Here’s my 2 cents - Buying your childhood dream car is a hell of an achievement. I went from a C8 Corvette to a brand new Huracan Evo and it killed my motivation. I felt like I had hit the biggest goal I had in life and I began to get lazy. Buy the McLaren. Keep the dream alive. Its kinda like the saying “never meet your hero” Great videos! Keep it up.
Good point! Ended up buying the Gallardo. Absolutely love it! But honestly I'm even more motivated now to achieve other goals in life. I also have the goal to buy a brand new Lamborghini before turning 40. So I have personal goals I can now focus on since I checked off the childhood car. And slowly work towards another car goal in the next decade. So I'm very happy going for the Gallardo.
I own a 570. Gallardo isn't even in the same league as the McLaren. Different generation, different mission. But there's no denying the great driving fun of a Gallardo if you have a manual.
This video series reminds me of when you were trying to decide if you wanted the 370z, Evo X, WRX, or the 3.8 Genesis Coupe! Great series, and I am stoked to see what you get next!
Had a 2020 gtr loved it for 2 years and recently upgraded to a 600lt was definitely skeptical for the bad rep mclarens get but best decision ever ! Get one with warranty and go for it! my friend has put over 20k miles on his 570 no issues also recently put 2k miles in 2 months on mine lots of driving doesn’t seem like it’s skipping a beat. Love the mclaren you get everything you’re looking for speed, agility, looks, comfortability. Can literally drive it everyday if you wanted no problem. Get the 570 you won’t regret it!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed mclaren offers unlimited mileage warranty than can extend the warranty as long as they certify the car through the dealer that it’s good to go and it’s not modified or anything, maintenance pretty much the guild-line is every year or every 10k miles an oil change

Yeah this is a lot of car for the money! Just look into the maintenance and reliability. A bit more finicky of a car vs Lambo! I ended up buying a 2014 Gallardo and love it! Such a raw car. But the 570 is super cool too!

Awesome review - your grin while accelerating in this video says it all! I've owned both McLaren 570S and Lamborghini Gallardo and each was fairly straightforward in regard to maintenance and no major issues. Both are absolutely fantastic machines in their own way. Sweet! Seems like a lot of GTR owners go for either a Lambo, Porsche or McLaren after. Not many cars can do what a GTR does. So we have to look at the big boys! lol
The 570’s looks insane looks super lightweight the best of 3 worlds the way you describe it it’s really up to you I would say do the research on what parts for both cars cost less or which one is less hard to upgrade because I’m pretty sure if you buy it it won’t be stock for long would it
Mind you I am Porsche guy that have owned several 911. The 570 is Waaaay better than a gallardo, gt4 or an even gt3. Owned now a 570s and use it as a daily driving. The down side is when they start breaking or when you need to replace the spark plugs and ignition coils which you’ll have to do every 15k miles. Enjoy it!
I ended up buying a 2014 Gallardo. Honestly, I love it! I really like the old school character. It's so raw to drive and just unlike anything. The 570S was a blast too! But I just can't get enough of the V10 sound and smooth power with the unrefined transmission. Also I love how easy the G is to work on at home. I can easily do all the maintenance and repairs. I can't see having a car I can't do 100 % of the work on. Gallardo is so simple to work on and very rewarding to drive. Maybe one day a McLaren will join the garage. But nothing beats the G for me

@@BrosFOURRSpeed I was only able to drive it for 2 hours but it felt more precise, the engine/exhaust note was glorious, and it looks sexier (subjective of course). I felt more comfortable driving fast in the Lambo as well, where as the McLaren felt good but felt like it could brake lose at any moment.
Considering one too, or a used Huracan next year. Only thing that concerns me with McLaren is reliability and the cost to fix things (i.e. $20k for new clutches), misc electrical issues, etc. That said, a friend of mine hasn't had a single issue with his 570s in 3-years. Might be a good buy with warranty, which is also pricey. Leaning to a Lambo. The 570s is definitely impressive and looks great too though.
Yeah I've seen mixed reviews of the McLarens. Seems like if you actually drive them and keep them on a tender they do well. I ended up buy a Gallardo LP550 and love it! So easy to maintain myself and parts are readily available and not that expensive. So I'm definitely a Lambo fan. But at some point a McLaren could be cool. Just need to learn more about the car I think
Make sure if you get a mclaren 570s get the extended factory warranty and buy from a authorized mclaren dealer. I just picked up a 570s about 3 months from motorcars of Atlanta. had a couple issues including the parking brake go bad and alternator but they took care me and didn’t have to pay out of pocket just the waiting time to get parts take time since they have to get them from England. Also about the battery make sure it has the newest version which is gen 3 because the older ones do have problems making the car shit off for no reason.But overall great driving experience and the attention is like no other haha

