She’s a very sweet, kind and empathetic person. Even if she isn’t able to share the same feelings she’s willing to be a friend and encourage and support him as he begins to search elsewhere for a long term relationship. Knowing someone like her might have made my own searching much easier, or softened the blow of never meeting that special someone. It gives me a great appreciation for your kind heart.

I thought of it the same way too. But I also think it's a bit dangerous for her to offer Kevin a friendship- even with good intentions to be nice and cordial. Cause imagine eventually that she finds out that her bf has been sheating on her, she might likely default to Kevin as her plan B cause she subconsciously knows that the poor guy been waiting patiently in the sideline. Personally, I think Kevin should move on and keeps his distance as a coworker.
