Lucas! Yeah at this point I'd be surprised if an SM group *didn't* impress me. Just so many talented groups. TVXQ like you said are just very different and it still works. Amazing. Good to see you!
TVXQ started as a 5 member group in 2003, but 3 left SM a long time ago. The remaining members are 35 and 37 y.o now. And despite them not being as noticeable as the newer groups, they still sell out tours. They are idols of other idols. TVXQ is impressive because longevity in k-pop is a rare thing. Most groups dissapear after 1-3 years, not being able to make it, and even successful groups often disband after 7 years.
TVXQ just had their 20th anniversary on December 26th, kinda fitting that they sampled "Silver Bells Last December, SM released "2022 SM Town: SMCU Palace," one of the stand out songs (imo) was TVXQ member Changmin Taeyeon and Winter collaboration "Priority"
TVXQ! never disappoint! They're celebrating their 20th anniversary and i'm a proud long last fan too. Thank u for your reaction. Shoutout from Indonesian CASSIOPEIA 🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩
I obviously didn't know them before ( because I thought they were a new group when the video got recommended 😅) but they have a lot of charisma and experience which you can sense through the performance!
This song in particular is meant to showcase the low tones of Yunho and the highs of Changmin's. Glad you enjoyed it. They don't always do experimental stuff, but they are known for pioneering what some people call the "SM switchup," where the song doesn't go in the direction that you'd expect. TRI-ANGLE is a track they did with BoA and TRAX that's one of the most famous experimental tracks that surprised people in where it went. They were originally a 5 member group, but became a duo officially with their comeback in 2011. The super abridged version is that there were contract disputes over unfair contracts, and three members left, while these two renegotiated with SM and stayed.
Aw heck yeah!!! When I spoke to you the other day about TVXQ, and you said you had this mv open on another tab, I have been waiting for this reaction to drop lol! I still have yet to go down the TVXQ rabbit hole, though I do know more than I had initially realized since checking out their Killing Voice xD I was like oh I know this! Oh I know that! Lol! I also have yet to dive into U-Know's catalog, but I will also suggest, once again, Max Changmin's Devil and Fever (live stage vers.) XD Anyway! They did have a pre-release called Down, which I think would be a treat and a half for you. Thank you for this reaction CR! Loving the new colourful box frame thingers btw xD ✌
Oh yes pls! Do dive into U-know's catalogue. Both his SK and Japan releases. His flavor is quite different from Max Changmin's sound and has its own charm and creativity to it. Especially his last release Reality Show. He was very involved in the production and delivery of his last solo. ❤️
You are correct they were sampling a Christmas song. Carol of the Bells. And this song barely teases the vocals they are capable of. People have already requested the Killing Voice and Down, the other mv from this comeback. So I request Mirotic, Rising Sun, Why? (Keep Your Head Down) and Love in the Ice. Something that may cause confusion when searching for them is their group name. There are multiple names. In English the name translates to Rising Gods of the East. In Chinese Dongfanshenqi which translates in English letters TVXQ. In Korean, Dongbangshingi which translates in English letters DBSK. They are also huge in Japan where their name in Japanese Tohoshinki. It all means Rising Gods of the East. I think TVXQ is official these days but I know a lot of original fans use DBSK and Tohoshinki. Whether it’s any of those names, five members or two members, it’s always a legendary group that lives up to its name!
“Down” is their other new MV. It shows off their range quite nicely 🤗 Been a Cassie/fan since 06. Listened to a LOT of kpop over the years, and nothing quite compares to TVXQ. Subscribing in hopes you’ll listen to some of their other stuff 😊
They have some experimental songs, when they were 5 there is Tri-angle and Rising Sun as the most famous, as a duo mostly their Japanese releases gravitate towards that "disjointed but it works for some reason" production. A Japanese song they released in 2022 titled Epitaph~for the future~ has a similar vibe and theme but is more rock based both the instrumental and the styling! For the slapping your face off sheer intensity, I'd recommend Keep Your Head Down which was their first release as a duo in 2011. If you like the dark sci-fi visuals U-KNOW'S (with the chains and lower voice) song Follow takes inspiration in Akira, Jin-roh, Tron (maybe a few others I'm not aware of) for the music video! But even their jazz inspired songs are intense, they are just very intense performers both as a group and in their solo songs 😅
they have a Killing Voice for this comeback which is amazing lol and yeah this is such a TVXQ song i freaking love it
Oh cool. I never know when I react to my first MV if it's 'normal' or a departure. Either way they rocked it! I do like Killing voices...

You know sm Dosent play when it comes to vocals and doing different things. All their male groups are amazing.

TVXQ usually make music beyond their generation and different geners, their discography is huge and exquisite.
That's so cool, I love that they know how to push concepts and experiment in a way that works for them!

TVXQ is so good, Down, Killing Voice..... Also Taemin: The Rizzness. And he has Killing Voice too.
Yes! Taemin Rizzness and his Killing Voice are both coming. I'm interested in the other TVXQ stuff too now!

Hi, thank you for watching I hope you enjoyed. Sounds good!
Their 'Down' MV 🤯🤯🤯
"👀 nice chain" 😂 the point you madr about the advantages of being a duo tho, so true
Hey I gotta appreciate the drip. Yeah I don't see many duos so that stood out to me. Very cool. Thanks for watching!
React down too please
