This video is uncanny to me. The ten minute attack was probably worse than most ten-minute animations I've done, and it left me feeling confident. Then I saw the one-hour attack and realised I had been baited. This shit is awesome, and your videos (which got me into pixel art in the first place) are an inspiration to me. I love your style, and the detail you can create with just a few colours. Oh, and the ten-hour attack? What the hell. I consider 'talent' to be an insulting term because it devalues the hard work of experienced artists, but you definitely have some serious talent. The flame effects, that incredible smear dissipation, the consistently clear and engaging posing, the conveyance of movement, the glow of each carefully placed pixel, even the attention to detail with the screen shake...god damn.
so glad i found this account! i've been focusing lately on trying to make a YOMI hustle mod for one of my OCs and i have never done pixel art animation-- or pixel art as a whole so this is really helpful to see the inner workings of making attack animations especially because that's what the game is oriented on. keep making good videos! 😁
I love your art syle. I studied your pixel arts in digital painting a while ago, because I loved it and more I progress, better I love them! The shape language, design and movement in your animations are so great! Love the timelapses, have a great time!!!
Simply great, please keep making more content like this. Also I would be a buyer if you made tutorials about such complicated animations as well. I don't care if it is long. You could make both the UA-cam content and the tutorial at once saving time for you as well. Thanks for your amazing work.
Awesome video, thanks for sharing! In the final 10hr version, how come your palette is empty for most of the process? And following that, what's the reason behind eventually adding to the palette? Total beginner here, sorry!
Thank you! and honestly I don't think I had any reasoning, I was really just going with the flow. Adding/making the palette probably would of been a smart idea to do xD
That is some sick animating skills! How do you come up with such awesome character designs? I'm working on a small portfolio game and I'm really struggling with coming up with creature and character concepts.
ngl it would take me like 2 hours just to do your 10 minute animation, it's not that im bad at pixel art or animation, i just struggle so hard to focus on it, i give myself a 10 minute timer just to do a single draft frame and that's me on an abnormally productive lmao
Hey, got to ask. 4:29 you have a window for color shades. Is that a plugin, and if so what is the name of it? If it is built in I feel bad for not finding it 😂
Hey man I absolutely love the animating you do for this game id love to collaborate with you if you're interested, I make music and would be stoked to make a soundtrack for this game
Question : If you know it, is the mobile application "Resprite" a great option for pixel art in an IPAD? is it like an "Aseprite in mobile version" ? if not, well, in any case, you're incredible man, keep it up :) "SpongeBob Bowing gif" if only i could actually insert it :/
I was expecting the same type of attack, same character, same everything for each segment. "Animating 'an' attack...". Like that sword attack from the start. Then show what you got again by keeping on going with the same animation 10 mins later, then again 1 hour later, and so on. Title probably should've been something like "Animating attacks in 10 secs vs 10 hours" This feels like cheating because title and vid didn't match to me. But i guess it showcases an emulation of what you can do in a given time frame. And the final results are gold.
Something about your mic audio dropping out constantly makes this video really hard to watch for me, and I love your animations man, but that audio thing is really jarring.
Yea it was kind of a bummer it only happened on the one video challenge (long one as well) I do, OBS had some update and messed with my settings. Very unfortunate :(

Thank you so much!! It means a lot seeing comments like this ❤ made my day!
@@Penusbmic Keep up the good work my man
replace the word "talent" with "skill"
I’d say skill, talent is only really what you start with as an artist
Love that background music on the 10h animation, made me emotional about pixel art dude.
Thank you! I wrote that, so this makes me happy!

Bra your animations are so sick! I look up to you a lot as a pixel artist.
Thank you so much! Means a lot 🙂
even the 10 minute one looked good. keep up the amazing work pen!
Thank you Nystic! ❤
I really liked to watch the whole proccess! And as a sound designer, i got inspired to do some stuff with time constraints
thanks for showing me detailed pixel art is no less time comsuming than low poly 3d art
probably gonna have to join this guys patreon etc. I just started studying game design and this dudes tutorials seem pretty fucking lit
Another video by my favorite pixel artist! Cant wait :D
Means a lot Apoka :)
Amazing! There's something soo zen about turning pixel blobs into stuff. It's like working with clay.
Thank you! and it really is!
You should do more Timelapse’s of your creations! I love seeing the process behind what goes into each character lol ❤❤
I shall plan some more 🙂🙂
Omg this is epic, the jump attack is insanee
Thanks chaba ❤️
Aaaah I’ll be working at that time 😢 have a great stream! 🔥🍻
I like this work in 1 hour and 10 hours, because looks good
Holy, every animation was remarkable... but the 10 hour one is most definitely a masterpiece!!
Thank you so much!! 🙂
Love the slashes
Ty 😊
Una pasada, sigue así.
im really inspired by your work man... GG
Thank you!! 🙂
Amazing work!
Thank you! 🙂

@@Penusbmic Haha fair enough :D It was fascinating to watch you in that flow state so well worth it!
Great video you should make more like this, one small thought tho the music is a bit loud and can drown out your voice, otherwise Great video!
Thank you! And noted 🙂🙂

awesome!
Not using keyboard shortcuts is crazy
I do, just panicked lmao
Have u done any videos on Aseprite keybinds/shortcut. If u havent it might be a good content 😅
Luv ur stuff ❤
This is a really good idea! I shall plan one 🙂
Are you plan to draw any characters for Halloween?
Insane

Nice
What charecters' sprite size do you recommend for time efficency and smoothness? 16x16, 24x24,32x32 or larger?
Yes 16x16, 24x24, and 32x32 are good sizes for efficiency, once you get to 48 or 64 it starts becoming very time consuming!
Hey, got to ask. 4:29 you have a window for color shades. Is that a plugin, and if so what is the name of it? If it is built in I feel bad for not finding it 😂
Hey if you search "aseprite color shade extension" it's the first one what comes up through google, It's just called Color Shading :)
@@Penusbmic Not to bother you, but how many frames per millisecond do you use in your animations?

I haven't used resprite before, I use Pixquare with my IPAD and love it. Also bonus if you use the code PENUSBMIC with Pixquare you get 30% off 🙂
I am using the Pixaki app on ipad. Can recommend it
How do you do that mirroring/reflection effect on the bottom? like as if there was water under
I just copy all the layers and flatten them, flip them and change the opacity down :)
So awesome. Do you make a living as a pixel artist?
@@THESUPERGUNS thank you! And yup 😀
Hi, i have a question, are you usimg a grafic tablet or just a mouse? Or bouth of them?
I use both! mostly a mouse to animate though

Pls what is the game engine that u use to create the game
I Use Gdevelop :)
I came from reddit, this is so sick
Weooo thanks for stopping by and watching!
How many frames per millisecond do you use in your animations?
In aseprite I usually have it around 75 ms
do i hear mouse clicks when you draw? Are you using a mouse to draw?
I am! I mostly use a mouse 🙂 I do have a drawing pad but I find myself using it less and less these days
Will it be available for Android?
Sad no one almost watched it

aseprite on desktop and pixquare on Ipad :)
What do you do for a living just UA-cam?
He's creating some assets for other developers and sells his as well
UA-cam revenue is very little, mostly do contract work/sell assets/patreon stuff 🙂
