This is how i prefer to keep Amy in my memory: as a young, healthy, talented woman, with a brilliant taste of music, ambitious, authentic, emotional, clear, natural, a smile full of life and glowing eyes, having made her first experiences in life and reflecting them! Best message of all times, been said many times before, but eternally true: you can do what ever you want...!

When I was younger I judged Amy for her drug addiction, also that year she won Beyonce at the grammy's and at the time I was kind of a Beyonce fangirl... but now I realize how amazing of an artist she is. She sounds beautiful. When I heard Valerie, I feel so happy. All of her songs make me feel what she must have meant for me to feel. She actually means for us to feel something. There is a certain sparkle in her eyes here that I don't feel now. I really hope she gets her life on track...

The interviews she had before she met Blake are so much easier to watch. I know she suffered from depression since she was like 15 but she seemed much more put together here then she did in her post-B2B interviews. A lot of Celebs who suffered from addiction got to see the brighter end of the tunnel, I just wish Amy was one of them. She was worth more than just 2 albums.

Completely agree. I learn so much more about the real Amy Winehouse from these earlier pre-Blake interviews...she unfortunately had developing issues that needed to be addressed which would eventually get in the way of her exceptional gifts, but her relationship & marriage to BF just pulled her down further imo

Man when she was alive they never showed any of her amazing performances or interviews like this one that showed her passion for music.
BUT instead all they promoted were her bad times which gave her a bad reputation ANd now she has died they now call her a "God"
Fuck this world is fucking sick, they treat the good people like shit
Amy Winehouse was a completely genuine and beautiful girl and its really unfortunate that people never saw that side of her.
    Fuck the press and media

It breaks my heart to see this video, seeing the truly lively person she was and how incredibly genius she was. Then to think about what the drugs did to her and how she really lost control for a while is heartbreaking. This is the Amy I wish the world saw. I'm glad she didn't die an addict, but rather while recovering from her demons and pursuing new goals. I definitely wish she hadn't died, but I'm grateful that she did not die in the midst of her terrible addiction.

what a beautiful way to remeber her.. people can be so negitive, and focus on the bad... if you, or someone you know does, has ever suffered from a addiction you DON'T understand how dark, difficult it is to over come it...she died clean, and ready to start new, and she will in a better place.. may god finally give you the peace you desrve, and may you now feel his unconditonal love!!!

She was MY hero for being so young and saying what she's saying here! She was INTO GOOD MUSIC, meaning, Frank Sinatra and that era's best stuff, hence FRANK!!! She tried to represent something with a classic style! She is fabulous, the drugs are the enemy here, NOT Amy. Bless her. She had "IT" and will always be a super star to me!

This was the real Amy Winehouse, and how I'll remember her. I'm really sad she lost the battle. Even if she didn't die of an overdose, she probably died because her body was too weak to keep going. Those people who are saying "she got what she was looking for" have probably never met anyone who has alcohol or drug problems and have no idea how hard it is for them to get out of it. They only saw Amy through the glasses of prejudice.

I guess this makes me feel a sense of joy, rather than sadness. To see the intelligence and excitement in her eyes, to see the strong, decisive gestures of her right hand. And to know, as she clearly did, that she would soon send out the voice of her soul and reach millions.

isnt that horrible? here you have a musical genius and the only thing most people know her for is what she did in her spare time, not even fully acknowledging what she actually brought to the table, innovations, talent and albums so full of pure, dense, substance its breath taking. she created such amazing work, but she was sad. hearing her talk about "real music" makes me sad because i think she lost that direction later on. it all became about her and her demons instead of being about music

"I guess what interests me a lot is the relationship two people can have with eachother, and how badly that can get messed up sometimes when other "things" get involved."
I wonder if at this point in her life it was drugs, alcohol, down w/ OPP? She seems so different at this stage, still upbeat and full of life, but talks kind of like she's already started down the road that ultimately killed her.
Oh if you could have only survived it all Amy, there was so much more waiting for you.
