Thanks for the info. TBH as a canadian I hope to see us buy the Super Hornet to upgrade from our hornets rather then the f35. Dual engine is a big advantage here which is ultimately one of the reasons we never got f16's
+Air Destroyers with the reliability issues on modern jet engines more risk is in using two over one. Human maintenance errors is the leading cause of failure. When one engine fails it is usually catastrophic. So in reality the F-35 better meets your stated requirement of reliability.
Is that in Canadian or US dollars? I assume US. The last I heard in a few years the flyaway price for a F-35A will drop to US $85 million each, maybe a million or two less. Much depends upon how many will be bought for that lot. As more and more are produced, the price has fallen...
From the looks of it they never actually flew the damn thing there, for all we know they probably flat decked the damn chunk of metal and plastic over the boarder because it isn't capable of flying in our cold conditions... Damn lemon I'll say.
I missed out on seeing this high tech wonder at the air show
Lot 7 F-35As cost 98 million each. Each successive lot has cost less than the previous lot.

In battle you would be much more at risk with low stealth capabilities also. So at best, the risk would even out. My advice, go with the F-35.

+SeaToby11 the 85 million will be in US currency and projected purchase price to include engine on A models bought in 2019.
The future fighter jets we get in Europe as well
Looks like it still has the plastic on the seat, ahhh that new jet plane smell......
Solar cover

yeah they never did. I'm not a fan but it is a cool plane... or would be if it wasn't less good and more expensive then the f22
It will never be ready...never
Ace Archangel it probably have the same vulnerability to rain as f22 , lol
Phil Keyouz I bet the thing is trash
Russia's going to invade us with their T-50's and the F-35 will still be incomplete
