom, is on PS1.
Nope I don’t need to play they play like trash on the PS1 if you want fighting games you play on the Sega Saturn or Nintendo 64 Sony wasn’t thinking right when they released their first console it just made me go buy Japanese games on the Saturn
In the case of 2-D fighters yes, the Saturn was far superior, X-men vs Street Fighter being a prime example. 3-D fighters on the other hand are fantastic on PS1.
@@RetroMediaRoom Did you buy the marvel Vs capcom or marvel Vs capcom 2 arcade 1 up yet cause I did now my problem is over with X-men Vs street fighter and marvel super heroes Vs street fighter playing like trash that’s what arcade 1 up is for to buy the games that failed on consoles and have them in English no longer need to play them in Japanese the PS1 was a joke it sucked on NBA hang time even sports games you can’t blame the publishers it’s Sonys fault I hacked the entire PS1 classic I added every PS1 game on it ever released
@@RetroMediaRoom I’m playing on Xbox series X and PS5 sometimes on Nintendo Switch for their exclusive these are the three consoles that everyone should be playing on not old weak consoles from the 90’s 80’s
Yes that VERSION of Doom is exclusive to PS1, it's literally called "Custom Playstation Edition" and I explain in detail that the sound, music, lighting, and more are unique to this version making it one of my favorite ways to play the game.
@Chaosweaver763 it shows they never played it. ANYONE that played PS1 Doom knows what's up. It's the penultimate version of one of the most important games ever. This was one of the first ways to have LAN parties with the PS systemlink a copy of Doom. Any other Doom besides this one feels like trash once you've played it and that cannot be overstated. Every Dev should play this DOOM to see tried and true formulas even overplayed ones can still bare fruit if care and understanding the IP is applied.
Funny story I was lamenting not being able to get my hands on this DOOM anymore to my older brother when he was visiting from out of state. This DOOM we purchased along with our PlayStation that was our joint Xmas for the year and he goes "Oh I still have it.!" Along with our other games some of them in those glorious big ass cases Doom including. He's bringing it next time he comes this way I can't wait to show it to my son!

100% agree! Doom's ability to system link was very cool 😀

Great video! I love the old Clock Tower game. Played through it a few times to see different endings just a couple of weeks ago.
It may be rough around the edges, but it's such a classic game 😀

Yep I'm really glad I got ahold of Project Justice, too bad the series ended there.
@@RetroMediaRoom Only Japan would make that thing. Classic.
Recently stumbled across your channel and really enjoy it!

Yeah I heard about that fan project 😀

It was nice, I used it to play CDs here and there as well as the Dreamcast back in the day.
