Am a little surprised they go back and forth across that road (which is used by heavy goods vehicles) without even any lights or barriers. Like at 4:53 that car was determined to get past regardless.
It's not what you would expect to see, the train driver needs to be ready to stop if necessary. I think British Health and Safety officials would panic if they saw this railway.
A fantastic ride thru the beautiful forest,I hope they never close this wonderful line down,Don't take any notice of neil forbes comment re editing "IF IT'S NOT BROKEN DON'T FIX IT"cheer's bob.
Hello Robert, this railway line is a gem, a survivor from the days when narrow gauge industrial railways were a common sight, built to serve brick works, sewage works and the like all over the world. The choice of narrow gauge kept construction costs down, these fascinating lines connected all kinds of industry to the main lines, ports, canals and other industrial sites. The Mixnitz Railway is still doing the job it was built to do almost 100 years earlier. I hadn't seen Neil's comment, I guess if 10 people were asked to edit the same video, the result would be 10 quite different versions of the same video. I work full time as a toolmaker/designer and I try to post videos every week, I don't have enough time as it is with over-complicating the way I edit these videos. Cheers. Tim.
Just a point on editing, if I might venture a suggestion, I think I'd take out the parts from where the train first comes to a stop[21:10](what's cut out from the video between 21:10 and 23:46 could be held for end titles so it wouldn't be wasted), then pick up from where the trackside camera views the train crossing the bridge[22:58 to 23:15] , then pick up from the remainder of the ride[23:46] viewed by the loco-mounted camera.
Cheers Neil, I'd missed this comment. I looked at your suggestions and they would have worked well, its a bit late to do anything about it now. Time constraints are my main problem, I'm sure I'd do things differently If UA-cam was my full time job.
@@Timsvideochannel1 It was an idea I had watching the video. If your editing software has provision for overlays(Picture-in-Picture). It's a feature in my software I often use to good effect.
@@neilforbes416 Hi Neil, the idea makes good sense and my software does PIP, time is my problem, I keep things as simple as possible, otherwise I cannot upload a video every week.
Sankt Erhard to Mixnitz. Sorry but I live in England. What country is this? No lights and or barriers at the level crossings? Not preaching ,just saying/asking. Still a kwel lil railroad
HI, I've added Austria to the title now. It never ceases to surprise me, how attitudes to level crossings differ around the world, the worst behaviour I've seen has been at crossings with barriers and lights, although unprotected crossings are not generally used where train speeds are high or visibility limited.
It's Austria/ styria. I live there. And we all just stop driving when we see and hear the honk of the train. This is also the only train that use this rails and we are all used to it :)
Wonderful ride, Austria remains as beautiful as ever, thanks for the video.
Thank you, I'm pleased you enjoyed it.
Hi Tim, beautiful views of Austria, thanks a lot.
Thank you, I'm pleased you enjoyed this unusual narrow gauge railway.
FANTASTISCHE VIDEO !!! PRACHTIGE STREEK !!! ZELFS DIE KOE VOND HET MOOI!!
This line is a little gem! The fact that it still sees regular traffic is amazing. Thanks Tim!
It is wonderful that it still exists doing the job it was designed to do more than 100 years ago, I'm pleased you enjoyed it.
That was awesome and the scenery was grand, thankyou!
Fantastic drive video!👍👍👍
Another nice video Tim. Cheers
Thank you.
Great , as always 🙏🙏
Echt sehenswerte Aufnahme dieser industriellen Schmalspurbahn! Lang lebe, Österreich!

AMAZING HOW THE TRACK IS RIGHT BY THE ROAD WITH NO FENCING....iN THE UK THEY WOULD HAVE A DUCK FIT....would have liked some views of the train....
Que Pais é este ???
Austria
Oi, isso foi filmado na Áustria.
The cows were thinking "I'm not sure what they're doing, but it was kind of them to entertain us."
Animals are far cleverer than we give them credit for, my cat gets me to open and close the back door at least 10 times a day.
