You may have noticed I skipped some things near the end of the video like putting all the equipment on the Unicorn. To be frank, I was fed up with messing with the kit. After two days of filming, getting everything right, I just wanted to be done. So after I filmed the weapons, I just jumped to my final thoughts. I hope you all still enjoyed it and don't worry. The quality will go up.
@@goro5479 Gundam Meli is still starting out in the review game. as a reviewer I think Krow is still better. i'd say they are pretty even on building skill though but I think Krow has a few years on her in that regard
That's fair enough, I have the banshee and I find keeping the armed armor XC(the back pakc main like thing to replace beam sabers) thing is super loose, so I have to keep pushing them down, coudln't imagine that same thing, except for literally every part of the kit
@@TheKrowSama One of the reasons why I think the HG Full armor is better because it has the ability for the shields be on a base and has the ability to combine into the giant shield while the rg is the only full armor that cant combine the shields for some reason.
you're not wrong for pointing out all those "issues" though I feel when compared to all the other Unicorn kits, this one is the "sturdiest" and can hold its poses well. for the shoulder joint, you gotta mess with that lil section on the edge that rotates to fully close the shoulder bits or to have 'em opened properly. same goes for the chest, you gotta mess with the shoulder connection a bit to close the chest section fully flush. It IS a marathon build so i can see why you feel this way. overall, apart from the shoulder joint, everything else seems fine to me and hey, a lil bit of glue goes a long way too lol. Now, If you'd excuse me, There's diarrhea to clean up.
I have to admit the RG Unicorn in itself, upon seeing just how gorgeous it is, is what made me want to dive in to the RG line; despite my fears due to the various horror stories from other builders. I can only wonder, though, if the stability issue would be a different story had it had the mini-MG frame the RG Crossbone had instead of the pre-built ones the RG line is (in)famous for. Nevertheless, once I have built a few more RG’s, I’m getting just the regular Unicorn.
For me the RG Unicorn is by and far the best RG I've built. It's sturdy, never falls apart, joints are tight but not too tight, poses really well transforms smoothly. So maybe it's just me, or maybe you've just gotten really bad luck. The RG Unicorn was my first kit but I don't think that I have rose tinted glasses for it. The thing has fallon off my display shelf multiple times and the worst thing thats happened is the beam magnum magazine falls off.
ForgedHorizons I’m thinking of buying this kit, do you still have yours? Does it still hold up after 9 months? It will be my 4th kit but my first real grade.
Very nice and honest review! Was considering getting this kit in a while and now finally I can decide. For me enjoying the build process is important so thanks a lot for sharing out how it is!
I totally understand your tireness. Usually I just care for the MS, once I get to the extras I start to get bored and try to rush it. I would by this one just for the green psycho-frame. (I do realize that I just left 3 comments. I'll finish watching the video before commenting next time.)
Kept this hobby for 10 years now, actually stopped for some time, but the fucking RG sazabi just had to bring me back the gunpla rabbit hole. I'll probably get this at one point, but saving for the Nu Gundam now after buying the RG crossbone. Well, guess this is better than buying drugs and clubbing like other college scrubs my age.
I don't know what you're talking about. aside from the one joint in the shoulders being prone to breaking, (i broke 3 over 2 kits) and the bazzuka ammo clip falling out, this is one of the most stable rg there is. though gotta agree about the build, on the fa the weapons just seemed to take bloody forever, the mg was so much more of a grind to do tho so maybe having built that made this build more bearable
I'm not sure if it would work but it should help. If u glue around the joints to thicken them and then re attach them so there is a stronger connection it will stop stuff falling off. Sorry if that was what u were on about when u said glue it
Might build the weapons first then the unicorn to not experience any anti climatic of building it. This will be my 3rd RG unicorn if I manage to get one.
Great video! May I know what that stand is? I'm new to Gunpla and I finished my first build (standard RG Unicorn) a few weeks back. Mine was pretty solid. The shoulders closed properly and no loose parts on the figure itself. The only loose items would be the Bazooka's clip and shield attachment to the arm. Nothing a tiny dab of Blue Tack didn't fix. Overall I enjoyed the build enough to buy the RG FA Unicorn and Banshee Norn. I'm starting the Norn first when my weather clears up. Cheers!
Due to lack of availability at the time, the only full armor unicorn I could get was the assault kingdom version. Although not as beautiful or as gimmicky as the rg, it is very fun to play with and pose. Nice review though!
i think almost all unicorns rg and mg is really a pain in the arse to build (unicorn, banshee, i havent build phenex yet i want that gold plate tho), some are stable and some aren't. I have an MG Banshee ver Ka, and it took me almost 3 months to build because i'm busy and my skills are still lacking, it is a pain in the arse up until the point of top coating it. especially transforming it is really frustrating, that vents on the shoulder in my kits were really loose and i have to unplug it from there and just leave it hollow. But dont get me wrong, Unicorn kits are godamn awesome and are really really beautiful if you finished it, and i can fairly say it's an okay if you're not messing with the kit too much and just leave it be as a model kit (doesn't moving it that much). loving your reviews btw!
@@TheKrowSama thanks and also how did you apply that green glitter to the green pyscho frame. I got the same one as you but just dont know how to apply it
The building process is similar to the mg so I was kind of confused when people say its really good barely any flaws. Thanks for pointing that out, you're the only one saying it out loud about the issues
I just started this, and I can already feel the "not fun" aspect. My personal problem is if I don't finish a kit fast enough, I start to get tired of it. I need that sense of accomplishment, a finish line every so often. I tend to hop onto an hg build when that feeling starts to set in. Quick snap, panel line, top coat, and I get my dopamine along with knocking a box off the backlog.
Badass review, mighty ambitious to pose with each weapon after talking about it I could definitely see getting burnt out after doing that but as a UA-camr I really enjoyed it. But seriously what stand is that!? That final pose was phenomenal
hmm, I have the hg version, should I get this? I always regret my decision of getting the HG version of this kit and the psycho zaku (I bought both on sale, buy one get one free). I am thinking to buy rg unicorn full armor and mg psycho zaku, but I don't want duplicate in my shelf..
I'd say personally if you don't care much for the fa pack buy the og one but the rg unicorn is much better than the mg or the hg so I'd say go for it if you like the design
Just use a little bluetak, as with my experience with framearms, which some are also hand grenades, a little bluetak can be a great alternative to gluing things together and ruining the customizablity of the kit
@@TheKrowSama yeah. I kinda wanted to hear your thoughts about it before I go ahead and build mine, but going by this review I figured you probably got tired of the Unicorn RG, you just skipped it.
@@DarkROSkull013 I'm a firm believer on taking reviewers opinions with a grain of salt. @@TheKrowSama You know, I was debating on which version to pick, or if I had to get one at all. I figured since I had both the Sinanju and the Norn, I should get a Unicorn too. The other part that often fell off were the knee armor and feet armor plating. I had to glue some of those parts. But, overall. it was a bit stable for me.
