If bezos, gates and musk were taxed so that their billions were in schools, fire stations, infrastructure, etc., etc., then electric cars would still be a ring but would have decent roads to run on, home delivery would still be a thing but those working in that sector would be paid a decent wage and have less demands on their time and our computers would still browse and internet filled with all the delights we love.
It’s not individuals who suffer from the financial success of the few, it’s everyone.

Not everyone is like what they are talking about. To be honest, most people are too busy going to work, raising kids, paying Bill's and trying to just enjoy the time we have on this earth. I live in California and most people in my town are just trying to live life. People on tv are obsessed with this topic cuz it sells.

Right on fellas. I love Bill Maher. Not so much Piers but as a Gen Xer with emotional and mental struggles, I agree with the content in this segment. We all have our issues but that's not what's to be celebrated. Our accomplishments and strength should be celebrated and our emotional and mental struggles should be supported by our friends, family and mental health professionals. Once we overcome some of our struggles, then that becomes an accomplishment which in turn should be celebrated as well. Within ourselves and those we interact with on a personal level. Not blasted over the social media virtual landmine.

It’s a wild world out here in these online Muslim dating streets. I tried online dating previously but I stopped during the pandemic. Romance was the last thing on my mind during 2020. However, after surviving this past year, I decided to give online dating another whirl. This time around it’s been a healthy mix of fun and sheer f*ckery, and I’m here for it.
Swiping left or right through an endless sea of profiles has made me smile, laugh, creeped me out, and at times confused me. While the types of profiles may vary, there’s one striking similarity that I’ve noticed about many of them - they’re huge time wasters.

I am disabled and 55 years old. Back when I was a kid I had to develop a thick skin. That mental toughness is a great survival mechanism.
Nowadays I see disabled people and they’re whiny. They complain about their friends being too ablest, and all that kind of bullshit. I never thought of it that way, yeah, I envied my friends when I was a lot younger but I learned that I’ve just got to deal with what I have, and have as much fun with my wife as I can. And that’s precisely what I have done. I will never be a weak fuck like a lot of these people today.

I think the British "stiff upper lip" is what caused the Royal Family the most trouble when Princess Diana died. The Queen tried to present a strong face during the tragedy, but too many people interpreted this move, which would have been expected by previous generations, as coldness. Once the public wanted a show of fortitude in the face of tragedy, but now many members of that same public want to see tears.

You have to teach children to be mentally resilient, to enjoy discomfort and stepping out of comfort zone, to never follow the crowd unless it is really sensible, to always adhere to logic over emotion no matter the temptations, to never place empathy as the highest goal because you can never have enough empathy. Generations that forget to teach this suffer collapses throughout history. But it's really the parenting. A parent that never exposes you to the con artist who abuses your trust. A parent that never exposes you to the heartstring pluckers who manipulate your emotions with gut-wrenching stories.
