@JZ's BFF Guns. There's a reason the film wasn't made in America; it would be very short. Not only would the locals unload into the monsters, but we'd be drunk anyway, so there's no way an invasion of these aliens would work.
I agree. The beginning on the asteroid prison with the various aliens was amazing to me as a kid. I would've liked a movie just focusing on the prison. Kill the crites!
This film was fucked over by the Irish film board, which I can safely say, as an Irish person. It was deemed as too much of a gamble for a theatrical release and now it's literally a bargain bin film, which is a damn shame, because it's the only horror film from here that was anyway decent.
ErebosGR Lots of Irish films have that stereotype, it's inherent. It's because it was a horror film, and the Irish Film Board only really promotes quirky comedies or gritty IRA films.
GlacierZombie unfortunately, over here at least, there's fuck all support for something like this. Horror just isn't as big. Hopefully it'll gain a cult following over in the states, but who knows.
I REALLY liked this movie and was thrilled to see this in your "explored" series. They bring up so many tidbits that are amazing to review. Thanks for the continually GREAT content.
Great video, I watched this when it first appeared on Netflix and I remember thinking it was so much better than the standard DTV type movie. It's a shame it's not better known. Keep up the great work, it's always a good day when a new GoodBadFlicks review shows up.
It was full of heart, I remember finding this movie and expecting low budget laughs, but was blown away by the everything from the acting to the direction. And the special effects made me think I had somehow missed a big budget production cinema release.
GMMReviews yeah...its a damn good movie in the Shaun of the Dead style. The most underrated Horrorcomedy the last 10 years along with Attack the Block.
Now I wanna watch this movie again. It reminded me of the old days of finding that straight to vhs gem in the video store...... Damn it's not on netflix anymore.
I love your exploring series. It's such an inspiration to see these small films, made with such passion and love, actually get made and released, and not butchered by studios. But I would love for you to do an Exploring on the films of Nabwana Isaac Godfrey Geoffrey. The man, while he doesn't make the "best" movies, is an incredible film maker. He makes feature films with barely any money, and when I say barely any money, I really mean it. Like one of his earliest films, Who Killed Captain Alex, he made for $200. That's all. This man is one of my film making heroes, and he needs to be more widely known.
I loved this film! The definite comparisons to such films as Alien, Shaun of the Dead, and Tremors left me feeling smug for having noticed 😎 I did notice that each time the grabber eggs were shown, the musical score sounded like the haunting music from Alien. Love your reviews!
Oh man I love this when it first cam out . The Grabbers reminded me of the monster from Deep Rising and I though it was also doing homage to it as well.
I viewed the last 15 minutes of this movie on one of the cable channels and was crushed missed it. After looking us the premise on IMDB I kept thinking I have to try and catch this. I am looking forward to hunting it down.
I remember picking this up at my library just by the cover and thought it was so cool, funny, and twisted I wondered how I missed it for so long. For some reason it amazed me that the Irish could make such a great horror/scifi comedy.
Great video! I love this movie so much (along with Attack the Block which is a pretty similar film, only the aliens there invade South London instead of Ireland). I'm surprised how underrated Grabbers is. It's one of the best horror comedies to come out in recent years.
I love this film, unlike a lot of your reviews of movies I've seen, I actually rewatched this recently and thought it was still great. I never knew sod all of the facts you dug up about the film and the one about the Composer was especially interesting. Awesome review as always mate.
great review, what a bloody great film , saw it on netflicks and loved it so much the next day got it on amazon, for me it is better than tremors(which i also love).
This was a good movie to watch, as well as the weakness to alcohol is one of the best weaknesses of a movie monster I have ever seen. Considering it took humans a few million years to evolve the ability to process alcohol, and its a very rare trait out in nature.
you are wo right....this movie was the best. I loved it. It really does have the feel of tremors but with that Irish humor and sensibilities. You are so right on with your reviews I think I love you!!!! haha Thank you so much
This film was ace, totally blew me away. I got this knowing absolutely nothing about it barring it being a straight to video sci-fi horror. How good could it be? Then after watching it, I just couldn't get over how it failed to get a theatrical release, as you say, the effects put some of the big budget Hollywood dross to shame, it deserved much better. I've watched this 3 times now and each time I seem to enjoy it even more. :) P.S Definitely down with the guys below shouting for an Exploring Critters video, I bet there's a ton of interesting facts you could dig up for that one :)
THANK YOU sooo much for this movie! Thanks to you I found this little gem and watched it right after seeing your video. You are right, this is great movie with tons of heart. In some ways, it reminded me of Tucker and Dale vs Evil. Very funny and sweet. Love you works!!!
