The love you guys have for each other is palpable. It's just so heart warming watching n listening to a young couple who support, respect n adore each other. You are showing your younger audience what it looks like to be in a strong, healthy, loving relationship n I think that's so important, as a lot of them don't know what that looks like. And highlighting that they can achieve their dreams, even if they come from a low income family, is priceless Xx
It's never too late, either. I'm in my third year of a film degree, which I started when I was 43 years old. So if you feel like the dream has passed you by, that doesn't need to be the case.
I don't know who needs to hear this but: you're never too old or too anything to start! I'm 29 years old and am starting drama school in September (lockdown permitting). It's ok if you don't know yet what you want to do for the rest of your life at 18, but make sure you work hard so that once you do find it, you can make your own dreams come true ❤️
Hearing your story gave me so much hope Ollie! I want to audition for drama schools next year. I started musical theatre and dance at the age of 14 so I felt like I was too late to the game. I come from a low income family and one of the things that worries me is that even if I'm good enough to get in I won't be able to afford it. You are living proof that what I'm trying to do is possible! Thank you for brightening my days both of you. I hope quarantine treats you well, keep inspiring others to enjoy and persue theatre! Xxx
I did a drama audition for the School of the Arts in South Carolina when I lived there (around age 13), and was offered a place for the following year. I turned it down because my best friend who had auditioned for music wasn’t offered a place. Biggest, possibly only, regret of my life. I’ve always wanted to do something in the field and I feel like that was my biggest opportunity - wasted.
It's tough but since you can't change the past, use it as a lesson to be the leading lady in your own life (think I learned that from The Holiday) and remember it next time a big opportunity comes your way :)
I love these videos! I want to be a librarian in a school and that is definitely influenced by my mum as I have her same passion for reading. Carrie my dad was like yours, my dad works as a lorry driver so I have memories of him as a kid with a high vis and dirty hands. 😊
This was so lovely to hear those stories :) Bizarrely I think it was my maternal grandad who influenced my love of dance as he was an amazing ballroom dancer, which my mum inherited. Music was always in my house too as my mum loved that and theatre. The one thing my dad gave me was work ethic. No idea where my love of circus came from.
This was so lovely to hear! I am one of four children in my family and my dad is only a vicar so we don’t have enough to sort of use it all on getting me into drama school so I will have to go for only UCAS drama schools. But this video definitely made it seem more possible for me! :))
I loved hearing about your parents dreams. My dad was in a bit of a garage band when he was younger and he was actually a fairly decent drummer so like Ollie said I'm sure he would have wanted to be more successful. But he also became an alcoholic early on he has told me he is so glad they never "made it big" because he was sure going on tours and living that kind of lifestyle would have totally ruined him :( instead he got married, had kids, has been sober for decades, and fulfilled a new dream of working for himself. My mom's dream was to be a nurse, and she has been a nurse now for about 40 years :)
Reminds me of my dad. My dad is an amazing artist and when he was at school got offered an art scholarship but he turned it down to join the army. I wish there was something I was passionate about. There's never been anything for me. When I was little I wanted to do ballet but my mum wouldn't let me. 😕
I got into drama/musical theatre because I was quite shy as an only child so my parents put me into a am dram group to bring out my confidence :) it worked that’s for sure!
So interesting, my parents raised me on musicals so that's definitely had a massive impact but my parents have no idea about the industry and are learning alongside me. They're so supportive but would have been with whatever career or passion I chose. I've wanted to be an actor since I saw Galinda fly down in the bubble age 10 but it's been really serious from age 14 probably
My mum lived her dream - high flying business woman at BT in London and my dad has done everything under the sun except his ultimate dream. He wanted to be a policeman but he was basically told no you'll be an electrician at school so he did that. But his passions are fixing complex tech and photography - he's done both professionally in many ways
I have no idea how i got into acting and decided that was the career path i wanted 😂 my mum HATES plays and MT haha! and i LOVE it, the only theatre she's seen is stuff I've been in and Cats once, Cats and grease are the only musicals she's ever liked... so who knows where my love for it came from haha
Everytime I'm reminded at the prices of UK schools my stomach drops. The MINIMUM you would ever pay in the US is 20,000 a year, but realistically it's closer to 30,000. I went to school in the wrong place.
Loved this topic! I'm 27 and my career went down a very different path to musical theatre but it was my own impossible dream that I made happen. However I still feel like musical theatre will be a part of my life later on somehow. Who knows. Maybe i'll be in an ensemble aged 40!
I'm glad you achieved your dreams, and it's a nice thought and all, but many people have dreams they cannot and will not ever achieve for a variety of reasons. Some dreams die and others take their place, and that's okay, too.
I so badly needed this vlog I just realised after watching. I'm trying to pursue my passion for acting. I'm late too coming to it being 23. I didn't find my passion till I was 18 but I was at college studying something completely unrelated to performing and I didn't want to drop out. It wasn't till 2 years after I graduated I started to do something about it which I am still trying to, though I'm not having much success and I'm starting to think whether I should carrying on following it, though I have such a deep passion for it.
Love this- I feel so inspired. But Ollie you didn’t say “stay safe out there” today, how am I supposed to feel safe if you don’t tell me to every day?!?
If you are above the income threshold to qualify for free fees but not wealthy enough to actually afford tuition fees what can you do? Also can you get a student loan like with university?
Hey guys, loved this video! I look forward to your morning chats so much 😊 I’m doing a musical theatre isolation challenge, check it out 🤩 I’m mega proud of some of my covers I’m doing! Xxx

