But she couldn't she got too much resentment because he never once said he liked her and it appears to her because she did most of the chasing that she doesn't mean much to him. She even says it to him in her jokes. Am not important right. This why I take jokes seriously and I prefer being straight forward. Xiaoxi was always sad whenever she couldn’t spend time with Chen because of how his job was always left right and center, so I’m pretty sure that now she’s fed up with it because her day has been sh*t and all she ever wanted is to spend time with her boyfriend.
..xiaoxi also just experienced something traumatic that day..imagine the fear she had after escaping the maniac then going to the hospital learning from a random nurse that your boyfriend was going to leave..anyway, this just shows that truly loving each other will not make the relationship last..it takes more than love to make it work..you will need a lot of effort, time, commitment, adjustments, trust, communication and compromises for the relationship to last..❤️

Uptil now he was never the one to do anything first, he was never the one to call first, text first, make efforts to meet, on top of that he didn't even show how much she means to him, heck he didn't even say anything about the fact that he has an opportunity from Beijing. its weird how people are blaming xiaoxi. Yes idealistically, both of them should communicate well and trust each other, but they are not perfect. They are potrayed very realistically in my opinion. They are 20 something. Her insecurities and need for his presence is a very humane reaction. Her wanting her bf by her side while transitioning from a university student to a grown working woman and doing a bunch of new stuff, does not make her toxic at all. And him not being able to juggle his professional life and personal life is also not his fault. Many medical officers do not get into a relationship for this same reason. Them breaking up was the right thing to do. They have to focus on themselves and mature before committing again. Its neither of their faults. Them breaking up was the right thing to do.