I love your reviews and it is spot on for this awesome gem. I wouldn't have found it without "the angry orange cat." Keep up the good work. I've been to Ireland, and this movie is closer to the truth than most documentaries. Keep going with Good Bad flicks, and if you get a chance, maybe do Galaxy of Terror (1981), or Forbidden World (a.k.a. Mutant - 1982). Take care.
Thanks! Glad to point people in the direction of movies they wouldn't have found otherwise. I'm hoping to visit Ireland one day. Both Galaxy of Terror and Forbidden World are on the list! (Galaxy will most likely be sometime around August or Sept)
loved this film, my wife was asleep upstairs when I watched it, I had to keep using a pillow to cover my face as I was laughing so loudly. would definitely recommend it, so much fun.
After watching your review about this movie, I had to rent it. Never heard of this film, but thanks to you, I got the pleasure to enjoy a great flick. Keep up the awesome content.
Just watched Grabbers after seeing your video! Where do I begin...! Feckin' fantastic! I'm also English with Irish parents and it's not just a brilliant horror film but a wonderful take on Irish village life - if the village was besieged by slimy smelly aliens! How could this not be on general release in every cinema in the world?
Good! Watching your channel is like going back to Film School! I've seen so many great, kooky and scary movies over the past 2 months. Films that I'd never have gotten round to seeing if it wasn't for your site! Also the quality of comments is far higher than the usual youtube fare! Seriously, keep it up!
Now this is the reason I am subscribed to you, Cecil. THIS will be my movie recommendation on Saint Patrick's Day :) Hope you are doing okay with Patreon money and stuff, because your videos are probably the only ones I watch the moment they come out. Well... them and VideoGameDunky's)
I lived in Ireland for a past 10 years, but I have never heard of this movie. I knew most of Irish films such as The Guard, The Calvary, Man about the Dog, In Bruges, Intermission etc... as well as most classics such as Angelas Ashes, The Matchmaker, Far and Away and many others including the ones you have mentioned, but this gem will definitely appear on my "watch as soon as possible" list. Huge thanks for for shinning the light on this film.
Grabbers if a film I found mostly by accident years ago. Ive often looked for good cult films that are quality but unknown as opposed to things like Sharknado. Im still trying to find the title of a Lovecraft parody film about a Plumber who has to save the world I know of.
Booze as alien repellent? Ladies and Gentlemen: The most Irish film ever made.
My kind of repellent
@JZ's BFF Guns. There's a reason the film wasn't made in America; it would be very short.
Not only would the locals unload into the monsters, but we'd be drunk anyway, so there's no way an invasion of these aliens would work.
Thanks for covering this film. It's one of my favorite horror films of recent years & it deserves to be seen & enjoyed by a lot more people.
I would actually love an "Exploring Critters" video.
Yeeeessssssssss!
John holman Agreed!!!!
John holman I've been asking him to do that one. That movie is one of my favorite B-comedy horror movie.
I agree. The beginning on the asteroid prison with the various aliens was amazing to me as a kid. I would've liked a movie just focusing on the prison. Kill the crites!
YEAHHHHH. Please do it GBF!
This film was fucked over by the Irish film board, which I can safely say, as an Irish person. It was deemed as too much of a gamble for a theatrical release and now it's literally a bargain bin film, which is a damn shame, because it's the only horror film from here that was anyway decent.
Hugh Turner Spot on I couldn't agree more
Was it because the movie plays so heavily on the drunk Irish stereotype?
ErebosGR Lots of Irish films have that stereotype, it's inherent. It's because it was a horror film, and the Irish Film Board only really promotes quirky comedies or gritty IRA films.
That may be... but this one has what it takes to become a cult classic making more money than it ever would have in theaters,
GlacierZombie unfortunately, over here at least, there's fuck all support for something like this. Horror just isn't as big. Hopefully it'll gain a cult following over in the states, but who knows.