Theyre plagued with maintanence issues but if youre ready for that it's great. One guy couldbt even start it because it said he didnt have the key, how embarrasing would that be
I've heard mixed things with McLaren. If you keep them on a battery tender and drive them they seem to be decent. However I bought a 2014 LP550 Gallardo and love it!
Go for the lambo. The 570s gets mistaken for a C8, but lambos are unmistakable and looks are timeless. LP Gallardos are also basically bulletproof, whereas with 570s you’ll spend lots of time taking it to the shop and stressing about its poor reliability; your valuable time and stress levels is better spent on your hustle.
Decisions Decisions hmmm 🤔 both the Lamborghini and the McLaren are great but it all balls down to which one really dose it for you but if you want an old classic super car from the early 2000s go for the Lamborghini but if you want to go with a car that’s a little new with tech go with the McLaren. One finally thing if you are considering the McLaren just learn the cars weak points as well as maintenance other than that you should be good 😎

Yeah I think the original excitement made me think that. Last pull I did in the car was pedal to the floor and it was more similar to a stock GTR. So I was getting ahead of myself lol

However a few years ago I raced a 700 HP 650s and I stayed right with it till about 130. So mine was fast! 570s was a blast to drive tho and can certainly make similar power modded
Definitely a tough decision because they are great options. How is the reliability on the 570? Mclaren is superior in almost every way but issues are extremely common. Then the lamborghini, iconic car and to most a childhood dream car and great reliability when maintained but a little dated. Tough decision!!!!
I don't mind the dated aspects. I like old school feeling cars. But its fun being in the McLaren since its just so good! Certainly a car that would have it's quirks. Not sure if I could maintain it myself or not like I could with the Lambo. So I'd have to learn alot more about the brand!

If I were going to put 150-200k into an exotic, it sure as hell wouldn’t be a McClaren. If you are going to put up with all the maintenance issues, it might as well be a Lamborghini or Ferrari.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Lambos are that and DIY friendly. You don't want to own a car that is going to be at the dealer if under warranty or fork up $30k bill to fix something out of warranty. Personally, I opt for 17+ R8. More comfortable and practical for daily driven
Great points for sure. The Gallardo is pretty easy to keep running and lots of owners work on them at home. It'd be a hassle to have to ship the car to the McLaren dealer 1 hour away and spend a ton in the process. Hopefully I can track down a newer R8 to film as well! Good blend of Huracan and Gallardo.
4 things I dislike. Massive turbo lag, extremely hard brake pedal, overreacting CAN bus which triggers CEL on daily basis, crazy eye catcher which makes crazy liberal Karen’s to go ballistic
Lambo’s are actually pretty reliable and easy to work on. I still need to check out a 991 GT3. But some good options! 570s was a blast and I could see getting it

NO. The 650S has better build quality, a bigger interior and IS CHEAPER right now. Atleast where I am, try mclaren Boston.
Yeah the 650 is pretty similar in price. A bit older car for tech. But a step up in performance. I ended up buying a 2014 Gallardo LP550. Love it!

I’ve been fortunate to have driven both before(thanks to exotic rentals in Dallas), both are awesome but the Lambo is a superior machine.

Still think Porsche first, then this 570. Lambo will hurt because it will be unreliable.

lol true! From owners I've met, Lambos are pretty tough cars and easy to fix. Especially the Gallardo. The clutch is the biggest thing I'll need to be careful on

Better is subjective. Almost at one year owning my LP550. Love it! So much more character in the Lambo. Way better build quality too

I ended up buying the Gallardo. This was a fun car for sure. But I love how simple the Lambo is and how I can work on it myself. Would love a McLaren one day, but the reliability scares me a bit