Oli's daily advice: Don't feel like you can't achieve your dreams... cause you can DO IT!! ♥️
Ellie-Hope Suzanne I needed that one. 😂🥰

I wont lie... the don't feel like you cant achieve your dreams stuff actually made me teary eyed. I think i needed to hear that today

As an American listening to the prices of higher education in the UK is fucking bizarre how cheap that seems to me

There will be more ☺️ when you're young friends feelings feel so important but that's something you've learnt from

Yayyyyyy I've been waiting for this and refreshing for like 5 mins!! These videos are the highlight of my day 😂😂🤩🤩🤩🤩
I finally got my notifications to work, but it's like a minute slow

These videos are the highlight of my day! 😂👏🏻 Pleaseee show us the Madame Leota painting! I’m missing Disney so much 😭😂🐭🏰
I was in the audience for McFly in Wembley when Carries dad came out!
I'm making a Hogwarts house cross stitch right now!
Thanks for keeping us updated about the Marvel movies, Oli! 😊

Good morning! Please talk more about getting into theatre💕

Arts ed is so expensive i started crying when i saw the fees 😭😂looking for drama schools is stress
Any thoughts on the movie Save The Last Dance (2001) and the dance auditions??? One of my favorite nostalgic movies from my childhood.
Loved that movie
Love that movie
Love this- I feel so inspired. But Ollie you didn’t say “stay safe out there” today, how am I supposed to feel safe if you don’t tell me to every day?!?
Are there many dance groups for beginners about 17? Anything I’ve found is like for either 4 year olds or people who are 40+
I have the same issue, because I never learnt ballet or tap when I was younger but if I start now then I will either be with adults or little children
If you are above the income threshold to qualify for free fees but not wealthy enough to actually afford tuition fees what can you do? Also can you get a student loan like with university?
So drama school just costs the same as uni? Or is the issue that you don’t get a tuition fee loan from the government?
I go to drama school currently and 9,000 is half of my tuition 😭
On your ig you put ant man and the wasp too early it should be between infinity war and endgame
I think my parents influenced the engineering part of me, but my parents would never go near musical theatre, so i don't know where that came from
Hey guys, loved this video! I look forward to your morning chats so much 😊 I’m doing a musical theatre isolation challenge, check it out 🤩 I’m mega proud of some of my covers I’m doing! Xxx
I think thor is one of the better origin movies I don't really like captain America that much
