Lost Marines of Guadalcanal - Missing Marines WWII History | "Leaving Mac Behind"

The Missing Marines list represents nearly a decade of research and is a sobering reminder of the brutal cost of war.
As part of the research process for his book "Leaving Mac Behind" Geoffry Roecker dove deep into unit muster rolls and USMC casualty reports to try and come up with a comprehensive list of all fatal casualties suffered during the six-month campaign on Guadalcanal. He then created this interactive map to give us a powerful visual representation of the statistic.

Concerning the remaining marine the sea had moved inland almost 100 metre since ww2

Im willing to bet some survived but decided to stay.