I REALLY liked this movie and was thrilled to see this in your "explored" series. They bring up so many tidbits that are amazing to review. Thanks for the continually GREAT content.
I love Ruth Bradley in this. She's brilliant
THE EXPLORING SERIES ARE DOOOOOPE!!
I know. It's always great to hear what's happening behind the scenes!
Hes got me hook watching them too
This just went from, "never heard of it" to, " I'll be watching this soon"
:)
Hope you enjoy it!
Remember renting this and it was awesome.
Great video, I watched this when it first appeared on Netflix and I remember thinking it was so much better than the standard DTV type movie. It's a shame it's not better known. Keep up the great work, it's always a good day when a new GoodBadFlicks review shows up.

Now this was an AWESOME FLICK! For some reason I want to see this cross over with the tremors series!
"Get away from him you CUUUUUUUUUUUNT!" I definitely gonna watch this movie again. Thanks GBF! I remember watching it on IFC.
This is why I'm subscribed to you! Never heard of this film before, but I'm watching it tonight!
Go for it, it's a cracking film, like Cecil said, it's got so much going for it and a lot of heart, rare these days for a film like this :)
Not that you were even talking to me but hey ho, I'm nosey :)
GMMReviews yeah...its a damn good movie in the Shaun of the Dead style. The most underrated Horrorcomedy the last 10 years along with Attack the Block.
GMMReviews: It's opened up a "whole new world" for me. 😉
How did you acquire the movie? Did you pirate it?
Now I wanna watch this movie again. It reminded me of the old days of finding that straight to vhs gem in the video store...... Damn it's not on netflix anymore.
I love your exploring series. It's such an inspiration to see these small films, made with such passion and love, actually get made and released, and not butchered by studios.

Love your reviews!
Sounds like the cast and crew had a blast filming this! GoodBadFlicks does it again, pointing me towards a potential hidden gem of a movie.
Love this movie.
One of my favorite movies from the last ten years. I loved every moment of this movie.
Oh man I love this when it first cam out . The Grabbers reminded me of the monster from Deep Rising and I though it was also doing homage to it as well.
I love this film. You can feel the dedication from the crew and producers.
I know what I'm watching next year for St. Patrick's Day!
This movie had one of the best cheesy jokes ever told. "It's a dead one of these." Brilliant.
I was laughing for a solid 5 minutes at that.
I viewed the last 15 minutes of this movie on one of the cable channels and was crushed missed it. After looking us the premise on IMDB I kept thinking I have to try and catch this. I am looking forward to hunting it down.
Nearly 30,000 views in 24 hours! So nice to see Cecil getting the audience he deserves. 300k here we come,
Woot! Thanks! I'm getting there! :)
Absolutely loved this film. I only gave it a shot because your channel, and videos have convinced me to give even the most unassuming films a chance.
This is one of the best monster movies I've ever seen, right up there with Tremors.
So glad I watched this one when it came up on Netflix. It was a pleasant surprise!
This is a modern classic in my opinion :)
Thank you for introducing me to this I can't wait to check it out
Hope you enjoy it!
I went and found this movie because of your review. It was extremely entertaining! Thanks!
Love your channel because you bring to light many missed gems such as this!
I remember picking this up at my library just by the cover and thought it was so cool, funny, and twisted I wondered how I missed it for so long. For some reason it amazed me that the Irish could make such a great horror/scifi comedy.
I love this film so much😘🤣🤙 I wish more films could be as good as this amazing piece of work 😁😋🤙🤙
Great video! I love this movie so much (along with Attack the Block which is a pretty similar film, only the aliens there invade South London instead of Ireland). I'm surprised how underrated Grabbers is. It's one of the best horror comedies to come out in recent years.

Found this on Netflix, thought it was a B movie, passed it up several times but when i finally clicked on it i loved it. Has some British/Irish humor.
Saw it.
Rate: HG... For Hilarious Good.
Cracked myself at the bar scene with the grablings.
I'm so glad I have found others who love Critters movie series. I also love love the Tremor films
Loved this film- discovered it on Netflix and was pleasantly surprised. Thank you for covering this!
Thanks for watching!
It’s great to see you explore this movie gem.
