I prefer paperbacks. For me they are cheaper, more convenient and for the most part any bending, stains, cracked spine are just a badge of honor. But also I love the art of bookbinding, so you know the whole cake and eat it thing. lol
I always look for used hardcovers, often they're cheaper than getting a new paperback and they rarely show that much wear because hardcovers are durable
Your review is great. I'm also in the middle. Because If I want to build a library, Hardcover is defiantly better. But softcover is nice to mold to your liking while reading You should of made the review but not factoring in cost. Like if money wasn't an issue, just what do you prefer in general,....you know?
I have 4/7 Harry Potter books in paperback. As the 4rth is big enough (600 pages) the spine broke and now I am afraid of opening it too much so that I don't cause more damage. It is really difficult to read cause now I don't open it wide enough. However dad promised me to buy the whole hardcover set on my nameday (21/5)😊 As a Potterhead I am so happy!
At cost Now Hard cover it's better and paperbacks are became costly . Few minutes ago while I was searched for "Finding raga An improvisation on indian music" paper back it was costly and hard cover Better then paper back in price
Thanks for the good and informative video. One tip for improving: look straight at the camera, it looks like you watch slightly beside it and you would have a greater impact by looking straight in. Just an advice 😊 Good job, thank you 👍
Guys I have a book called Qaddafi's green book, unauthorized edition with qaddafi's photo on front of ot, I got it for around $5, I saw used ones on amazon sale for $350-$800. I don't get it why it's so expensive? Can someone please explain? Thanks
I like paperback too. People say hardcover is durable, I agree with that. but, come on.. u not gonna keep the book for century. I often donate my books when there is no place to keep
15 dollasrs a hardcover, are you kidding me, I have paperbacks which cost 15 dollars, like the divergent series the american paperback edition or others. But I have to say the british paperback most of the times are cheaper than american ones, buth they also mos of the times have not so good quality even for a paperback, but the hardcovers in USA are like 20 dollars or more
Recently I've been buying more Hardback books and I always look forward to seeing the interior designs under the dust jackets but I have more Paperback books then Hardback books but I like both equally as they each have their own benefits so it's hard to chose one over the other.
I like paperback because it's less expensive and the book is lighter. They also take up less room on a shelf and come without annoying dust jackets. I only got a few hardcovers on my book shelf right now.
I prefer hardbacks. However, there's also great variation in the quality of many modern hardbacks. Some have glued spines. Eventually the glue may dry out, the spines crack, then pages fall out. Better quality hardbacks which are designed with longevity in mind, also have Smyth sewn binding. These can be opened flat without damage. A few examples of publishers using Smyth sewn binding include Library of America, Everyman's Library, Folio Society. So long live the hardback. But if the hardbacks have glued spines, I don't mind cheaper paperback versions.
cover your books with plastic. I bought a rolled plastic at Beverly's a craft store in CA. All my huge and thick medical books that I used look so clean and brand new.
Thank you very much for your lovely explanation about paperback and hardcover book. I'm not an englishman so I didn't know what was the meaning of paperback and hardcover. So by the help of your beautiful video I learned what's the difference of these two types of presenting books 📚. ❤
That was very useful. Thanks for the video. Can you also suggest if its wort reading LOTR since i've heard that the original novels are better than the movies based on them.
I am from Mexico, and I prefer buying in Amazon than here in a library. Why? Look, 1 dollar is the same as 19 pesos, and hardcovers are 11 dollars maybe 15 if they are hyped books. I did the maths and books in Mexico are a lot more expensive than they are in USA. I bought in paperback Cinder by Marissa Meyer for 295 pesos, and I looked for it in amazon, I found a hardback edition for 11 dollars, thats 209 pesos. Way cheaper that the paperback!
hey... if you liked a book a lot.. way too much.. and you wanted someone to have it... and like... keep it.. to remember you! or simply because its a beautiful book... which would you choose!? as a gift... personally as a gift i would always want the hardbound.. so what would you suggest?! everyone.. Thanks you :)
If I'm unsure that I'll like the book, I'll try to find it on Overdrive on ebook because then it's free. Otherwise I'll buy the paperback. I buy all the Cassandra Clare books in paperback or hardcover form.
I completely agree with everything you said :) I love the way hardcovers look on my shelf but I love the price of paperbacks.
Here because i dunno if i should buy cyberpunk 2077 guide paperback or hardcover
"They are my babies" 😘 really nice
no one has said "hello" to me like that......... thank you

ik this was made 6 years ago but this video really helped. Hope you are well
I always look for used hardcovers, often they're cheaper than getting a new paperback and they rarely show that much wear because hardcovers are durable
Yes, I pretty much agree with you, paperbacks are fragile, easily get torn, that's not the case with hardcover.!!
Nice channel. It's nice to listen you speak. Hope you are doing good these days!

thank you dear. it helped me
Thanks for explaining. Now I know I must always buy Paperback.
At cost Now Hard cover it's better and paperbacks are became costly . Few minutes ago while I was searched for "Finding raga An improvisation on indian music" paper back it was costly and hard cover Better then paper back in price
Paperbacks to me seem “disposable” that’s not to say you couldn’t have one for 20-30 years but I think hardcover doesn’t seem better for durability.
Did u quit 🤔

Hey love your channel, new sub here
I am such a bookworm that I can't even choose between the two.
Recently I've been buying more Hardback books and I always look forward to seeing the interior designs under the dust jackets but I have more Paperback books then Hardback books but I like both equally as they each have their own benefits so it's hard to chose one over the other.
Thank you this is so helpful I just started reading and I wanted to learn about their differences. You should make more videos ^^
I honestly like hardback more if I’m reading but I think paperback becaus it looks nicer I think

What’s the difference between trade paperbacks and mass market paperbacks?
Thank you very much for your lovely explanation about paperback and hardcover book.

Thanks for advantage and disadvantages 👍

+Sor S I would love to except I actually haven't read them yet :3 I know, I know, I really need to! But I've also heard that they are amazing :)
+TheBodaciousBookBabe i've already started with the first part, perhaps ill give you the reviews once i'm done :)
+Sor S I would love that :)
200-275 pages…paperback
275-plus hardback
Why you stopped making videos on UA-cam
I use Amazon I've always enjoyed buying books off Amazon matter of fact they started in books
thanks for the insights! You're great
I just buys books......that’s it.
I prefer paperbacks. They're more comfortable to hold as they are lighter and more flexible. Great video!

On the shelf hardbacks look like a Harry Potter like shelve of magical books...
But paperback are easier for reading on journies..
If I'm unsure that I'll like the book, I'll try to find it on Overdrive on ebook because then it's free. Otherwise I'll buy the paperback. I buy all the Cassandra Clare books in paperback or hardcover form.
I agree with you however in the long run even tho it’s a bit more expensive I’ll go with the hardcover do to durability
I love hardcovers too, right now I limit the hardcover books to only the ones that are really cute covers, my bookshelf is full >(
Either my book has to look brand new or well-worn(read?), there's no inbetween!
🥰Love from India (Tamilnadu)
I love hard covers more, they are more durable
Well done explaining 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🌹🎉🎁
Good comparison and description.
paperback gang ough!!!
Good video, leather bound all the way!
Your very pretty
My name is mike

Thank you! :)
I agree wholeheartedly, but don't even get me started on ebooks, ick!
I hate reading ebooks, I never ever do by choice... I have to take my kindle when we go on vacations and I suffer the whole time.
The Bodacious Book Babe You are certainly a martyr, my friend..lol
same. Paperbacks are cheap and i too don't like reading ebooks. Feeling's associated with reading an actual book are worth a million dollar's😊
