    He's awesome! And with only a handful of paints too! A minimalist approach can really work out at times.
    Druchii Violet is a seriously underrated paint. I've yet to find something that it doesn't look incredible with. It does simply beautiful things with metallics and really creates that alien look as there's no such thing as purple metal in our daily lives.
    Vashtorr looks more machines than man... Daemon... God-to-be... Whatever he is... The flesh looks like something that's barely holding him together and you're doing a great job selling that effect here.

    He looks stunning, I like how he seems to bring a look I've seen from old 40k art work a mix of body horror but cool design with how the skin and metal are fused and pulled. Your paint job definitely helped bring that to life :) how was his trim compared to other you've painted recently? Easier, harder, or relatively the same?
    Great video as always Andy :)

      It was actually a fairly easy model to paint surprisingly enough.

    I would have to say the quickest way for those panels wouldn't be to paint all of it gold but paint the parts you want to be gold and not worry about what else it hits, then you've got less surface area to cover that's my opinion is there something I'm missing? Would that affect the end product?

    how much did the silver spray over black look like metallic black in person once the Druchi violet wash dried?

    Definitely better than the one from the official Warhammer youtube channel, great job on this mini. I wanted to ask btw, does it have any hard to reach spots that would deserve sub assemblies?

      That’s very kind pal. Thank you. Em you could leave the wings off that mite make some parts easier. But all in all I don’t have any problems.

    I find it much better to paint the trim first and the flat parts of the armor after.

    • @MediocreHobbies
      @MediocreHobbies  Рік тому

      Ye some people do. And it depends how much trim is on the model I guess.

    so when you use a black primer first then leadbelcher did you do that just for the effect or does that help make it so that you can actually paint on top of leadbelcher?
    meaning I have sprayed things with only leadbelcher and that does not hold paint it's not a primer it's more like a repellent lol that mean it's not impossible but you got through the wash on it at least first or paint straight out of the pot

    • @MediocreHobbies
      @MediocreHobbies  Рік тому +1

      Yes the black and then silver gives it a nicer starting point and stops the hydrophobic thing from happening

      @@MediocreHobbies outstanding thank you!!!
      I actually went to the GW store and ask them about it and they told me just to paint straight out of the pot that that's the way leadbelcher was designed... I'm pretty sure that's a bunch of b*******

    The only part of the hit that supposed to be metal it's just that most sharp creases there the flat part that looks like the crest of hip bone and it's the one metal piece but it is supposed to be kind of wrapped in flesh so it's almost more like a metallic highlight but the way you did it looks fine I believe

    I have loosely been following your painting method and just wanted to say a huge thank you for this tutorial and the paint list! Its my first time painting a big expensive model and your video gave me the confidence to actually get it done. After doing all the gold and bronze its starting to look amazing. Cant wait for the final results!

    Surely for the glow effects you should have used dark angels green contrast???

      Very well said! Always pick and what you like yourself for tutorials! I went with a colour that made this model tie in with the rest of my armies but it’s a easy point to switch colours!