This was a good movie to watch, as well as the weakness to alcohol is one of the best weaknesses of a movie monster I have ever seen. Considering it took humans a few million years to evolve the ability to process alcohol, and its a very rare trait out in nature.
Birds and Elephants get drunk off rotting fruit but those are the only other animals that I know of. Maybe apes or chimpazees do.
I love this movie so much - thanks for this explore ep ☺️
I just watched this on Netflix this past weekend - we really enjoyed it.
I LOVE this series.
Awesome movie I watched in Singapore cinema back in 2012 which I have long forgotten, until this video came up. Thanks for reminding me of it!
I've never heard of this movie before until now. Thanks for the info, I'll be checking this one out.
Grabbers is a great movie! Glad to see you spreading the word about it!
you are wo right....this movie was the best. I loved it. It really does have the feel of tremors but with that Irish humor and sensibilities. You are so right on with your reviews I think I love you!!!! haha Thank you so much
Grabbers set out to be a fun ride and thats what we got. need to get a dvd of it again.
This film was ace, totally blew me away. I got this knowing absolutely nothing about it barring it being a straight to video sci-fi horror. How good could it be? Watched this on netflix and it was a really good flick. It stands out like shaun of the dead. Well acted and well done.
After watching your review about this movie, I had to rent it. Never heard of this film, but thanks to you, I got the pleasure to enjoy a great flick. Keep up the awesome content.
Watching this years back loved it forgot about it now gonna re-discover
Hey man I'm from Ireland and I love your videos. Thank so much for making an episode about this movie.
OMG! A well thought out, well done film. Awesome team work from all. Classy to destroy the drunk real life footage.
Thank you for bringing this original, little known film to my attention.
stop exploring us
ussy

Grabbers, the only film I ever watched and forgot nothing about it but the title.
I guess it just didn't grab me.
thanks for the review! now i need to find this movie. this looks awesome
Love these, thank you! Would love to see your thoughts/ explorations of Blood Drive (2017) series and Spring (2014) film
Grabbers is fantastic and the score is even better.
Now this is the reason I am subscribed to you, Cecil.
THIS will be my movie recommendation on Saint Patrick's Day :)

This was such a fun film. I was so lucky to bump into it years ago.
I´ve watched it yesterday. Excellent pick, mr.!
saw this a while ago, it was much better than i was expecting
Love this movie and totally forgot what it was called. Thanks for the reminder!
I was pleasantly surprised by this film and truly enjoyed it.
A pub crawl as research for the film. Nice work when you can get it.
Ikr. I'm starting all my shoots with one from now on. Hot damn the Irish are brilliant!
Just watched it thanks to your review and loved it!
I remember seeing this on Netflix. such an underrated gem
Thanks for exploring an Irish movie. Even if some of the pronunciations made my eyelid twitch!
The crew deserve to be proud. It was a great film it because it grabbed you and didn't let go. ;)
aliens and drunk irishman on a small island
PERFECTION
Just got to watchimg this one. Loved it.
Oh shit I think I remember watching this movie once!
I remember watching it in cinema in Ireland. Loved it
The worst winter in ireland's history!
Shows a few pictures with less than a millimeter of snow 😆
Never heard of this one. I'm sold!
1st time I've seen this movie i played it three times in a loop. I loved it :)
Welp, gotta add Grabbers to my list of Must Watch Horror Films of October.
aah I love this film. it's criminally underrated. btw I'd love to see an Exploring of Black Dynamite for much the same reasons
Grabbers were the greatest IFC Midnight movie of all time.
The scores was surprisingly excellent for a sci-fi flick.
It was a crime thriller this film didn't get a bigger release. Thanks for acknowledging it.
It's become one of my go to films when there is nothing on...
So. I've seen it lots of times.
Definitely a hidden gem!
Good stuff, can't wait to watch it!
It was released in some cinemas in Ireland
I am actually going to go watch this because of this review.
Thank you for telling us about it.
This movie was a blast and i love the Exploring!
Loved this movie, so much fun 😁👍🏻
Grabbers if a film I found mostly by accident years ago. Ive often looked for good cult films that are quality but unknown as opposed to things like Sharknado. Im still trying to find the title of a Lovecraft parody film about a Plumber who has to save the world I know of.
You have Jeff from Coupling, as one of the main characters in the movie?
Don't need to say more, I'm sold.
