    Do u have to go to a Russell group Uni or a top university at undergrad level?

    • @adbi-hasanahmed6808
      @adbi-hasanahmed6808 6 місяців тому

      A lot of the people in the profession have gone to top universities (mostly cambridge, oxford or imperial etc), and a lot of them do have degrees at masters level or beyond. That being said, I have also seen people in the profession that have not gone to Russell Group Unis etc and do perfectly well in their careers. There are also some firms that almost look to exclusively hire from target unis whereas others are less bothered about that. I would not say it is definitely not the be all and end all- as long as you are a clear communicator and can grasp complex technical concepts (and can communicate that in an interview) i would say that is the main thing.

      Bummer, that's not all that impressive.
      I was thinking of giving it a go thinking it'll be ridiculously well paid, even as a trainee (like some finance graduate schemes).
      It's a good salary for a fresh grad. But it will rise very incrementally until you're fully qualified, which will take 3-4 years and a lot of exams.
      For Ph.D.'s however, which patent law firms love to hire, it's not a great incentive. You can make that much as a postdoc. More in industry, especially after 1 year of experience.
